Abide in Me: The Spirit Sent in the Name “Yahshua”

The Name, the Spirit, and the Fruit: Three Threads Woven Into One Revelation

There are seasons when the Spirit lays scattered truths before us, not as finished doctrines but as threads waiting to be woven. These notes, carried in my journal since 2003, have ripened into a single vision. Three truths appear again and again: the Name Yahshua, the abiding of His Spirit, and the bearing of spiritual fruit. At first, they seem like separate teachings, but they are in fact one revelation unfolding in three movements.

Believing the message contained in the Name Yahshua brings the Spirit into us.

The Spirit’s indwelling enables us to abide in the Spirit.

The abiding produces spiritual fruit. Or more tightly: The Name reveals the Savior; the Spirit unites us to Him, and the abiding manifests His life in us.

I. The Name Yahshua — The Revelation of Who Saves

Scripture declares that a man is condemned “because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” (John 3:18). Condemnation is not merely unbelief in a person, but unbelief in the message contained in the Name. The Hebrew name Yahshua means “Yahweh is the Savior.”

To believe in His Name is to believe that:

  • Yahweh Himself has come in human form,
  • Yahweh was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself,
  • Yahweh took on flesh to offer that flesh as the sacrifice for sin.

Rejecting this is rejecting Yahweh-in-the-Son. Accepting it is receiving the revelation of who God truly is.

II. The Spirit Sent in His Name — The Indwelling Witness

The Master promised, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things” (John 14:26). The Spirit comes in the Name because the Spirit confirms the truth of the Name.

Believing the message inside Yahshua’s Name opens the door for the Spirit to enter. The Spirit is the inward witness that the Father was in the Son, and that the Son is in us. The Spirit brings all things to remembrance because He is the same Spirit that dwelt in Yahshua from the beginning.

This is why John writes, “He that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.” The Spirit enables the doing, and the doing reveals the abiding.

III. Abiding in Him — The Union That Bears Fruit

The Master’s words are clear: “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5).

Abiding (μένω) means to remain, dwell, continue, stay. It is the language of union.

Fruit is not the result of human effort; it is the result of divine indwelling. Christ said, “I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit… that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you” (John 15:16).

Here the three threads meet:

  • The Name reveals who He is.
  • The Spirit enters because we believe that Name.
  • Abiding becomes possible because the Spirit dwells within.
  • Fruit appears because His life flows through us.

To ask “in His Name” is to ask according to the truth of His identity — Yahweh dwelling in the Son, now dwelling in us by the Spirit. Such asking is always answered, for it is the will of God that we bear much fruit.

IV. The Witness Within

“He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself” (1 John 5:10). The witness is the Spirit. The Spirit is sent in the Name. The Name reveals Yahweh as Savior.

Thus, the believer becomes a living testimony that Yahweh has come in the flesh, that He abides in us, and that His life is now bearing fruit through us.

This is the golden cord tying the three threads together: Believing the Name brings the Spirit. The Spirit enables abiding. Abiding produces fruit. This is the will of God. This is the life of God. The Spirit of Christ and the Spirit of Antichrist

A Study on the Identity of God and the Discernment of Spirits

The true Spirit of God is identified by one central confession: that Yahweh—the eternal Father and Creator—has come in the flesh as Yahshua the Messiah. Anyone who denies that the Father Yahweh dwelt in the Son is operating under the spirit of antichrist, which means “instead of Christ” from the Greek.

The apostle John teaches that the ultimate test of spiritual discernment is not emotion, religious activity, or outward appearance, but confession—specifically, the confession of who God is and how He came among us. To discern the Spirit of God from the spirit of antichrist, we must begin where Scripture begins: with the name and identity of God Himself.

The Name of God and the Incarnation of Yahweh

The first step in spiritual discernment is to get the name of God right. Scripture reveals that Yahshua is the name of the incarnate Yahweh—Yah in human form. Yahweh is the Father, and Christ Himself testified that the Father dwelling within Him performed the miracles (John 14:10).

Yahweh declares plainly: “For I am the LORD [YAHWEH] your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior… and beside Me there is no savior.” (Isaiah 43:3, 11) Therefore, the one who confesses that Yahweh is the Savior, and that He has come in the flesh as the Anointed One, is confessing the truth revealed by the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of God vs. the Spirit of Antichrist

John gives the test: “Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. This is the spirit of the antichrist…” (1 John 4:2–3). To “confess Christ come in the flesh” is not merely to acknowledge that a man named Jesus once lived. It is to confess who came in that flesh: Yahweh Himself—the Father—dwelling in the Son.

John later calls this “the Spirit of truth.” The “spirit of error” denies that Yahweh has come in the flesh of Christ. He sharpens the point: “Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son” (1 John 2:22). To deny the Son is to deny the Father, because the Father was in the Son. To deny the Father in the Son is to deny the Son Himself. This is the essence of the antichrist spirit.

The Witness of the Spirit

John also teaches that eternal life is in the Son (1 John 5:11). Paul calls this the “Spirit of life” (Romans 8:2), and John says, “the Spirit is truth” (1 John 5:6). This Spirit bears witness with our spirit (Romans 8:16), testifying to the truth of God’s identity.

What truth does the Spirit testify? That Yahweh, the great Creator Spirit, poured Himself into a human vessel—the Son Yahshua—whose very name means “Yahweh is the Savior.” This is the witness the Spirit gives inside every believer.

Believing in the Name of the Son

John concludes his first epistle with this assurance: “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life…” (1 John 5:13)

To “believe in the name of the Son of God” is to believe that the Father was in the Son, and that through this union Yahweh saves His people from their sins. “He who believes in the Son has the witness in himself” (1 John 5:10). That person has the Spirit. That person has eternal life.

John echoes this in his Gospel: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). To receive Him is to believe in His name—Yahshua, the same name as Joshua of old, meaning “Savior.”

Conclusion: The Foundation of Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth begins with getting the identity of God right. Everything in the life of faith flows from this revelation: Yahweh the Father has come in the flesh as Yahshua the Messiah.

This is the Spirit of truth. This is the confession of the Spirit of God. This is the foundation of eternal life. To deny this is to embrace the spirit of antichrist. To confess it is to walk in the light, to receive the witness of the Spirit, and to enter into the life of the sons of God.

Who Is the King? Yahweh the King of Glory Revealed in the Son

Psalm 24 opens with a majestic question: “Who is this King of glory?” (Psalm 24:8). The answer is unmistakable: “Yahweh strong and mighty… Yahweh of hosts, He is the King of glory” (Psalm 24:8,10). The Old Testament leaves no ambiguity—Yahweh alone is the King. Psalm 47:2 declares, “Yahweh most high… is a great King over all the earth,” and verse 7 adds, “God is the King of all the earth.” Isaiah 43:15 reinforces this truth: “I am Yahweh… your King.” Zechariah 14:9 summarizes the entire testimony: “Yahweh shall be King over all the earth… His name one.” There is one King, one throne, one divine ruler.

Yet the New Testament repeatedly identifies Christ as the King. The wise men ask, “Where is He that is born King of the Jews?” (Matthew 2:2). The crowds shout, “Blessed is the King of Israel” (John 12:13). Jesus Himself affirms, “Thou sayest that I am a King. To this end was I born” (John 18:37). Paul calls Him “the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings” (1 Timothy 6:15). Revelation 19:16 seals the identity: “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

This raises a profound question: If Yahweh is the King, and Christ is the King, do we have two Kings? Scripture forbids such a division. Zechariah 14:9 insists there is one Yahweh and one King. The only biblical conclusion is that Christ is Yahweh the King of glory revealed in human form.

The Old Testament prepares us for this revelation by showing Yahweh appearing visibly as a Man. In Genesis 18, “Yahweh appeared unto him” and Abraham saw “three men” (Genesis 18:1–2). Yahweh eats, speaks, and walks with Abraham. In Genesis 32:24–30, Jacob wrestles with a Man yet declares, “I have seen God face to face.” Hosea 12:3–5 confirms the One he wrestled with was “Yahweh, the God of hosts.” In Joshua 5:13–15, the Commander of Yahweh’s army receives worship and speaks as Yahweh Himself. These appearances reveal a visible Yahweh, distinct from the invisible Father whom no man has seen (John 1:18).

The New Testament identifies this visible Yahweh with Christ. John 12:41 states that Isaiah saw Christ’s glory when he saw Yahweh on the throne in Isaiah 6. Jesus declares, “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58), claiming the divine name revealed in Exodus 3:14. Paul writes, “In Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9). Hebrews 1:8 records the Father addressing the Son: “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever.” Christ is not a second deity or a lesser King—He is Yahweh’s own visible manifestation.

Thus the Old Testament King—Yahweh—is the same King revealed in the New Testament as Yahshua the Messiah. The Father, who is invisible, dwells fully in the Son, who is His visible Image (Colossians 1:15; John 14:9–10). There are not two Kings, but one divine King revealed in two modes: the invisible Father and the visible Yahweh who became flesh.

Therefore, when David asks, “Who is this King of glory?” The Old and New Testament answer: It is the Father Yahweh, clothed in human form, who is called Christ, the Anointed One. He is “the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings” (I Tim. 6:15).

WAR! Good God, Y’all! What Is It Good For?

“Absolutely nothing!” answers the choir resolutely.  

I get Edwin Starr’s sentiment. War. I hate it. I was in a big one. Vietnam. It was sickening to see and hear the dying young men, day in and day out. And for what? Of course, most are going to agree that there is absolutely nothing that war is good for. But according to the Spirit in the prophet Isaiah, God sees it differently.

I have learned that war is history’s twisted tale. And war is like tribute that must be paid for a tribe to move into supposed greener pastures. But the pastures putrefy in the slosh of conflict. And the pride and hubris of the leaders won’t let them pause and think about what they are unleashing on the people.

Wars—A Sign of the End Times

Christ speaks of “wars and rumors of wars.” He is talking about wars that have a connection to ­the Holy Land. As you know, war is raging in Gaza, Israel, and Lebanon. Rumors abound about a regional war between Iran and their proxies and Israel and the U.S. Today’s middle east wars and rumors of a wider war are imminent. Israel at war is one of the major signs that we are living in “the time of the end.”

Christ was teaching His disciples at the temple. They asked Him what we are asking Him today, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world” (Matt. 24:3). The first sign was not to be deceived by counterfeit false prophets (vs. 4-5).

The second sign was about war. “And when you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom” (Mark 13:7-8).  

Wars in and around the Holy Land must take place, says Christ. Must? To Get to Christ’s return and the end of the world system, there must come wars and more wars. So don’t be troubled, Christ is saying; wars must happen. “These things must come to pass” before the end comes.

But, why? These many wars shall happen because Yahweh has ordained it. Seeds of hatred have been sown. They must come to harvest. God wills these things to be. For the wars all over the world will help prepare for Christ’s return as King of God’s Kingdom. The wars will also bring on the end of the present world system. God gives a clear picture of how He will use war to prepare the way for Christ’s return.

Yahweh Foments the Wars

The Spirit of Christ in Isaiah reveals it in detail in a prophetic picture called “the burden of Egypt” in chapter 19. “Egypt” is universally recognized as a symbol of the world. Isaiah 19 is an extended metaphor of how the whole world will disintegrate at the time of the end through the wars that God allows. We see in 19:1 that Yahweh is directly involved in fomenting wars in the world. Yahweh is a Spirit that “shall come into Egypt.”

Yahweh will enter the minds of the peoples of the world. The result? “The idols of Egypt [the world] shall be moved at His presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the midst of it.” God will shake it up. A man’s idol is who or what he is in awe of. But God will shake the people’s confidence in whom or what they have trusted. He will do it through His presence. The people of the world will have their hearts melt in fear.  

God will challenge and shake up their whole belief system. “And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight everyone against his brother, and everyone against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom” (v. 2).

God will do this. And all this turmoil, commotion, and war will cause the world’s spirit to fail and be emptied of its efficacy and strength. The world system and its leaders and followers will be consumed by war and its fears. For God “will destroy the counsel” of the world. Entities that were trusted will fail. “And they shall seek to their idols, and to the charmers” and to all the purveyors of peace. But to no avail. War will have consumed all reason.

Then Yahweh will deliver the world [Egypt] “into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them…” (verses 3-4). This is obviously a reference to the “man of sin,” the counterfeit world savior, the anti-Christ, the head of the one world government as seen in Revelation. How could the anti-Christ take over and rule the earth? Through national exhaustion caused by incessant war! It has always been “divide and conquer.”

However, by Yah’s great mercy, we see at the end of the chapter how the whole world transitions into blessed territories under the rule of Christ the King. It ends in a picture of reconciliation for the world and its nations, under the wings of God. After the establishment of His government throughout the earth, He will say to the nations, “Blessed be Egypt my people and Assyria, the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance” (Isa. 19:25). Assyria is the work of His hands!  

All these wars and the strife they cause is all orchestrated by God himself: “The work of my hands.” Through the fiery crucible of war comes God’s destiny for the nations, a glorious lasting peace throughout the earth, headed by the Prince of peace, the Son of God and the world’s Savior. HalleluYah!

Man has his own noble thoughts about war. But we must remember what He said. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD [Yahweh]”. The good news is that we can make our thoughts His thoughts by “casting down imaginations…and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (II Cor. 10:5).

All this is why wars “must come to pass” before Christ returns to establish His Kingdom.

Faith and the Power to Heal

[From Journal entry, 3-17-19]

Christ desires us to walk in the same power to heal that He and His apostles walked in. That is our high calling. He wants us to spiritually grow to the point that the power of the Spirit is not only present, but also active as a miraculous life force.

This power went out of Christ into the woman stricken with a blood disease. He was walking in 100-fold power and did not need to raise His voice and shout, “Be healed!” The woman believed, and her faith in the Savior’s nature and authority pulled the power to heal her out of Him.

So, what were the major elements in this demonstration of his power toward the woman? At that moment in time, her belief matched the Savior’s. For we know that He fully believed in His own power and ability. For His power was like igniting dynamite. In fact, the Greek word for power here is dynamis (Greek 1411).

The match that ignited the power was the woman’s faith (belief) that Christ could and would heal her. There were many who touched the Savior in the press of the crowd. But she was the only one who was healed. “For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.”

“He said to her, Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”

Several times Christ would ask the person if they believed that He could heal them. In fact, He cleared the area of all unbelief before He could heal anyone. “And He could not do many mighty works because of their unbelief” in Nazareth. “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country” (Mark 5:24-43; 6:4-5). The people who knew you when will only see you after the flesh, judging you through their memories of you before your conversion to Christ. They will not believe that God is in you doing the healing.

Consequently, belief is the main ingredient. Secondly, the disciple must have authority and compassion. “He was moved with compassion. And healed their sick” (Matthew 14:14; Matt. 9: 36; Mark 6: 34).

The unbelief must be expelled before God heals. Christ always cast the evil spirits out before he started healing. Perhaps when He got rid of the unbelieving doubters, he was casting away the evil spirits–like when He only took three disciples to the raising up of Jairus’ daughter.

All this notwithstanding, where is the source of this power to heal? It comes from  Yahweh. All things are of Him. How do we grow to the point where He would use us in this manner?

He has placed in our hearts this desire to help others, to heal their wounds and their suffering. We have the desire. You and me. And I write this “not that I have already obtained [the power to heal at will] or have already become perfect, but I press on…” (Phil. 3:12).

Healing is one of the gifts of the Spirit (I Cor. 12:7-11). It is an action of the Spirit of Yah streaming out through us. He has promised His sons and daughters that He would use them to heal. We are but channels of His power.

But first, we must acquire knowledge about His power and how and why He uses it at certain times of His choosing. We must know this: “There is a time for every purpose under heaven.” There is “a time to heal” (Ecc. 3:1-3). We will know the time; He will show us. That is why I am not running all over the country right now trying to sincerely heal people. Healings will come in God’s good time.

We must remember the prophets and patriarchs. Moses tended flocks for forty years waiting for his destiny to deliver His people. He was eighty at the burning bush. His time had come after much patience/endurance. Same for Joseph. He suffered for many years in Pharoah’s prison until the time was ripe. Then Yah enabled him to interpret the king’s dreams. He endured, knowing that “he who waits on Yahweh shall renew their strength.”

So, let us dig deep and prepare ourselves for that glorious day of healings and miracles. Let us wait upon Him, and let us learn together from our Teacher, the Spirit of Truth.

Finally, it is not to say that our Father the Healer has not already touched our lives many times. We have been talking about where few ever go in their growth, the few who like eagles soar to the heights of the 100-fold growth that Peter, John, and Paul experienced.

We must prepare ourselves against that day when He flows through us like He did with His apostles. On the day that the power arrives, there will be a throng around us, with crowds of people pressing upon us, clamoring to be healed. There will be viral videos as these miracles are performed by our hands. Perhaps even a sick woman in the crowd will say, “If I could just touch their garments, I would be healed.”

Knowing Him As He Really Is—The Definition of Immortality

[Chapter 11 of the book Yah-Is-Savior: The Road to Immortality]

We are well down the road to immortality now. We have learned that wisdom is being in awe of God.  It is the first step; it is the main thing, for it is the first key that begins to unlock the treasure house of God’s knowledge. Without this awe of Him we won’t get anywhere. Then we took step two, knowing His name. Moses got some wisdom, some awe of God, at the burning bush, and then he had to know His name. It was a crucial step, to know God’s true name Yahweh.

And now we have come to our third step: Knowledge of Who He Really Is. The farther we go down this road that leads to immortality, the more is at stake. We cannot turn back now; our own hopes of transcending a certain death hangs on our steadfastness and perseverance at this time. Immortality, the elixir that our mortal mouths must drink, is the knowledge of who God really is. This knowledge is the key to unlock the secrets of eternal life. We have arrived at nothing less than the information that will catapult us over this valley of the shadow of death. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Yahshua the Messiah, whom you have sent. John 17:3. NIV.

Our hopes for arriving at immortality hinge on how well we really know Him—how well we really know His nature, His essence, His Deity, His Godhead. For us, eternal life depends on whether we really know Him as He really is. We must straighten out misconceptions of who He is and how He is. 

Those of us on this road to immortality must realize that only He can grant us true knowledge of Himself.  It will not come through man’s conception of who and how He is. We must believe upon Him in true knowledge “as the scripture has said,” the way the scriptures really portray Him.

But that, of course, is the problem.We all have our own conception of Him.  We think that we have just “come up with it,” but we have received our personal conception of God through what we have been taught by other human beings that we have come in contact with. It really gets tricky when people have studied out minutely different denominational doctrines, and even though they have “come out” of that organization, they cling tenaciously to its teachings—teachings about who He is. 

     The Savior, 2000 years ago, standing before them in a human flesh body, told them that they were searching the scriptures. They thought that eternal life was contained in those scriptures of truth. But, as the  Master  was , the very writings that they thought would yield immortality for them were the very writings that spoke of Him—the One that they were rejecting!  You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life.  These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. John 5:39-40, NIV…You study the scriptures diligently, supposing that in having them you have eternal life: yet, although their testimony points to me, you refuse to come to me for that life. NEB.

They were studying the scriptures diligently, thinking that immortality would be derived through them.  What writings were they studying that spoke about the Messiah, the Savior? What scriptures existed then?  They were the books commonly referred to as the Old Testament. Now  Yahshua, the Savior, said that those old books written by the prophets of ancient Israel, those old books spoke about HIM!     

The prophets spoke and wrote about the Savior by His very Spirit within them

Let’s go, then, to the prophets where they speak about the Messiah, specifically using the word “Savior.”  He just said in John 5 that the scriptures do testify of Him, so let us go there and see for ourselves what they are saying. Now Peter tells us that the spirit that was in those prophets was the Spirit of the Savior, Yahshua the Anointed One.  And they spoke and wrote down with the Spirit of Yahshua about this immortality, this salvation from a certain death. This salvation was the theme which the prophets pondered and explored, those who prophesied about the grace of God awaiting you.  They tried to find out what was the time, and what the circumstances, to which the spirit of Christ in them pointed. I Peter 1:10-11, NEB.

The Spirit of Messiah, which was in Isaiah the prophet said this: But now thus saith Yahweh (the LORD) that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel…For I am Yahweh thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior. Isa. 43:1,3.

Several important points emerge from this passage that are vital for our understanding of His essence, which in turn is vital for our obtaining immortality. First, the Spirit of Christ that was in Isaiah said that He was Yahweh! Thus saith Yahweh…I am Yahweh. When the prophets wrote down the words, “Thus saith Yahweh,” they were saying that Yahweh is speaking through me the following words.  Yahweh is speaking thusly.  Yahweh, the Father, the Creator, the Supreme Being is using me by speaking through me! Oh, to be used that way, the way He used the prophets!

Second, the Spirit of Christ is saying that He created and formed Jacob/ Israel.  John confirms this. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. John 1:3. Paul confirms this as well. For by him were all things created, that are in the heaven, and that are in the earth, visible or invisible…Col. 1:16.

Third, I am Yahweh thy God, the Holy One of Israel…The  Spirit  of the Messiah speaking through Isaiah now says that He is Yahweh, that He is one God and that He is Israel’s Holy One (the whole House of Israel or the 12 tribes of Jacob/Israel).

Fourth, the Spirit of the Messiah, God’s Spirit, Yahweh, breathing and speaking through Isaiah says, I am thy Savior…I, even I, am Yahweh; and beside me there is no saviour. Isa.43: 3, 11. Here Yahweh, which is the Spirit that was in the Messiah, says clearly that He is the Savior and that there is no other savior!  Yahweh, then, was inside the man Yahshua who was called the Savior, for Yahweh says that there is no other savior except Him. We trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those who believe. I Tim. 4:10. God was in Christ (the Anointed One) reconciling the world unto Himself. II Cor. 5:19. It was Yahweh in the man who was the Savior. Or, in other words, Yahweh-in-human-form is the Savior.            

Bottom line: the same Spirit that spoke through the prophets, that created Jacob/Israel and everything else, this Great Spirit God dwelt bodily in the man Yahshua the Messiah. His name Yahshua means “Yah-Is-Savior.” It was Yahweh of old, the Yahweh of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, the Yahweh of Moses, David, and all the prophets— that same Yahweh came down, leaving His spirit-body dimension.  And He came to earth in a flesh and blood human body, walked in our midst doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.  And in due time, He laid down that human body, yielded it up to a sacrificial death, and raised that body in three days to life again, so that we could be restored to His original plan of reproducing Himself. “To tell the old, old story about our Savior and His love…”

The Father’s Name Guards the Way for Agape Love

Christ said to dig deep. To find the vein of gold we must study thoroughly. The gold here is putting on Christ in the form of divine love. Christ’s prayer recorded in John 17 comes from the depths of the Father’s heart. It reveals how we will receive the seventh addition—agape love. And it is the Father’s name that takes center stage in our relationship with the Father.

At first, we flinch and say, “Huh? What does the Father’s name have to do with adding agape love in our spiritual walk?

Christ did say, “I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world…” (v. 6).  I have clearly shown thy name; I have made it apparent; I have made it known to them.  And they have believed that You have sent Me; they have kept My word, and they believe that it is You, Father, who is doing the works.  And they know that I came out of You, and that it is You who has sent Me (vs. 6-8).

Christ goes on to say that it is His followers that He is praying for and not the world because they are the Father’s, who has given them to Christ.  And the time has come, He is saying, for Him to depart out of the earth, leaving His followers. So how will they remain in one mind and one accord with the Savior?  How will God keep them spiritually safe and sound after Christ departs?

Love and the Knowledge of His Name

He said to continue in His love. We continue in it through the knowledge of the Father’s name. “Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given Me…” There is keeping power in the name of Yahweh.  The Greek word for “keep” means “to attend to carefully, to attend, to guard,” and is translated in other places as “to preserve.”  So, He is guarding us from the evil for this purpose: “That they may be one, as we are one” (vs. 9-11). We could then say that we will never be fully one with God without knowing His name.

He is the fountain of love. He wants us to be one with Him. It happens through the knowledge of His name. He goes on to say that while He was walking with them here on earth, He “kept them in thy name,” and none of them is lost except Judas Iscariot.  He “kept” them; He guarded them.  How?  By teaching them and showing them and revealing to them the Father’s name.  For in His name is the whole plan of God (v. 12).

Christ goes on to ask the Father to not give them an escape hatch “out of the world,” but rather guard and keep them from the evil.  “I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one” (v. 15, NKJV) {Side note: That speaks against the rapture theory}.

Now some will say that this prayer is only for His twelve disciples, His followers of that era.  But it is for all of us down through the ages. “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word” (v. 20). That’s us. He was praying for you and me, so we can take these concepts to heart.

Consequently, if Christ is going to “keep” and guard us from the evil by manifesting the Father’s name to us that we all may be one with Him, then how can that happen when very few Christians know that the Father’s name is Yahweh?

Christ’s desire is that all of us His followers “would be with Me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which You have given Me” (vs. 24).  He desires that we all “may be made perfect in one” (v. 23).  But we have to ask ourselves, How can this happen if a Christian doesn’t know the Father’s name Yahweh, which God uses to guard us from the evil?

And lastly in this prayer in John 17, Christ repeats, “And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it…”  For this specific reason: “That the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”  Let’s savor this.  He is saying, I have made known, shown clearly, Your name, Father, and I will continue to make it known, for this reason: That the same love You have loved Me with may be in My followers.  And that My very essence and Spirit of love may be in them!

What His Name Means

Here the very love and presence of God is tied into the knowledge of God’s name.  His name means “The Self-Existent One” and Yahweh is the Savior, which is what the Son of God’s Hebrew name means—Yahshua.

Inside, God’s name contains and reveals the very nature of Himself.  God is Love. Him being the Savior of His creation reveals or unveils His essence, which is Love. For “greater love hath no man than this than to lay down his life for his friends.”  This essence of the greatest love on earth–giving your life to save someone else–is implicit in the name of the Savior.  This is the reason that our hearts are touched and moved when we hear of someone giving up their own lives to save someone else.  It touches us because it is the heart of God and shows us what He has done, whether we realize it or not.

He guards us from the selfishness of the evil one, when we think on His name and how He gave His life for us. For the great invisible Spirit Yahweh poured Himself into a human form so that He could express fully the love that is His essence.  It is through realizing this knowledge of His love contained in His name that we can receive that same love—that God, who is Love, may dwell in our hearts, and that He and His love would thrive and grow in our hearts, so that we could make known who God is by the love exhibited through us to others. And thus fulfill Christ’s prayer.  “I have declared unto them thy name and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”  The addition of His love into us is realized through the remembrance of the meaning of His name. Knowing Him That Is from the Beginning–The First and the Last

[I could tell you that the following is food taken from the peak of God’s mountain, high above the clamoring of earthlings. I could plead with you to partake of this secret bread, that it will propel God’s growth in you to lustrous lakes of living water. But only the hungry and thirsty will eat and drink. This we know, and in this we will rest.]

As Christians we believe that we know God. We have been touched by the love of Christ, and we have experienced the love, joy, and peace that His Spirit has given us. But do we “know Him that is from the beginning”?

The apostle John is writing a letter addressed to followers of Christ. They fall into three levels of maturity. He writes unto “little children, young men, and fathers” (I John 2: 12-14).

He ministers differently to each spiritual growth group. “I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake” (v. 12). We see here that little children of God are into receiving from God. They receive love, encouragement, hope, and faith from him after their salvation. But many remain children in their spiritual growth by staying in the receiving-from-God-mode. They desire to receive blessings from God, both spiritual and physical.

John writes a different message to the fathers. The “father” here is a growth, like when Paul “fathered” Timothy in the gospel. Paul was in this “father” category of spiritual growth—the same growth that the remnant, the elect of today, will aspire to. Those in the 100 fold “father” growth no longer want a blessing from God, they are the blessing to the world!  For it is Christ fully formed in them.

John addresses them. “I write unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning.” “The beginning” is important to the apostle John. It is on his lips, and he includes “the beginning” in all his writings to us. John knows that “knowing Him that is from the beginning” is of the utmost importance.

He talks about “the beginning” in 1 John 1:1. “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life…” Of course, he is talking about the Messiah Himself, the Son of God. John’s greatest desire is to help the sons of God get to know Him that is from the beginning. And during John’s hardest trial as an aged apostle toward the end of his days, he teaches us just who this One from the beginning really is. To be like the early apostles, we must have this knowledge.

The apostle John is banished to the barren rock pile in the Aegean Sea called Patmos. It is around the turn of the first century A. D., and John does not have long to go on this earth. Sixty-five years ago he had walked with the Savior and had heard and seen firsthand the Master’s plan for His followers. The scene is set for the Son of God’s final recorded appearance to the beloved apostle. The apostle will now become a seer who, aided by the Spirit, looks through time and space to the end of this present age.

He will see the total mouth-stopping vision of the end time.   He will see and record for us the way the evil world system will finally come down.   He will witness its final destruction and also the establishment of the kingdom of God come to earth.

But the most important thing that he will see is the risen Savior again.   It is a sight that would dumbfound him and take him to a deathlike state. “I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me,” John writes in Revelation 1: 12. “And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man…His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead.”

And then the Master comforted John and said, “Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last” (v. 17). Fear had stricken John to the point that he didn’t know whether he was alive or dead. And the very first thing that the Savior said to him to get him up on his feet, to get himself ready to receive what the Master was about to tell him—the very first words were for him to not be afraid, that it is I, “the first and the last.”

Knowing that He is “the first and the last” must have a profound effect on Christ’s followers. It must have an extreme amount of comforting power. Upon first glance at this statement, however, one could wonder just what is the revelation about this statement—what makes these first few words that He spoke unto John so special—that He is “the first and the last,” the beginning and the end.

For those words sound familiar. In fact, the prophet Isaiah wrote down those same words no less than three times. Can we get the revelation about Christ being the “first and last” by going to the prophet Isaiah?

“The God of Israel; The LORD of hosts is his name” Isaiah 48:3. Capital “LORD” is the title that the translators inserted for the name “Yahweh.” This passage in Isaiah should read, “Yahweh of hosts is the name of the God of Israel.” The Spirit Yahweh continues to speak through Isaiah on down to verse 12: “Hearken unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.”

Here Yahweh, the great Creator, the great Father of Israel and all the prophets, is saying that He, Yahweh, is the first and the last! But I thought that the Son of God just told John that He, the Son of God, was the first and the last! How can this be?

If these two passages only appeared one time in Revelation and in the book of Isaiah, then they might be overlooked or forgotten. But the words “first and last” appear at least three times in each book! {Rev. 1:11, 1:17, and 22:13. And in Isaiah 48:12, 44:6, and 41:4}

The Problem

      The Son in Revelation says three times that he is the first and the last. And the Father Yahweh in Isaiah says that he is the first and the last. If there are two up there in heaven, then how can they both be “first”? Is not a father by definition before his son? Then how can the Son of God tell John that He is the first? If there are “two beings up there,” then which are we going to believe? Which is telling us the truth?

The Solution

      There can only be one plausible answer to this enigma. There is only One, and He is telling the truth. That is the mystery. We must look at this enigma after the spirit and not through natural thinking. It was Yahweh speaking through one “like the son of man.” Christ is the Son of man and walked with the sons of men.

It had to be Yahweh, the great eternal Creator Spirit who appeared in human form to John on that sun-bleached rock of an island 1900 years ago and comforted and strengthened him with the prerequisite revelatory truth of the day: “I am the First and the Last. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I am the Root and the Offspring of David.” Yahweh made the full circle from eternal Spirit, pouring Himself into human flesh, and taking that body on up to the full glorification of immortality. John saw the face of God that day on Patmos, and the Spirit spoke and encouraged John with this truth: “Don’t be afraid. I am the First and the Last.” That is all the nourishment John needed to receive the rest of the vision.

The Answer

The answer is that the Father and the Son are one. The Son said that they were one.   “I and my Father are one.” The Father is the invisible Spirit, who inhabits His body, the Son. It is Yahweh, the Spirit, the Father, speaking through Isaiah, and it is the invisible Father speaking through the Son in Revelation.

God spoke to us through His prophets in times past, but has in these last days spoken to us by His Son (Hebrews 1:1). God spoke to His people through the old prophets with the same Spirit that He spoke to the Israelites through Christ.

There is only one God; there is only one Spirit. And God, who is a Spirit, is invisible. Yet, He resides in a spiritual body, a human looking prototype form, and it was that form who we call the Son. And it was that form that John saw on Patmos in Rev. 1:11 and 17. And it was Yahweh Himself who spoke through the Son to John. For the Son is “the brightness of the Spirit’s glory and the express image of the invisible Spirit’s person.”

The Pharisees could not see past the flesh of the Son, the body of the Anointed One. They did not believe that the Father Yahweh was living in a human form fully. And that is what we all must do; we must see the invisible Father Spirit by seeing Him move through His form/His Son, which is His spiritual body. Angels Are Under Our Authority–Part 1

The concept of angels has fascinated human beings for millennia. Man’s imagination is fertile ground for every conceivable manifestation of them. Angels come in every shape and size, from stylized little cupids hovering like hummingbirds to mysterious figures cloaked in the shadows of night or glistening with the rays of the sun.

Some Christians today even believe that these heavenly beings are to be feared and obeyed and held in worshipful pose. But what is the truth about angels? What are they scripturally, and what is our relationship with them really about?

Knowledge about them is revealed when we see how the angels interact with the Son of God. By exploring the springs of His authority, we may imbibe draughts of understanding concerning angels. We find this knowledge in the first chapter of Hebrews.

Authority = Power

As we have seen above, “authority” and “power” are translated from the same Greek word. Christ has promised to give power to His disciples, His disciplined ones. We read in the gospels about once flawed fisherman healing the sick and raising the dead. And these same men, moved by the Spirit of God, proclaim that we can do these things, too.

We are talking about power given to us from on high—power to be His witnesses that He is God, power to cast out evil spirits, power to heal, even power to raise the dead. The elect will be granted authority to do these things. And we will learn that it is the authority that He gives us that brings the power to do the mighty works. For He has promised the overcomers that we would do “greater works” than what He had done. Christ said, “He who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father” (John 14: 12).

Let us examine “authority”—what it is and where it comes from. Analyzing the first chapter of Hebrews shines much light on the subject. Back before Christ came, the great Yahweh spoke to mankind through the prophets. But during the last twenty centuries, He has spoken to us by His Son. Very important, for the Son is heir of all things, and it was by the Son that the world was created (v. 1-2).

The Son of God was invested by the Father with several wonderful attributes. The Son is “the brightness of His glory.” He is “the express image of His person.” The Son upholds “all things by the word of His power.” All this was fulfilled by Him “when He had by Himself purged our sins,” He “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (v. 3).

It was after He had “purged our sins” that all of these accolades were confirmed. It was at the cross through His death, burial, and resurrection that He proved that He is the greatest love.  “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends” (John 15: 13).

In the next verse the apostle tells us that the Son was made “so much better than the angels.” And why was the Son made so much better than the angels? Because of His name. Because of His destiny pre-written and distilled in His name. The Son was made “so much better than the angels,” for He has “obtained a more excellent name than they.” The Son’s name is Yahshua which means: “Yahweh is the Savior” or Yah saves. It was by His laying down His life for others that He became the Savior and showed Himself to be agape love incarnate, thus fulfilling the meaning of His name (v. 4).

There’s Power in His Name

The Hebrew name for the Savior, Yahshua, is extremely important for many obvious reasons, especially when it comes to receiving power to be His witnesses {Be sure to order my book Yah Is Savior: The Road to Immortality. It is free with free shipping. Details at the end of this article}.

After Pentecost Peter and John were asked how they had healed the lame man “at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful.” Peter praised Christ and said that “His name through faith in His name has made this man strong…” (Acts 3: 6, 16). Christ’s name through belief in His name is the key to the power [“faith” and “belief” are both translated from the same Greek word].

The power to heal came through the Savior’s name by believing in the meaning of His name—His Hebrew name, Yahshua. Christians are stymied in their spiritual growth because they either do not know about Christ having a Hebrew name, or they don’t believe it. And it is this unbelief that is short-circuiting them from ever becoming like Peter, Paul, James, and John. If we want to walk like them, we must believe what they believed.

Christ was given at birth the same Hebrew name as the patriarch Joshua, which means “savior.” “Yahshua” means “Yah is Savior” or “Yah is Salvation.” The angel told Joseph in a dream, “Thou shalt call His name JESUS (Yahshua in Hebrew) for He shall save His people from their sins” (Mat. 1: 21 KJV). The center column reference of the World Bible Publishers edition says “Savior.” They know.

So Peter and John knew of the power of not only knowing His name, but also knowing and believing the meaning of His name. Yahweh is the Savior. That is what Christ’s name means. The early apostles knew that Yah had come in the human form of Christ. The prophets declared it. “I am Yahweh (the LORD) and beside me there is no savior” (Isa. 43: 11). Peter and John knew that the great Creator Yahweh was walking around in human form. They knew that His Hebrew name contained this information, and they believed it. The apostles knew. They knew that Christ had a “more excellent name” than the angels, which gave them power over the angels—all angels—the “good” and the “bad” ones.

Exposing the Spiritual Darkness of Political Correctness

“Something there is that does not love” political correctness [1]. Something deep down in the human soul repulses attempts by our fellow man to dictate how we should feel, speak, and act. Perhaps that something is that little spiritual spark that our Creator has placed in our hearts. That tiny luminescence is intended to kindle a fire that will illuminate the path back to our Father’s heart.

Thus, that little light that He has given each person knows that in the end, we all were made for God’s purposes and not to be slaves to the whims of other men.

Political correctness is just that–a subtle tyranny of thought control, enabled by fear. For it is fear of retribution from the herd that debilitates most. When their heads raise up in indignation at the despotic dictums foisted upon them by the P.C. police, most merely glimpse the woolly fleece in front of them and continue following, lowering their heads once again in resignation.

But “Something There Is that Does Not Love” Political Correctness

Politics is natural man governing other men. So when a small group of men dictates to the masses what to think and say, and the people acquiesce, then a quiet totalitarian regime is born, and the masses become compliant subjects of the few.

Therefore, it is an honor for me to say that I am not politically correct. For I am endeavoring to follow our Example, the Son of God. He shrank not from those who dictated “correct” thought and speech 2,000 years ago. He followed completely the spark within to its full growth cycle conclusion: the manifestation of the Son of God.

Our Example

And He is our Example, and He has shown us the way to the goal and vision of being just like Him. And He was not politically correct. He did not need for somebody to tell Him how men should think, “for He knew what was in man” (John 2: 25). He stood up and exposed the lies and deceptions of natural sinful man.

He even told the Pharisees, “You are of your father the devil” (John 8: 42-47). Hey, you hypocritical little tyrants, running around here, sitting in Moses’ seat, you stone my followers for loving their neighbor as themselves, and you bind heavy burdens on the people and never lift a finger to help them. Your father is Satan, and you are acting just like him. Satan is a serpent and you are a den of lying vipers just like him.

No, Christ was not politically correct. He told the truth and exposed the bastardized Judaic religion of His day for the hypocrisy that it was. He came against it vehemently. He is our Example. Are we doing what He did? Are we exposing the half-truths and outright errors that riddle organized Churchianity? Are we purging out the old leaven concepts?

Light Versus Darkness

Almost everything Christ said was not politically correct. Take the Sermon on the Mount. He said that we are not to hide the light that He gives us, but to let it shine. Light by its nature exposes and reveals what darkness hides. Light, therefore, is much more powerful than darkness, for it dispels and finally annihilates the darkness.

Political correctness is a form of darkness, demanding its victims to remain quiet and not expose its nature. P.C. says, Don’t let the light of truth and freedom shine because it will reveal just how small and petty I am.

Oh, something there is in the human heart that does not love political correctness. Truth and Love says, Letting your light shine glorifies the Father. For He is the Light, “the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world” (John 1: 9).

Our wonderful Savior is the Light that has shined into our hearts with His Spirit and spark of new life in Him. He has promised us freedom from the slavery and bondage of sinful man’s expectations of how we are to think and speak in their new world order.

Oh, something there is that does not love political correctness, and that something is a Someone, and He is God. And man was created by Him to be the glory of God.  Our whole purpose is to exalt our King. It is branded into our DNA.

That is why we fairly bristle at political correctness. Agents of the kingdom of darkness impose the ideals of their father upon us. They are against the divine nature that we are to exhibit. This is the righteous spiritual nature that will glorify God. P.C. is against God and His sovereignty in our lives. It totally forgets God and His word and plan and purpose, superimposing “great swelling words of man’s wisdom” in their stead.

Our modern day political correctness is just the latest version of the same spiritual sickness. It is ultimately against God and His desire for us, which is this: He wants us to be exactly like our Example. He is known by English speakers as Jesus Christ, but known by a few as Yahshua, His Hebrew name.

But then, using the name “Yahshua” may not be politically correct in some quarters. I better let the Father Yahweh sort it all out.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock
