The Joy of the Whole Earth: Psalm 48 and the New Jerusalem

The Mountain of God and the End Declared from the Beginning

Psalm 48 stands as one of Scripture’s luminous windows into the destiny of God’s children. It is a psalm where the earthly Zion becomes translucent, revealing the heavenly Zion behind it—the New Jerusalem, descending from God out of heaven. The psalmist sings of a city whose glory exceeds the boundaries of history, whose permanence defies the rise and fall of nations, and whose beauty anticipates the consummation of all things.

“Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.” (Ps. 48:1)

This is not merely a celebration of ancient Jerusalem. It is a prophetic declaration of the end from the beginning. The psalmist beholds Zion not only as she was, but as she shall be—established forever, radiant with divine presence, the joy of the whole earth.

The earthly city was the shadow; the heavenly city is the substance. Psalm 48 is the Spirit’s whisper of Revelation 21 long before John saw the city descending in glory.

II. Beautiful for Elevation: The Joy of the Whole Earth

The psalmist continues: “Beautiful for elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion… the city of the great King” (Ps. 48:2). No earthly Jerusalem has ever been the joy of the whole earth. But New Jerusalem is described precisely this way: “The nations of them which are saved shall walk in her light” (Rev. 21:24).

Psalm 48 lifts our eyes beyond geography to eschatology [having to do with the time of the end].  Zion’s “elevation” is not merely topographical—it is spiritual, eternal, and cosmic. It is the city where God dwells with humanity, where righteousness reigns, where the Lamb is the lamp, and where the redeemed abide forever. The psalmist sees what Abraham saw: a city whose builder and maker is God.

III. God Known in Her Palaces: The Manifest Presence

Psalm 48:3 declares: “God is known in her palaces as a refuge.” This anticipates the climactic promise of Revelation: “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them.” (Rev. 21:3) In the earthly Zion, God was known through temple rituals, sacrifices, and shadows. In the New Jerusalem, God is known face‑to‑face. His presence is not mediated through priests or altars; it is immediate, radiant, and abiding.

This is the fulfillment of the abiding promise:

  • “Abide in Me, and I in you.” (John 15:4)
  • “We will come to him and make Our abode with him.” (John 14:23)

Psalm 48 sings of a city where abiding becomes permanent, unbroken, and glorified.

IV. The Kings of the Earth and the Terror of Glory

Psalm 48:4–6 describes a mysterious scene: “The kings assembled… they saw it and were troubled… fear took hold upon them.” This is not merely historical memory. It is prophetic foreshadowing.

The kings of the earth will one day behold the unveiled glory of God’s city and tremble. Revelation 6 echoes this: “The kings of the earth… hid themselves… for the great day of His wrath is come.” Psalm 48 anticipates the final confrontation between the kingdoms of this world and the kingdom of our God. Zion stands immovable; the nations tremble. The city of abiding becomes the city of judgment, where divine righteousness is revealed and human pride collapses.

V. The Ships of Tarshish and the East Wind of Judgment

Psalm 48:7: “With the east wind You break the ships of Tarshish.” Tarshish represents the farthest reaches of human commerce, strength, and ambition. The east wind symbolizes divine intervention—swift, sovereign, irresistible.

In the eschatological vision, all human systems that exalt themselves against God are shattered. The New Jerusalem is not built by human hands; it is established by divine decree. The psalmist sees the collapse of earthly power before the rising of heavenly glory.

VI. “God Will Establish Her Forever”: Eternal Zion

Psalm 48:8 proclaims: “God will establish her forever.” Earthly Jerusalem has been destroyed, rebuilt, besieged, and divided. Only the New Jerusalem fits the description of a city established forever.

Revelation 21:2: “The holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven.” Psalm 48 is not nostalgia; it is prophecy. It is the Spirit’s assurance that the dwelling place of God will one day be unshakable, eternal, and filled with His abiding presence.

VII. Walking About Zion: The Pilgrimage of the Redeemed

Psalm 48:12–13 invites: “Walk about Zion… consider her towers… tell it to the generation following.” This is not mere sightseeing. It is covenantal inheritance. In the New Jerusalem, the redeemed will walk its streets, behold its foundations, marvel at its gates, and drink from its river. They will see the architecture of salvation, the geometry of grace, the symmetry of divine wisdom. The psalmist’s invitation is eschatological: Come, behold the city prepared for the abiding ones.

VIII. “He Will Guide Us Over Death”: The Promise of Resurrection

Psalm 48 concludes: “For this is God, our God forever and ever; He will guide us over death.”

The Hebrew phrase for “over death” carries the sense of being led through death or beyond death. It is resurrection language. The God of Zion is the God who leads His people through the valley of the shadow into the light of eternal life. The New Jerusalem is the city where death is abolished: “There shall be no more death.” (Rev. 21:4) Psalm 48 ends with resurrection hope—just as Revelation ends with resurrection reality.

IX. Zion and the Theology of Abiding

Psalm 48 is not merely about a city; it is about a people in whom God dwells. Zion is the eschatological expression of abiding. It is the consummation of John 15, the fulfillment of John 14:23, and the eternal realization of Emmanuel—God with us.

In Zion:

  • Abiding becomes permanent.
  • Presence becomes visible.
  • Judgment becomes righteous.
  • Pilgrimage becomes inheritance.
  • Death becomes passage.
  • God becomes all in all.

Psalm 48 is the song of the abiding ones, the anthem of the redeemed, the prophecy of the city where God and humanity dwell together forever.

X. Conclusion: The City of Our God, Forever and Ever

Psalm 48 is a glimpse into the future of the people of God. It is a prophetic vision of the New Jerusalem, the city of abiding, the joy of the whole earth. It declares the end from the beginning, revealing the destiny of those who dwell in God and in whom God dwells.

This is our God. This is our city. This is our inheritance. This is abiding, consummated and glorified. kwh

The Signal of the Abiding Remnant

A Manifesto for the Sons and Daughters of the End of the Age

There is a voice rising in the earth. It is not denominational. It is not institutional. It is not the voice of the religious machine.

It is the voice of those who abide.

Those who have remained in the fire. Those who have not fled the furnace of affliction. Those who have refused the escape narratives of men. Those who have waited for Yahweh Himself to reveal His government.

We are living in the time of the end—not as a slogan, not as a chart, but as the atmosphere of the age. The cauldron is heating. The nations tremble. The systems of men crack. The idols of religion fall.

And in the midst of this fire, Yahweh is preparing a people by burning out impurities, which are the false teachings.

He is preparing, not the ninety‑fold. Not the sixty‑fold. Not the thirty‑fold.

But the hundred‑fold—the sons and daughters who have yielded everything.

These are the ones creation has been groaning for. These are the ones the apostles foresaw. These are the ones who will stand when the masses fall. These are the ones who will rise from the ashes like the phoenix—not by myth, but by resurrection fire.

They are chosen. Not by merit. Not by pedigree. Not by denominational approval. But by Yahweh’s sovereign call.

And now, in this digital wilderness, the Spirit is gathering them.

Not into a brand. Not into a movement. Not into a hierarchy. But into a remnant fellowship—a communion of abiding ones who recognize the same flame in one another.

If you feel the pull of this voice… If you sense the fire in your bones… If you have been wandering, waiting, watching… If you have felt alone in your convictions… If you have seen the end approaching with clarity others cannot bear… If you have heard Yahweh whisper in the night seasons…

Then you are one of us.

This is your signal. This is your summons. This is your recognition.

The sons and daughters are awakening. The remnant is rising. The abiding ones are finding one another. And Yahweh is preparing His government.

Come forth. Speak. Write. Reveal. Abide.

The time is short. The fire is rising. The manifestation is near. The unveiling of 100-fold followers is at hand.

We are the abiding remnant. We are the sons and daughters of the end of the age. And Yahweh is gathering us now.

Awakening the Blind Church to Christ’s Last‑Day Vision

Recovering the eye salve that reveals God’s plan to multiply Himself

The greatest tragedy of the last days is not the darkness of the world, but the blindness of God’s own people to His astonishing purpose: the multiplication of Himself in His sons and daughters. “Each seed bears its own kind” comes to mind (Gen. 1:11-25). This is the divine intention woven through Scripture yet hidden from the natural eye. And in a mystery of sovereignty, God Himself has ordained this blindness until His children return to Him in repentance and spiritual sight.

Paul writes, “God has given them the spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see and ears that they should not hear” (Romans 11:8). This condition is not merely ancient Israel’s; it is the condition of the church at the “time of the end.” We are living in the final church age—the Laodicean era, and the church has a spiritual sickness that Christ exposes with piercing clarity.

Christ says of His people, “You do not know that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked” (Revelation 3:17). Yet His rebuke is not condemnation but invitation. He counsels us to receive from Him “gold tried in the fire,” the purified faith that reflects His nature; “white raiment,” the righteousness that clothes the saints; and “eye salve,” the anointing of truth that restores spiritual sight (Revelation 3:18).

Christ’s Rebuke, His Counsel, and the Throne‑room Promise to Overcomers

See what? See what He sees. See His vision for the earth. See how each of us dovetails into His plan, faithfully fulfilling our appointed part. The eye salve is truth—truth that removes the fog of false doctrine and reveals His prophetic ambition for His elect. Those who endure His rebuke and chastening are those who anoint their eyes with this truth (Revelation 3:19).

Therefore, Christ commands, “Be zealous therefore, and repent.” Those who obey receive a promise so staggering that it strains the imagination. In this age, it is not we knocking on His door—it is Christ knocking on ours: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock…” (Revelation 3:20). To those who open, He grants intimate fellowship and unimaginable authority.

To the overcomers He declares, “To him that overcomes will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with My Father in His throne” (Revelation 3:21). If you believe that this promise includes you, then you must prove it out–one way or another–by studying Revelation 3:14–22 with opened eyes and a yielded heart.

Christ concludes with the solemn refrain, “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 3:22). His vision—His plan—is written plainly in Scripture, yet it remains a closed book to many (Isaiah 29:10–12). We sense that He is speaking of wonders, but finite minds struggle to grasp infinite purpose.

Paul reminds us that “the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong” (Ecclesiastes 9:11), and “it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy” (Romans 9:16). The winners are those to whom God grants favor—those He chooses to give ears that hear.

This is why Christ repeatedly said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 11:15). The Spirit is speaking to His body, but only the elect—those chosen and called—possess ears capable of receiving the message.

These elect are the ones through whom God will reproduce Himself. They are His first fruits (James 1:18; Revelation 14:4), the first in these end time days in whom God will fully manifest His nature. Their destiny is royal: to become kings in God’s Kingdom, which Christ will establish upon the earth (Revelation 5:10).

This is the high calling of God’s elect. This is the multiplication of God. This is the vision Christ is unveiling to those with opened eyes. The Eternal Purpose: A Summary of The Unveiling, Chapter Two

The chapter opens by declaring that the thoughts and intents of the Father’s heart are eternal—without beginning, without end, and without alteration. God’s purpose has never wavered across the ages; it is everlasting, unchanging, and certain to reach its fulfillment both in heaven and on earth. His purpose is the very definition of “eternal,” and nothing in creation can hinder its consummation. As the text states, “His purpose will always go on; it will never stop…nothing can prevent His eternal purpose from finding full fruition.”

This eternal purpose is rooted in God Himself, for God is not merely the One who has a Word—He is the Word. Drawing from John 1:1, the chapter emphasizes that the Logos is both the thought and the utterance of God. The Logos is “a thought or concept” and “the expression or utterance of that thought.” Thus, before creation existed, God’s own inner intention—His conceptual purpose—stood as the primal reality. When God spoke, His thought became utterance, and that utterance unfolded into living reality throughout the universe. Creation itself is the manifestation of divine intention.

God’s thoughts are His counsel, His purpose, and His plan. Scripture affirms that “the counsel of Yahweh standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations” (Ps. 33:11). The chapter notes that both “purpose” and “thoughts” translate the Hebrew machashabah, meaning that God’s thoughts are His purpose. They express His intention toward His creation, especially toward His chosen people. David recognized this intimate divine attention: “Many, O Yahweh my God, are thy wonderful works…and thy thoughts which are to us‑ward” (Ps. 40:5). God’s purpose is not abstract—it is personal, directed toward His offspring.

This purpose became incarnate in the person of Yahshua, the Word made flesh. John 1:14 is central: “The Word…became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” The chapter stresses that the Word-made-flesh is the embodiment of God’s eternal purpose, the living manifestation of divine thought. To understand God’s purpose is to understand the grace and truth Yahshua carried. To think God’s thoughts and align with His intention is to please the Father.

Yet when the Purpose Incarnate walked among His own creation, “the world knew him not” and “his own received him not” (John 1:9–11). Still, those who did receive Him were given power to become the sons of God. Receiving Him means receiving His thoughts, His intention, His purpose. Believing on His name means believing in what His name signifies—His identity as the embodiment of God’s eternal plan.

God’s Purpose: Sharing Himself with His Offspring

The chapter then turns to the experiential dimension of divine purpose. God calls certain vessels—His sons and daughters-to-be—by awakening desire within them. He stirs hunger for truth, reveals Himself in glimpses, and guides them through both suffering and blessing. Over time, they perceive that “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28). Their lives begin to change; selfishness diminishes, peace increases, and they recognize that God is shaping them for something beyond themselves.

These chosen ones are descendants of Adam, created in God’s image. While other humans existed before Adam (as implied by Cain’s marriage), Adam’s lineage carries a special destiny. God foreknew certain individuals among Adam’s descendants and predestined them to be conformed to the image of His Son. Romans 8:29 is foundational: “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son.” Before their earthly birth, God ordained their destiny—to become siblings of Yahshua, bearing His likeness.

Those whom God predestined, He also called, justified, and glorified. The chapter emphasizes that in God’s mind, this process is already complete: “It is already done and over with in God’s mind before it ever happens here on earth.” Romans 8:30 is quoted to show the seamless chain of divine action. God’s purpose is not reactive; it is predetermined, sovereign, and irresistible.

This Is God’s Doing, Not Ours

The chapter insists that humans contribute nothing to their calling. God saves and calls “not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace” (2 Tim. 1:9). No amount of religious effort can make one a son or daughter of God. The calling is rooted in God’s eternal purpose, given “before the world began.” This means the elect existed spiritually with God before creation, receiving their destiny from Him in eternity.

The Inheritance of the Sons and Daughters

The elect have obtained an inheritance—nothing less than the right to inherit all things and reign with the King of the Universe. Their destiny was prearranged before the world existed. God “works all things after the counsel of His own will,” shaping history toward the consummation of His plan in Christ (Eph. 1:9–12). The chapter highlights the “staggering thing” Paul describes: that those destined in Christ have been promised a share in everything that will one day belong to Him.

Summary of Key Doctrinal Themes

The chapter concludes by summarizing the major theological concepts that shape God’s purpose for His sons and daughters:

  • Purpose: God’s plan is deliberate, eternal, and centered on reproducing Himself in His offspring. Nothing is accidental.
  • Predestination: God assigned a royal destiny to certain individuals before their earthly birth.
  • Foreknowledge: God knew His elect before they entered the world.
  • Election: God chooses specific humans to fulfill His will.
  • Grace: God favors His elect, predisposes them to respond to Him, and grants them deep knowledge of His purpose.
  • Kings and Priests: The elect will receive immortality, perform greater works, and serve as God’s ruling family—His inner circle—mediating divine blessing to creation.

The chapter presents a sweeping vision of divine intentionality. God’s eternal purpose is not merely a plan but His own inner thought expressed through the Logos. Creation, redemption, and glorification are all movements of this single divine intention. The elect are not accidental participants but chosen vessels, foreknown and predestined to bear the image of Yahshua. Their calling is rooted in eternity, their transformation is guided by God’s sovereign hand, and their destiny is to inherit all things as sons and daughters of the Most High.

In essence, the chapter unveils the Father’s heart as a fountain of eternal purpose—unchanging, unstoppable, and lovingly directed toward His offspring. The elect are the living fulfillment of God’s ancient intention, chosen to share His nature, His glory, and His kingdom.

The Manifestation of the Sons of God–What the World Needs Now

This world has one major need right now at the beginning of the 21st Century.  The world doesn’t need another politician telling the people what they want to hear.  The world doesn’t need a steady robust economy to help it through the hard times that have been prophesied upon it.  No.  The world needs the sons of God to arrive on the scene.  They must come forth for these last days.

The whole creation, the apostle Paul wrote, (whether it knows it or not), is anxiously awaiting the sons of God to come upon the world stage.  For the sons of God will have something that all mortals walking the face of the earth must have.  They will have the key that will set the whole creation free from the chains of a certain physical death.  These children of the Most High are God’s elect, His sons made in His image, and they are what this world needs.  They are the ones who will have cut through all of the deception and vice in this world system.  They alone will see the Spirit and walk in the Spirit and be filled with the Spirit of the living Yahweh.  They will build the old waste places and build the spiritual walls to the heavenly city.

Why the World Needs the Sons of God

The creation has purposely been subjected to mortality by its Creator God. The impending gloom of a certain death is no accident or aberration of God’s  original  plan.  It  has  been  His  will  all  along  for  death  to  come to all living.  And then, a few mortals will be brought by Him to an awareness of the abiding power of His spiritual presence and will become His actual spiritual children. He will change them and will engulf them with immortality one day soon.   And it is through them that the whole creation will finally come to know this glorious liberty from a certain physical death. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.  For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21, NIV. 

     Every living thing on this planet will die; the whole creation will decay and go back to dust.  And we, this earthly creation, are “in bondage of corruption,” as it says in the King James Version.

The word “corruption” is translated from the Greek word phthora, #5356 in Strong’s.  It means “decay.”  Its root comes from #5351 phthio, to waste, shrivel, or wither.  We, the creation, are bound to become decaying matter someday.  And all of us, be we religious or not, are groaning under the impending physical doom that awaits us.

All of us have a built in desire to live forever.  Every ancient culture, without exception, was concerned with this impending gloom of an early exit from life.  All the ancient religions were concerned about how to secure immortality  for  the  mortal.   And  so  it  is  with religions today.  Man keeps on waiting, waiting, waiting for something real that will happen in order to deliver them from a certain death.

The creation is like the wife of the Creator, who is in the  deep  pains  of childbirth.  She is struggling to deliver her  children,  the  sons  of God.  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8: 22-23, KJV.

The whole creation is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the sons of God because they are the first ones who will be released from mortality’s chains.  They will be the first ones who will not have to taste death.  And then after they are made known, the creation can look forward to its redemption.  That is how important the sons of God are.  When they are adopted or placed as sons, then a new era begins—an era where immortals will stride the earth, showing forth God’s way.

We Who Have Some Truth Also Desperately Need the Sons of God

Just look around us.  What do we see in every corner?  We see lurid trash in political high places, filthy-minded  movies and TV.  There is no shame to the world system.  And it is not getting any better.  So we try to lock in on the word of God.  We endeavor to glimpse a truth here, a truth there.  Some of us are trying to lead a holy life, but we “see through a glass darkly.”  We know, or should know that we are not walking in all truth.  For if we were, we would be bearing the same spiritual fruit as the prophets and apostles of God.  And we can’t seem to get in agreement and one accord with other sincere followers of Christ.

As  a  large  body  of  people,  we  can’t  see  eye  to   eye enough to get together.  Divisions abound.  We, if we are blessed, have a place to meet with a few other people who share some of our own beliefs, but something is dras-tically missing.  The unity of the Spirit is only a dream, for one group does not see eye to eye with another.  We are to be in one mind and one accord, and yet, who is to say just what that one mind is?  Who has the authority to say for sure anything?  Who has a sure word? There are several thousand “Christian” denominations, and they are growing exponentially daily.  There is probably a different concept of God and His plan for every one of His professing followers.

And it appears that the enemy is gaining ground, and we, the body of Christ, because of our disagreements and lack of unity, are seemingly losing ground as far as any “great move of truth” is concerned.

So what is the answer to this dilemma?  It is as if Yahweh Himself is needed to come down and just flat appear to His select few, whoever they are!  That would clear up the dim vision of those He has chosen.  They would definitely “get on the same page” after that shared glorious experience.  In the light of His own countenance and glow filling the room each would be in, He would straighten out off-concepts, purge out old leaven, old hypocrisies, and false concepts of Himself.  There would be no self-delusion if the King Himself came down to a handful!

Then a fire would well up from out of their bones!  Then they would cry to His people in His stead.  They would be His voice with his word welling up and out as springs gush out making rivers where dry land once was.

That is what we all need.  We need a sure word.  We need the Captain of our faith Himself to get a cadre of His brothers to catch on fire and, in turn, ignite the world.  We need a group of people baptized with the Spirit and with fire.   We need them!   We groan within ourselves, longing for someone to stand in the gap between God and the world.

That is the only thing that will ever turn this world upside down—if the people of the world were ready and knew they had a need for God in human form, had a need for the sons of the living God.

This whole creation is crying and groaning looking for someone sincere and true to believe in.  The heroes are gone; the people run to their idols of music and movies.  Those are their gods—gods who cannot see or hear them and their longings and needs, for their gods can see no one but themselves.  The whole creation does not know it, but they are groaning and longing for the manifestation of the sons of God.  And these sons will walk with the Lamb wherever He goes, for they shall be like Him.  These are they who will do the greater works that the Master spoke of.

It All Hinges on the Sons, But Do They Know Who They Are?

Yes, the manifestation of the sons of God is of extreme importance in God’s plan, but do they know who they are?  Do they realize their calling that He has placed on them?   Do  they  know  that  He  knew  them  long  before their earthly sojourn began?  Do they at present realize that  He  has  already  given  them  a glorious destiny—a destiny that has them justified from sin, set apart for this special work, and also glorified from heaven?  Does God’s elect, His chosen ones, know these things?

Have they called on His name and restored their heart back to Him?  But if they haven’t believed on Him, then how are they to call on Him?  And how can they believe on this God if they have never heard Him, never heard His Spirit, never heard Him who is the Word?  They are going to have to hear Him being spoken out of the mouth of another son in order to believe on Him.  And how shall these prospective sons hear unless there be a preacher?  And who is really going to be effective as a preacher?  The world is full of preachers.  Anyone who thinks they have heard from God calls himself a preacher.  The future sons will be reached by those who proclaim the truth.  And these proclaimers will be sent.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved.  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

Christ: From the Lamb to the Warrior-King

“Arm yourselves with the same mind”

Intro: To know Christ and the power of his resurrection, to know Him as He is, we must cease to look at him after the flesh. In other words, though we have known Him in his fleshly encounter with the cross, which is indeed important, we should not continue to look at Him from that perspective.  

Us dying with Him is the beginning of growing spiritually. But Christ has moved on, and He desires us to move on with Him. “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we Him no more” (II Cor. 5:16).

Christ’s duty some 2,000 years ago was to serve as the Lamb of God that “takes away the sins of the world.” But now, He is the Warrior-King in exile, and He is coming back with a vengeance. For He has said, “Vengeance is mine, sayeth the LORD.” We cannot truly grow to full maturity in being His manifested 100-fold fruit-bearing sons and daughters unless we see Him as He now is.  We must begin to see Him, not only as our King, but also the mighty Commander of all heavenly forces who will purge this earth of evil during the glorious days of His return.

The New Testament presents Jesus Christ/Yahshua, not only as the sacrificial Lamb who redeems humanity, but also as the Divine Warrior‑King who fulfills and intensifies the Old Testament portrait of Yahweh as the God of war, the Commander of heavenly armies, and the One who fights to reclaim His creation. The Lamb who was slain rises as the Warrior/King who conquers, waging holy war to take back the earth from the powers of darkness.

The Old Testament Foundation: Yahweh the Divine Warrior

The Old Testament consistently portrays Yahweh as a God who fights for His people and wages war against evil. After the Red Sea deliverance, Moses sings, “The LORD [Yahweh] is a man of war” (Exodus 15:3). This is not metaphor but identity. Yahweh marches before Israel (Judges 5:4), thunders from Sinai (Psalm 68:7–8), and rides with “chariots… twenty thousand, even thousands of angels” (Psalm 68:17). He trains His people for battle (Psalm 144:1) and personally dons armor: “He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head” (Isaiah 59:17).

Yahweh is also the “LORD of hosts”—YHWH Sabaoth—the Commander of angelic armies (1 Samuel 17:45). Several translations render “LORD of hosts” as “LORD of armies.” His heavenly forces appear as “horses and chariots of fire” surrounding Elisha (2 Kings 6:17). The prophets envision Him going forth to battle: “Then shall the LORD/Yahweh go forth, and fight against those nations” (Zechariah 14:3).

This Divine Warrior theme is not peripheral; it is central to God’s identity as King. The question is: How does the New Testament apply this imagery to Christ?

The Lamb Who Conquers: Christ as the Fulfillment of the Warrior‑King

The New Testament does not diminish the Divine Warrior motif—it heightens it. The same God who fought for Israel now fights in and through His Messiah. The Lamb is not passive; He is slain and standing (Revelation 5:6), and His sacrifice becomes the very weapon by which He conquers.

1. Christ as the Captain of the Lord’s Armies

The mysterious “Captain of the host of the LORD” who appears to Joshua (Joshua 5:13–15) receives worship and speaks with divine authority. The New Testament reveals that Christ is the One who commands the angels: “the Son of Man shall come… with his angels” (Matthew 16:27). He will “send his angels” to gather His elect (Matthew 24:31). He is “revealed from heaven with his mighty angels” (2 Thessalonians 1:7). The Commander of the heavenly host in the Old Testament is the same One who leads the armies of heaven in Revelation.

2. Christ Wearing Yahweh’s Own Armor

Isaiah 59:17 describes Yahweh putting on a breastplate and helmet. Paul explicitly identifies this armor as belonging to Christ and shared with His people: “Put on the whole armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11). The “helmet of salvation” and “breastplate of righteousness” are not Roman metaphors—they are Yahweh’s own battle gear, now given to the saints because they fight under Christ’s command. Christ is the Divine Warrior who equips His soldiers with His own armor.

3. Christ Making War to Reclaim the Earth

Revelation 19 is the New Testament’s clearest Divine Warrior scene. John sees heaven opened and Christ riding forth:

  • “In righteousness he judges and makes war” (19:11).
  • “His eyes were as a flame of fire” (19:12).
  • “Out of his mouth goes a sharp sword” (19:15).
  • “The armies which were in heaven followed him” (19:14).
  • His title: “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (19:16).

This is Yahweh the Warrior of Exodus 15 and Isaiah 59 revealed in the person of Jesus/Yahshua. The Lamb who was slain now rides as the Warrior‑King to reclaim the earth from the dragon, the beast, and the kings of the nations.

4. Christ’s War in the Heavenly Realm

Revelation 12 describes a cosmic conflict: “There was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon” (12:7). Though Michael leads the battle, the victory is explicitly attributed to Christ: “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb” (12:11). The Lamb’s blood is a weapon. The cross is not defeat—it is the decisive strike in the war to reclaim creation.

5. Christ as the Stronger Man Who Overthrows the Enemy

Christ describes His mission in warrior terms: “If I cast out devils… then the kingdom of God is come” (Matthew 12:28). He speaks of binding “the strong man” (12:29) to plunder his house. This is conquest language. Christ invades Satan’s territory and liberates captives.

6. Christ’s People as Soldiers in His War

Believers are not spectators. They are enlisted. “Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). They fight “principalities… powers… rulers of the darkness” (Ephesians 6:12). They overcome “by the blood of the Lamb” (Revelation 12:11). His shed blood that has put our feet on the glory road is now being used in the full spiritual war that He is waging. The church participates in Christ’s ongoing campaign to reclaim the earth.

Conclusion: The Warrior‑King Reclaims His World

The New Testament does not present two Christs—a gentle Lamb and a fierce Warrior. It presents one Christ whose sacrificial death is the opening act of His cosmic war. The Lamb conquers by dying, rises to lead the armies of heaven, and returns to overthrow every rival power. The Divine Warrior of the Old Testament is revealed in the New as Christ, who fights not with earthly weapons but with truth, righteousness, judgment, and the power of His indestructible life. The war is not metaphorical. It is the real conflict for the dominion of the earth, and you and I are in the big middle of it—if we make our calling and election sure by forsaking childlike desires. Knowing this: It is now Christ the Warrior‑King in us, “the hope of glory.”

The Unveiling of God’s Sons: Love’s Final Act

God’s final act of love for this world is the unveiling of His children during these latter days. These sons and daughters are not the average church-going Christians. They will know that everything that has ever taken place on earth is prerequisite to this final revealing.

All the apostles spoke of their existence in His plan. The apostle John said that we are the sons (children) of God and that we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (I John 3:2). Being like him is not just being saved and going to church. No, He’s promising to do the same things in the earth, the same miracle working power continuing.

John also said that when we receive the Spirit of Christ, God will give us “power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name.” Christ’s Hebrew name is Yahshua. It means Yah is the Savior (John 1:12).

The central theme of Paul’s writings was God revealing His sons to the world. He said that the entire creation “groans and travails in pain waiting for the adoption, waiting for the “manifestation of the sons of God” (Romans 8:19-22). He said that Christ was the first-born son, “the first born among many brothers” (8: 29).

Peter Confirms It

Peter calls the sons of God “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people… the people of God” (I Peter 2 :9). He also says that God has given us promises wherein we are “partakers of the divine nature” (II Pet. 1:4). We now take part in God’s sinless nature, growing up in Him. Not Many Mighty, Not Many Noble Are Called and Chosen

God has deliberately chosen people who are not powerful. In fact, these future 100-fold sons and daughters of God are taken from a lower state on the earth, so that when God effects great spiritual changes in their lives, and they begin to do the “greater works,” then they will know who is doing it–God and not them. “That no flesh should glory in His presence” (I Cor.1:29).

They are new recruits in Gideon’s army; they are very few; they are without weapons for earthly combat. These future manifested sons will be despised like Goliath despised David, but God has chosen them, and they will surrender to His call. And they will help bring an end to Satan’s government. This is the revelation that the stories from the Old Testament tell us.

The offspring of God, who once were dead in their sins, have now been made alive by his faith in Christ’s resurrection. God, “declaring the end from the beginning,” sees the end product of God’s spiritual life cycle within them and “calls those things that be not [Christ fully in them] as though they were.” (Romans 4:17).

Finally, this divine unveiling is not a distant hope but a present reality unfolding in the hearts of those who believe. The Spirit of Christ empowers His children to walk in the fullness of their identity—not merely as followers, but as manifest sons carrying His likeness and authority. As creation groans in anticipation, the sons of God arise, revealing Yahweh’s glory through lives transformed and miracles continued. The Final Act of the Play, “The Book of Life”

Every war waged on the battlefields of this blood-stained earth, every government’s shady dealings in back rooms with the super-rich, every sober gathering of this world’s elite as they plot out the next step to One World Government, and every humble gathering of God’s people who are concerned with the above–everything has led us to the final act in the performance of The Play that the Creator is staging.

The Final Act of The Play

The final act written by the Author of the Book of Life is soon to be finished.  It stars the Creator Himself as the protagonist, that glorious and righteous Spirit-of-Love clothed in His heavenly spiritual body.  He is known in the English speaking world as Jesus Christ, and in Hebrew His name is Yahshua [meaning “Yah Is Savior” in Hebrew].  The climax of The Play happens during this final act, which is known as the “time of the end” of this present evil world system.

In it we see the prince of darkness as the antagonist, with every advantage, who goes about deceiving the whole world and almost everyone in it.  He is an invisible spirit, “the prince of the power of the air,” who enters into the minds of humans, tempting them to do evil things.  And he has tricked all but a select few into believing him that he is the “Peace-giver” and not Christ–that he is the savior of the world.

The Leader of the One World Government

Satan will dwell fully in the antagonist, who is known by many names in scripture: the Anti-Christ, the Deceiver of the brethren, the devil, the Beast, et al.  He is the counterfeit Christ, come to save the world from itself, for in the final act, wars, famines, earthquakes, tsunamis, asteroid collisions and more shall plague the earth, according to the script of The Play, written in the Book of Life, found in the Bible.

So the whole world will “wonder after” this handsome, cosmopolitan leader of the One World Government, this New World Order.  He will be a sweet talker, with honeyed lips and candied words couched in viral smiles and will schmooze his way into the hearts of the masses.

Many have been his prototype: Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar, Charlemagne, the many Popes who still hold the old pagan title Pontifice Maximus, Napoleon, Hitler, and now those in our day who call for, or who are sympathetic with the NWO and its One Word Government.

We are living in the end time!  I knew about this some forty years ago, but then it was in the mists of the future, like looking back into the mists of the past.  It was covered up, difficult to get information on.  We called it a conspiracy, but now its actions are done in the open.  They are blatant and audacious, for they believe that because of the apathy of the masses, they will succeed.  It is stunning to see it go that way so rapidly.

The Climax

This is the setting for the climax in which Satan’s government will fall, smashed to pieces by Christ’s “stone kingdom,” the Kingdom (Government) of Heaven.

Christ will bring down this evil worldly empire in a spectacular way.  “Vengeance is mine, saith the LORD, I will repay.”  He will use his hidden army of heavenly projectiles, the asteroids, to smash into the earth, destroying the super-rich’s plans for world domination.  This is God’s secret weapon; you can read all about it in Revelation 8 and 9.

We all know now that civilizations would be ruined by just one asteroid impact.  Movies and documentaries have given us a preview of coming events written in the prophecies.

The Unveiling of God’s Sons and Daughters

These disasters will set the final scene of the final act of  The Play.  It is during these horrible happenings that God brings forth on the earth His royal treasure–His sons and daughters.  These are redeemed from among mortal man.  These at this time will be revealed to the suffering inhabitants of the world as His progeny, His handiwork, the culmination of His patience.  For they are His offspring, the results of His reproductive process–His reproducing Himself!

Unbelievable?  “With God all things are possible.”  “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.”

These will be His rulers in the new government that He will set up literally in the earth in the aftermath of the destruction of the evil world system.  They are the crowning creative act of the Holy One.  They are the epitome of His eternal purpose.  And they will be the key players in the New Play that He will produce and direct in the next age.                                                                           Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Longing That Leads to Love—and the King Who Calls

Humanity’s endless quest for love is no accident. Beneath every poem, song, and search for human connection lies a deeper yearning—for God Himself. For “God is love” (I John 4:16). We seek echoes of Him in others, because we were made in His image, wired to respond to His divine presence. The search ends when He is found.

The Hebrew prophets and apostles testified of this love. The Son of God didn’t merely speak of it—He lived it out. By laying down His life for His friends, He offered the greatest love known to mankind (John 15:13). But the Cross was not the end. It was the invitation. For those who believe, Christ calls us to present our lives as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1)—not as martyrs for heaven’s reward, but as vessels of love to a love-starved world.

Dying to Self, Rising in Love

To walk as He walked begins at Calvary. Spiritually joining Him on the cross means our old nature dies with Him: “He that is dead is freed from sin” (Romans 6:7). This rebirth isn’t mere symbolism. It’s a transformation—freedom from the selfish life, entering into resurrection power fueled by agape love. Believing we are buried and raised with Him enables us to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4–5).

Yet many falter. Not because His power is lacking, but because corrupted doctrines and traditions stunt growth. Like children fed on spiritual junk food, many resist the sincere truth of the Word. They cling to old wine, declaring it better—unwilling to taste the new, pure doctrine (Luke 5:39).

The Overcomers…and the Tragedy of the Refusers

Thankfully, some will awaken. God has called a remnant, foreknown and chosen to be conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29). They’ll answer the high calling, decreasing so Christ can increase within them, becoming the vessels through which divine love touches all people.

But not everyone will respond. Scripture warns of those who recoil from the truth, buried in comfort, traditions, or fear. Consider the five foolish virgins—shut out from the wedding feast, unprepared for the Bridegroom (Matthew 25:1–13). Or the servant who hid his talent in the ground, scolded as “slothful and unprofitable” by the returning Master (Matthew 25:26). These are not mere metaphors; they are solemn realities.

Those who reject the call to spiritual growth will not mature into love. They will not reign. They will remain infants—content, perhaps, but barren of the fruit that restores righteousness to a broken world. What Christ seeks is a people who will reflect Him fully, expressing divine love that heals, redeems, and incarnates God once again on earth.

Answering the Highest Call

We are living in the days of the latter rain—His Spirit is being poured out. Will we remain near the nursery, or rise to sit with Him on His throne? (Revelation 3:21). Agape love is the bond of perfectness, the final attribute that completes us in Christ. Those who cultivate it will reign. Those who resist it, according to scripture, will be left behind—not out of spite, but because they rejected the very path that leads to transformation.

I believe that we will grow to be His sons and daughters, His lights shining into the deepest, darkest dungeons of the earth: To “bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound” [Think spiritually. Isaiah 61:1].

Sitting on Christ’s Throne–The Second Conditional Promise

The first conditional promise brings on the abiding of God within us, with the power that Christ and his apostles had. This enables us to receive the second promise: to rule with Him in His soon-coming Kingdom.

When conditions are met, the second promise takes us to the throne of God. Not to just view it, which would be enough for me, to just see Christ in His glory. But to be invited to sit on Christ’s throne! Next to Him! He has promised us to be seated as a monarch with living authority, working with the King Himself! He has promised us a seat on His throne upon His return to earth. He sees us as benevolent viceroys, a “royal priesthood,” (I Peter 2:9).

This is what Christ is offering to His elect—if the conditions are met. He has promised this royal seat with Him if we meet the conditions. But do we, the ones He has chosen, believe this? Very few, if any, speak about it. With this conditional promise, He has forced us to make a choice—to dwell in the 3-D world as little vulnerable babies in Christ or walk down the royal road to immortality, just like the apostles and prophets did.  

So, what are the conditions for receiving the second promise?

The body of Christ in this last church age of Laodicea has got some repenting to do. Sitting with Christ on His throne is promised to those who overcome. They must overcome being lukewarm (Rev. 3:15-16). They act like they don’t need God’s plan and purpose.      

Here are Christ’s words: “You are neither cold nor hot…because you are lukewarm…I will spue you out of my mouth” (Rev. 3:15-16). These are self-proclaimed Christians He is talking to.

Christ does not like His followers lukewarm. And what makes them lukewarm? Christ explains: “Because you say, I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing, and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked.” We as a nation have become fat. Both spiritual pride and materialism permeate everything in this last age of the church. “The deceitfulness of riches” deceives the church into thinking that they do not need God’s deeper walk.  

Christ will tell us what to overcome, and how to do it. “So, I advise you to buy gold from me—gold that has been purified by fire. Then you will be rich. Also, buy white garments from me so you will not be shamed by your nakedness, and ointment for your eyes so you will be able to see” (Rev. 3:18 NLT). He is the only One who sells these spiritual commodities. The world does not have them. They are selling a different gospel.

God’s Rebuke

To do these things, one must endure His rebuke and chastening. We must be “zealous and repent.” Repent from what exactly in this context? We must repent from laissez-faire lukewarmness of desiring the earthly things and turn to the spiritual by buying from Christ the gold, the white raiment, and the eye salve. “Gold” is faith purified by trials; “white raiment” is the righteousness of the cleansed ones; the eye salve is the unction of truth so that we may see into His heavenly spiritual dimension, where everything is possible. The Promise: To sit on the throne with Christ! Many are called to this honor of becoming a son or daughter, manifested in power and glory as Christ is. Sadly, few will answer the call.

The Conditions: Repent of lukewarmness. Buy from Christ the spiritual gold, white raiment, and eye salve. It is called “buying the truth with sacrifice.” And it starts with study and prayer. The hungry will get on fire to learn of Him and make the spiritual changes He desires for us. Lukewarmness will evaporate in His fire. To sit on Christ’s throne with Him is a stupendous future that He has promised us. We can meet the conditions. We must meet them—for His sake and the Kingdom’s sake.   Kenneth Wayne Hancock
