Immortality Road

Christ said, “Many are called but few are chosen” (Matt. 22: 14). Many do indeed believe that God has a calling on them. Yet very few wind up in the “chosen” category, which is the “elect” category. For the word “chosen” and the word “elect” are translated from the same Greek word. They are interchangeable in meaning.

It is like Christ has invited many to become rulers with Him in His soon coming kingdom. Ask those who feel called of God, As Christ’s followers, what things are we to seek after? Most will not know that we are to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matt. 6: 33). Most will not know how to make sure they are part of the elect.

Making Our Calling and Election Sure

Yet there is His way for us to walk to make sure we become one of His elect. We can “partake of the divine nature.” We are to add certain spiritual attributes to the faith that we have received of Him—not to gain eternal life, but to grow to full spiritual maturity after His gift of salvation, which is only the first step in the Christian walk. Peter writes to us about seven additions to the faith, seven spiritual attributes that are necessary to “make our calling and election sure.”

Those seven additions are virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity/agape love. “For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (Yahshua) …Give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if you do these things, you shall never fall…” (II Peter 1: 4-10).

Somebody asked me the other day, What do we do now? We do these things. To make sure we are a part of the election, we add these seven additions to our faith. It takes first knowledge of these things coupled with prayer and study. In the very next chapter of II Peter, he immediately warns of the false teachers and false ministers who will not teach chapter one to you. They will “bring in damnable heresies.”

The Called and the Chosen Ones and the “Great Supper”

Christ has called, is calling, and shall call many human beings to be a dynamic part of His plan and purpose to reproduce Himself. It is as if He is inviting the many to a great supper that is coming up in the near future. So says the parable of the great supper (Luke 14: 16-24). It was a great supper, and those who were invited made excuses about why they could not attend. They were too busy with their own worldly cares. So the lord of the feast told his servants to go out and invite the “poor, maimed, the halt, and the blind” and “compel” them to come in. Then the lord said that none of those initially called “shall taste of my supper.”

I believe that this parable has far reaching ramifications for us in the end times. Just six verses before He spoke this parable, Christ mentions “a wedding.” “When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding” be humble and take the lower seat (Luke 14: 8).

And so must his elect be at the end of this age. For this “marriage supper” in Revelation is not a white tie and gown affair. The supper is rather to the “fowls that fly in the midst of heaven.” They are bidden by an angel, “Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men…” (Rev. 19: 17-18).

This is the aftermath of the Battle of Armageddon and the destruction of the kingdom of Satan. This supper is not where we the sons of Light eat, but where the sons of darkness are eaten. This ushers in the Kingdom of God as Christ returns to set the earth in order. This kingdom is what the elect will be seeking along with its corresponding laws that will establish at long last His righteousness and justice and equity.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The apostle John addresses his first letter to children, young men, and fathers in Christ. These represent the three levels of Christian growth. “Fathers” here represent Christians like Peter, James, John, and Paul, who knew God up close and personal. In fact, John is writing to them “because you have known Him that is from the beginning.” These were capable of fathering others in the gospel, and he wrote to them for one reason: “Because you have known Him that is from the beginning” (I John 2: 13-14).

Furthermore, speaking of Christ, the apostle John tells us that he and the other apostles have heard Him speak, and “have seen with our eyes,” and “we have looked upon” Him, and “our hands have handled” Him. John’s testimony is that they with their senses heard, saw, observed,  and touched Christ some 2,000 years ago. And this Christ that they walked with those 3 ½ years was the same One that “was from the beginning” (I John 1: 1).

In other words, that Holy Entity that was from the beginning was made flesh, and was heard, seen, observed, touched, and literally walked with. This is the same One that “was from the beginning” in God’s dealings with mankind.

Likewise, to know Christ better, we must be acquainted with what He did back in the beginning. This is the way to “know Him that is from the beginning.” This is the way to “know Him and the power of His resurrection” (Phil. 3: 10). This is part of our growth into fatherhood (and virtuous womanhood).

Christ visited, counseled and communed many times with the patriarchs and prophets of old. His deeds and actions with them will help us “know Him that is from the beginning.”

To further collaborate John’s testimony that it was Christ in His pre-incarnate human form appearing “in the beginning” to the patriarchs and prophets, we look to Christ’s own words about Himself. The Jews were seeking ways to kill Him. Christ told them, “If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. There is another that bears witness of Me…Search the scriptures…they are they which testify of Me…Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuses you, even Moses, in whom you trust. For had you believed Moses, you would have believed Me: for he wrote of Me” (John 5: 31-32, 39, 45-46).

Christ was telling the Jews who sought to kill Him for saying that He was the Son of God, Look. If I plainly tell you that Yahweh dwells in Me, and it was I in My pre-incarnate form that appeared to man back in Old Testament times, then you would not believe Me. But we have Moses; maybe you’ll believe him whom you say you follow. Moses wrote about Me in the first five books of the Bible. If you believe Moses, then you would believe Me, for it was I who appeared in many passages that he wrote.

Christ said, “Moses wrote of Me.” Many today limit the mentions of Christ to Genesis 3: 15 and Deuteronomy 18: 15-19. Really? Are you kidding? What kind of respect is that? After all Moses went through from the burning bush calling, to the Exodus of God’s people, to the amount of miracles that He performed for the Israelites, do we think that Moses would only mention Christ twice?

Seeing Christ in the Garden of Eden

To know Him that is from the beginning, we must see through the misty millennia as He kneeled down lovingly onto the clay of Eden and formed Adam, the man who would serve as the environment of God’s plan to reproduce Himself. We see Christ in His pre-incarnate spiritual body forming Adam and breathing into him the breath of life (Gen. 2: 7).

Christ the Creator laid His hands on the cold earthen man-to-be and through His tender lovingkindness, Christ through His resurrection power breathed life into the first man. And even when Christ had to use tough love after Adam’s sin, He still showed tenderly His great love and care toward Adam and Eve.

The penalty was severe. They stood before their Maker and were ashamed and “knew that they were naked.” Despite their banishment, and the cursed ground from which they would toil through the sweat of their brow, and despite being doomed to return to that very dust from which they came—despite all this, Christ reached out to them and “made them coats of skins, and clothed them.” Christ did not call on angels to come and take the skins and make coats for them; He did it Himself. Christ is seen here touching animal skins and clothing them. Literally.

Christ’s Own Words Again

The Master mentions Moses’ writings again.  After His resurrection He joins two of His followers who were walking dejectedly down the road to a village named  Emmaus. They were prevented from recognizing Him as they spoke. He asked them what they were so down about.  And they basically said that the prophet they had been following had been killed by the chief priests and rulers.  And besides, it had been three days now and they had not seen hide nor hair of him.

And then He said this unto them. How foolish you are, and how slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!  Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?  “And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself” (Luke 24:25-27).  He has just said that all of the writings of Moses and the prophets were writings about Himself.

What Moses and all the prophets were writing about was Yahweh’s glorious coming to this earth in a flesh body to become the Savior of His creation.  That’s what the scriptures are about!  That is what the Master just said.

The Master, to finish the story, went on to the next village with them.  Still not recognizing Him, they encouraged Him to stay with them and eat.  During the meal they finally recognized Him, and then He disappeared. Then they asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32.  The scriptures open when we realize that they speak of Yahweh coming in human form!

     Many do not understand and therefore do not read the Bible because it is closed to them.  He will open the scriptures to us just like He did to those two on the road to Emmaus, when we believe that Yahweh of the “Old Testament” is clothed in human flesh and is really the Messiah of the “New Testament.” The previous sentence will only be revealed to us if He opens the scriptures to us—if He shows us who He really is (https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/2011/07/20/moses-wrote-about-christ-how-he-opened-to-us-the-scriptures-chapter-12-of-the-book-yah-is-savior/).

Reading through the “faith chapter” of Hebrews 11, we begin to appreciate “so great a cloud of witnesses.” And as we read their stories again in the Old Testament, let us be assured that they communed with Christ in His glorified spiritual body. He took on a flesh body for a few years of His Incarnation for a certain work to be done—our salvation. Let us now enjoy Him in the Old Testament as He interacts with our heroes of the faith. Let us read anew with enlightened eyes of Christ’s many visits to earth, communing with these patriarchs and prophets outlined in Hebrews 11.

We can “know Him from the beginning” just like the apostle John. In fact, we must if we are to grow to our ultimate potential in Christ. Let us look at Christ in action. When we do, we will see His love and compassion in hearing the cries of His people in Egypt in Moses’ day and also in Gideon’s day. We will see His big heart in His desire to deliver His people from the sorrow and despair of slavery. He heard their cries and was moved to come down and not just appear, but also to insert Himself into the everyday drama of their sufferings. He is the living God, the fountain of all compassion and love. We will see Him literally lead and guide His people out of hard times.

All these things were written for “our admonition upon whom the end of the world comes.” That’s us. We need to have the scriptures open to us. Earlier in this article we saw the way that it will happen. We need to see Christ as He really is. He loved us then; He loves us now. And He will love us forever.

One other thought. We will know Him that is from the beginning when we believe that we were with Him in the beginning (John 15: 27; I John 2: 24).   Kenneth Wayne Hancock

A relatively small number of human beings will in these last days overcome all things and will be invited by our Savior to sit with Him on His throne upon His return to this earth. Christ promised, “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with Me in My throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne” (Rev. 3: 21). The Spirit is talking to us, brothers and sisters. If we have ears to hear, then let us hear what the Spirit is saying to us (v. 22). And He is saying…

Those who are destined to walk with God, the way that the men and women of Biblical renown did, will know Him that is the beginning. The apostle John knew Him “which was from the beginning” (I John 1: 1). And John wrote to certain mature Christians who knew Him that way. John said, “I write unto you, fathers, because you have known Him that is from the beginning.”

Understanding the thirty, sixty, and one hundred fold fruit bearing principle detailed in the Parable of the Sower is the key to comprehending all of this. His spiritual law of harvest speaks of three general levels of spiritual growth in Christians (Matt. 13: 3-23). They first are babes in Christ or little children. Then they grow into young men and women, and then finally into fathers virtuous women. Children, young men, fathers (I John 2: 12-14).

The point is this: The over comers destined to sit with Christ on His throne will have grown into the 100 fold category and become “fathers” in the gospel much like Paul. He wrote the Corinthians, “In Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel” (I Cor. 4: 15 NIV).

We can grow into this 100 fold fruit bearing category as we begin to know Him that is from the beginning. And to do this, we must see Christ in action in the beginning of God’s dealings with man. This means seeing Christ’s deeds in the Old Testament.

How Do We Know Anyone?

We are to “know Him from the beginning.” And we know that the scriptures are referring to Christ because of John’s testimony in the gospel of John:1: 1, 14: “In the beginning was the Word…and the Word was God…And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us (and we beheld His glory…).”

How do we get to know of anyone? It is through knowledge of their deeds and actions. For example, You make a new friend, and you have heard that his dad is rather famous. You say to your friend, Tell me about your dad.

Your friend smiles and begins to tell you about the things that his dad has done. He played Major League Baseball for the Cincinnati Reds in the 1970’s. He played the outfield and wears a World Series ring, having won it all back then. Anyway, the point is this: Your friend helps you to know his dad better by telling you of his accomplishments, actions, and deeds back in the beginning of his life.

Likewise, to know Christ better, we must be acquainted with what He did back in the beginning. This is the way to “know Him that is from the beginning.” This is the way to “know Him and the power of His resurrection” (Phil. 3: 10).

We all want revelations from God, but sometimes they come like a sharp slap in the face. We are shocked and stare in unbelief that the truth so ministered to us is so far from what we thought it to be.

Such is this revelation: The deeper we go spiritually into Yahweh’s truth, the less Christians want it. If the man of God keeps it simple and unchallenging, which is what babes in Christ desire, then many will follow. Once the Spirit starts leading us “into all truth,” then the excuses start to come.

Remember Christ asking those around Him, “Have you counted the cost to follow Me? Are you able to be baptized with the baptism I am baptized with? Are you able to put your hands to the plow and not look back? Are you able to sell all that you have, take up your cross, and follow Me? (Lk 14: 28; Mt 20: 22; Lk 9: 62; Lk 18: 22). These are questions posed not to little babes in Christ, but rather to those who desire to go all the way with the Master and be like Him and His early apostles and prophets.

The Parable of the Great Supper

To illustrate this, Christ is seated having supper in a chief Pharisee’s house. One of the Pharisees says to Him, “Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.” In response to that, Christs relates the Parable of the Great Supper. A certain man invited many people to a great supper. But they all started making excuses. One had to take care of land he had just bought. Another had to go test his oxen that he just bought. Another just said, I have married a wife, therefore I cannot come. The servant told His lord about this, so his lord told him to go out and invite the poor to come. I did, and they still won’t  come. Then, said the lord, go and compel them to come to my supper. And know this: All of those that were bidden and made excuses won’t be tasting my supper. They are going to miss out.

The meaning of this parable is this. The lord giving the supper is Christ. The great supper is the marriage supper spoken about in prophecy (That is a whole other teaching that must be straightened out a bit later). Anyway, it is a supper with Christ that we do not want to miss. But it is a heavyweight happening, not for spiritual babes in Christ, and it is only for those who can handle the heavier portions of the truth. For we see that those who would not come to His supper were those who were centered in on earthly things—the land, business, and the wife who had a hold on the man. They were more interested in their little lives than the things that Christ is doing in the earth.

God is trying to get people to come and be a part of His kingdom which is coming to this earth upon His return. Remember the Pharisee saying to Him, “Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.” This parable is telling us secrets about His kingdom soon to fill this whole earth. His government is coming.

In the parable, finally the Lord says to compel them to come to my supper. Huge word, “compel,” with a huge meaning. “Constrain them to come in.” In the Greek, it is necessitate them to come in, which means oblige them, force them, and to quote someone who should know, “Make them an offer that they can’t refuse.” The point is that God will bring about world events that are so dire that the people will be forced into crying unto Him for their very survival. Those of us who have fought in wars know that there are no atheists in a foxhole. Everyone will say their prayers, and so will the people during the great desolation that will engulf the earth just before Christ’s return. The dire condition will necessitate people to flow into the kingdom of God—literally. They will come to the supper.

It is all about God’s purpose: The reproduction of Himself, Love. And His plan: Using His kingdom as the environment where the reproduction will take place—in us! For what is the very first thing that we are to seek after? “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and everything else will be provided.”

What Saddens the Heart

And yet, many who have prophesied in His name, and have served on the mission field, and done many great works will be rejected. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

This is a sad day. Those rejected will not have inquired about just what is “the will of the Father.” We’ve got to go deep in our studies, leaving no stone unturned, digging deep and putting our house on the rock. It all goes together.

Why won’t the masses of Christians go deep into the studies? I believe that they are too distracted—so distracted that they will mistake the plaintive cry of God’s true teachers as just another evangelical advertisement, just another “heavenly” huckster heralding his wares. Like the religious people in Isaiah and Jeremiah’s day, they will think we are crazy, cleaving to some goofy oneness doctrine.

The masses are so distracted with their technological wonders, phones, tablets, where it is possible to carry around several of the world’s largest libraries in your shirt pocket. Yet, so many would rather take selfies and enjoy the latest cat video on youtube.

And yet, despite all the distractions, God is calling out His elect, a remnant of people with ears to hear His voice. He makes His presence known in various ways to each, through dreams, visions, and revelations. But without more true knowledge and wisdom, these connections with the Spirit will eventually stop coming; they always do.

But the chosen few will with a parched throat continue to cry to Him, and He will hear and feel their sincere hunger and thirst for Him, and He will see their desire to have a walk with God on a grander scale. And they will long for a closer relationship, but they will begin to realize that they do not have the knowledge to get where God wants to take them. It is like the 19 year old landing a job at General Motors on the assembly line. But he longs to be an engineer, but lacks the knowledge that 4-5 years in college will bring.

Same thing. It is going to take patience and endurance. Much patience. Just read all the verses containing “patience,” and you will see how important the concept is. Now you are studying, digging deep.

God has ordained teachers who can show the steps that it takes to get where He wants us to get. How will you know when you find one? “A man’s gift makes room for himself.” If he has the gift for you, you will know. And his gift is the secrets of the Father’s heart, purpose and plan on how He will use us to make it all happen.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Antidote for Evil’s Sting

Yahweh in ages past, revealed to His prophets His purpose, plan and vision. The words of the vision given to them have been “closed up and sealed till the time of the end.” The time of the end is now upon us. Their words of truth are dots that are now being connected by the Spirit of truth. “None of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand” (Daniel 12: 9-10).

The wise shall understand that God is love; God is agape. That is His nature. But in order to fully express apape/Love, He would have to die, giving up His earthly life for others. “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,” (John 15: 13).

God would lead by example. He would show His creation His nature of Love by giving up His life. But it would have to be carried out through His Son. For an immortal Spirit cannot die, by definition.

But why would He have to give up His life? Why would it matter to human beings when they would see God’s nature of Love manifested through Christ laying down His life for us?

Why would it matter? In order for man to appreciate God’s nature of love as seen by Christ’s death for us, man would have to have a great need. Human nature shows us that it is only when man is in deep trouble that he will appreciate a helping hand. A man can receive no help to improve his spiritual lot if he thinks that there is nothing wrong.

God knowing all this, created the human being weak and susceptible to evil and sin. God created evil for this very purpose—to bring man to a low point, so that he would appreciate the antidote for evil’s sting.

And that antidote is love and forgiveness. If God had created us as little righteous robots, we would never have a need for Him. We would have never known His love when He laid down His life for us. We would have lived a shallow life as robotic machines programmed to say “yes,” never knowing our Father’s great love. God’s story would have remained a distant fable spoken of in muffled tones, lacking Love, which leads us through “the valley of the shadow of death.”
