Finally. Someone on the national stage is making sense. Here are some of Dr. Carson’s words about God at CPAC:
“We have to resist this war on God. People don’t want to talk about God, and ‘don’t you dare ever mention Jesus Christ!’ And this is supposed to be a country where we have freedom of religion and freedom of speech? It is absolutely absurd.
“Let’s let everybody believe what they want to believe. And that means, P. C. police, don’t you be coming down on the people who believe in God and who believe in Jesus. If they want to put something out that shows their belief, they have every right to do that…
“And we have to live by godly principles of loving your fellow man, of caring about your neighbor, and developing your God given talents to the utmost so that you become valuable to the people around you–of having values and principles that guide your life. And if we do that, we not only will become a pinnacle nation, but we will truly be one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
I wish this man was president instead of Barack Obama, who divides and conquers. As Dr. Carson brought out, a nation divided against itself cannot stand.
Ken,
Our comfort is in knowing by faith that our perfect Father in heaven has done all that needs to be done to save us; for heaven one day, to be our home. The name of Jesus; Jesus is who and what God did to save us; those who He has given faith. Ephesians 2:8 & 9.
Certainly that man, in pointing out things that would make changes that would be good? I agree, they would be…but Jesus did not come to save this world; to make it a Christian world; to make it right.
But for us; as He continues to give us life this side of the grave, we will live in such a way as we strive to live Holy lives and love our neighbors…in the meantime…we praise God for this gift of faith…and when He has brought all His children into His kingdom, then…and not till then will He bring this world to an end.
Never forget the glory and honor you are directing to God. The blessing we receive when reading things written by men who love God. We will continuing praising Him; and thanking Him.
Let me quote a man of God…who clearly understands that God gave His Son to save sinners…Abraham Kuyper…He says to us, “It seems to me, it (our confession – “Thou are the Christ, the Son of the living God”) gets me (Jesus) no praise among the angels of God; yet, I (Jesus) am not ashamed to be called your brother. Hence, I ask that you be not ashamed of me also, although I know the world will despise you for defending my cause.
God continue to use you. To live is Christ to die is gain. Phil. 1:21
A brother
Thanks, William, for those comforting words about our Savior, who has provided in His plan a place where the children of God can speak of Him freely–unlike many countries in this old world. That is one of our basic rights as Americans, placed into the hearts of our founding fathers, thus, providing a place for
God’s children to grow spiritually. kwh
