The Light of Love from Above–Ch. 7 of The Royal Destiny of God’s Elect

7  The Light of Love from Above

Light is that ephemeral miracle we take for granted. It physically exposes the dark corners of our rooms, and it spiritually makes known the hidden recesses of our hearts and minds.

Light is that essence of the divine that heals our blindness and ends our vain groping to make meaning of the hopeless darkness of our carnal earthly estate.

Of course, God is Light, and He is Love which casts out the fear of remaining in the dungeon of despair. God’s Son is the way out of that calamitous corridor of personal corruption. Through Christ’s Spirit we no longer inflict collateral damage on all who cross our path. We now shine the light of love.

We who are called and chosen by the Redeemer to escape this dungeon of darkness have laid hold of His outstretched hand. He has snatched us up out of that selfish march to death that we were on and has shined the truth of His words into our hearts. His thoughts are like the early morning rays of the sun that sharpens our perception of just what our world can be. Instead of the coarse commonality of our selfish old nature, our Creator has now enlightened our eyes as to His desire to use us in reproducing Himself. Astounding as it may seem, He is now shedding more light onto His plan to “bring many sons (and daughters) unto glory.” And this glory is the unearned privilege to sit with Christ on His throne when He returns to set up on earth the 1,000 year reign of His kingdom. He is, after all, the “King of kings” (Rom. 8: 18-19, 28-31; Rev. 3: 20-21; I Tim. 6: 15).

In a word, His purpose is to reproduce, like a seed, His Love in us. Since God is Love, when we love others with His Spirit of Love, God is reproducing Himself (I John 4: 8-12).

God has a plan to make all this happen. He has written it down on how to walk in the light of His love. He has left us instructions as to how people will act when God’s Spirit of love is leading them.

These instructions are called “the law.” The “testimony” is the witness of one who through God’s Spirit follows the instructions as to what Love looks like walking around in a human being.

Love–agape love–the love from above–this love is God. And this love, when poured into the heart and mind of man, fulfills all the descriptions of what love is. We look to our example, the Son of God. He is Love incarnate. And the Love that He is, now resides in His children’s hearts. And we are growing in His plan and purpose as He grows in us.

This love from above follows the instructions of the law as to our actions. In a nutshell, the ten commandment law requires that we love our neighbor as ourselves. Therefore, the Spirit of Love within us fulfills the law (Rom. 13:9-10). God’s Love is the Light that now shines into and through our hearts and minds to others.

How Love Fulfills the Law

Life is all about love. The poets and prophets and songwriters got that much right. But it is the higher love, the agape divine love that we should concern ourselves with as His sons and daughters.

Love fulfills the whole law when we do the greatest love. When we lay down our old earthly lives with its selfish sins and pursuits, and take up our new life in Christ and His Spirit in us—then the Love that is from above comes down into us in the form of a new heart. This agape love fulfills the Ten Commandment Law and all the Mosaic Law of the Old Covenant.

For Love is God, and God is this agape love. And He does fulfill His own law. No amount of working for this will be effectual. This love does not come by being a regular church goer, tither, or prayer warrior. No amount of good works, charity donations, or pious acts will bring Love down into us. Only self-sacrifice on the cross and our own death, burial, and resurrection with Christ will do it.

Doing the greatest love, which is laying down our lives for others just like Christ did, is the only sacrifice God will accept. Letting our old lives die on the cross is the only avenue open to us in our original seat in the mire. It is only this that will bring His nature of Love down, supplanting the old sinful nature. Only laying down our lives will fulfill His purpose of reproducing Himself. When we do this and continue to walk in His Spirit, Love has been multiplied and reproduced.

It all starts with Love, and it all ends with Love. God is Love and He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and the Omega. Love is the beginning and the end of all things.

How do we, the church of God, fit into all this? We are His body; we are the members of Love’s body, “the fullness of Him that fills all in all” (Eph. 1: 23). God sees us as the vessels that will contain Himself. He created us for this purpose—to house Himself and the mercy and Love that He is. Bold statement: Without us God could not express the fullness of Himself.

In the end, God will fill us with His Love and mercy. And He will use us to do it. His essence of love will spread throughout every crevice of His universe through the presence of His ambassadors, His princes and princesses, His family and friends. Children of God think that they are objects of His love. The mature know that they are channels of His love.

The False Vision and the True Vision

wayneman's avatarImmortality Road

Two visions are given in the scriptures concerning this earth today. One is true and is from the Hebrew God Yahweh. And one is false. And both of these visions concerning God and His plan are out there on the airwaves, in cyberspace, and in the pulpits.

Since “there is nothing new under the sun,” and since “that which has been is now,” we look back to the prophet Jeremiah’s day. Then there were prophets speaking lies in God’s name to the people of Jerusalem. The Babylonian army was sweeping across the Middle East, and yet, they said that God was saying, “You will not see the sword, neither shall you have famine. But I will give you assured peace in this place” (Jer. 14: 13).

These “men of God” told the people what they wanted to hear–how God was going to spare them from Nebuchadnezzar’s army and how their…

Warning: Beware of Man’s Traditions About Christ

wayneman's avatarImmortality Road

You ever notice how the apostles of Christ never warned the early Christians about the dangers of being deceived by the gods of the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Indians, Persians, et al. They weren’t concerned about Sol Invictus, the worship of the Sun god, nor the worship of the Roman Emperor, nor any of the invading mystery cult gods of the East.

They warned Christians about organized churches and synagogues who professed to know God even while they were being infected by the false teachings found in the worship of those very false gods.

Paul makes this clear: “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness” (II Cor 11: 13-14).

Much to be gleaned here…

How Much of the Government’s Kool-Aid Have We Drunk?

First published in July 2010. Nothing’s changed. Still the same sad story for not just the USA, but for the whole world. Evil versus good. Looks like now that Evil is winning, but the Creator has something potent up His sleeve.

wayneman's avatarImmortality Road

Let’s face it.  Unless we have partaken of information from alternative sources, we are basing our world view on what they have permitted us to take in.  The mainstream media are hirelings whose reins are held by their bosses who are in bed with much more powerful personages than any of us can imagine.

As we look out over the world scene, things seem to just happen by chance, and our hapless federal government, of course, is there to “react” to each “crisis” as it tumbles and shakes out like dice on the economic and political table of the world.

However, the media slips up occasionally, revealing glimpses of a “different” reality.  For example, a documentary on cable revealed that Hitler got his financing to build Germany’s war machine from international bankers in London and New York!  London and New York!  Very few watched this program, and most who did were probably so…

From Death to Immortality–The Manifestation of the Sons of God

wayneman's avatarImmortality Road

The inhabitants of the earth may not know it, but they are groaning and travailing, waiting “for the manifestation of the sons of God.” They are yearning and longing for a hero, for someone to inspire them and comfort them and encourage them that it is going to be all right.

Their heroes are coming, for this is that rare time in history when some of us mortal human beings will be glorified. Some of us will be given a spiritual immortal body to tread this old earth in. For this is not a when-we-all-get-to-heaven immortality that His word speaks of, but a literal transformation into immortal beings just like Christ, right here on earth during these last days!  This is the great hope–to avoid the oppressive crushing corruption of old age on our mortal shells, with all the agony and heartbreak it entails (Romans 8: 18-25).

This is God’s purpose and His great promise…

Nothing in It for You and Me–All for Him

There was an old saying at the mission that rings true now some 40 years later.  “There’s nothing in it for you.”

I didn’t really understand then just how profound that simple statement was.  But Time is a faithful teacher.  And as I look now in the mirror and see a much more wrinkled image with a head laden with a heavy hoary frost, I take more time to contemplate the increasing fragility of my physical state.  It seems that the reality of my own mortality crowds daily into my thoughts.

In that mirror I also see in my own eyes how the years have neutralized the “piss and vinegar” that I was so full of back then in my 20’s and 30’s.

As my earthly frame grows weaker, that old saying–how that there’s nothing in this walk with God for you–rings truer.  It is making so much more sense now as I am staring down the time when I just may have to depart this old earthly body before Christ returns to this earth to set up His kingdom.

For, you see, in those younger years I thought that surely I would be alive when the LORD would come back.  Christ did say that “whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die” (John 11: 26).  And, that “there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom” (Mt. 16: 28).  Those destined not to taste death would have to be the generation of believers alive when He returned to earth.  Anyway, I always thought that I would be one of them.

But now, as the years tick on, and my body creaks with age more every day, I must take this into real consideration–this “falling asleep,” this “shuffling off of this mortal coil.”

And, yet, I now realize that God has this death of the physical body hanging over us for a reason.  We know that He gives life and He takes life.  Our very breath is in His hand.  And it is this impending destiny with dust that helps us understand the futility of living for one’s self.  The self just cannot see us through, for our earthly bodies must betray us, for that is the very nature  of the physical body formed of the dust of this planet.  The house of dirt was made for us by God on purpose not to last.  It is temporary housing.

God fashioned our bodies to be as ephemeral as butterfly wings.  He deliberately formed them to be fragile in hope that we might sense someday our own vanity before death came knocking.  As we see our bodies decay and crumble with age, He hopes that we will see the futility of living for the self.

Our fragility betrays our pretentious egos that always seem to shout, “Hey, everybody, seriously, I really am something!”  But that self-centered imagination breeds the ultimate deception, for “when a man thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself” (Gal. 6: 3).

And we have all been guilty of that thought; it is in the spiritual genes of old man Adam and his offspring.  Yes, we are initially made that way by the Creator in hopes that we would see the purposelessness of selfish thinking and be humbled so that we could all realize one truth: Every man is created for only one thing, and it is not for self-glorification; it is for God-glorification.

And if we are blessed to be chosen by Him to reveal this truth to, then we are coming much closer to where we need to be in our walk on earth before our Creator.

There’s nothing in it for you.  For everything in the vastness of the universe and here on earth is for God and His pleasure.  This is the great sticking point with natural-minded man, who earnestly believes that he is the center of the cosmos.  Secular humanism is the new many-headed false god.  “Thou shalt not have any other gods before Me.”  Especially our self.

“For of Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things” (Rom. 11: 36).  Breaking it down, all things are of Him; they came from Him, and through His creative power all things (including us) exist.  And in the end, all things are created by Him for His pleasure and glory.

For instance, Him delivering us from utter degradation and destruction, and us returning and thanking Him and telling others about His saving love and power–He loves that and gets glory out of it.

“All things were created by Him, and for Him” (Col. 1: 16).  But God does not become a pompous little jerk like natural man when he gets power.  No.  God is LOVE.  He created us so that He could bring us to a place spiritually, where His essence and nature (which is Love) could be multiplied–eventually to fill the whole universe with LOVE!  Our gratitude toward Him for our deliverance from sin is the fertile soil where the seed of Love can grow.

And God-in-human-form is our example and showed us the way.  Jesus (Yahshua) tasted death for us all so that we would not be banished to the dusty tombs of oblivion.  “For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory” (Hebr. 2: 9-10).

That’s the plan.  It is all for Him, so that He may glorify those who realize that it is all for Him.  He will share Himself and all His glory with the overcomers, even to the point of sharing His throne with them (Rev. 3: 21).

It is all for the Creator.  When we turn that page in the book of our minds, then joy and serenity will overtake us, for we will have embraced the heart of God with arms of humility, born of His true nature, Love.

On Becoming Older–“Though Our Outward Man Perish”

In the world of men, the older one becomes, the less valuable they become–especially in American culture.  For only the outward appearance is esteemed.  But in the kingdom of God, as our earthly bodies age, it ofttimes yields a needed wisdom on the inside.  And with wisdom, one finds much spiritual treasure.

A Sense of Our Own Mortality

As our earthly body begins its corruption through aging, we begin to get a sense of our own mortality.  When we were young, we never thought that one day we would expire–that one day we would have breathed our last breath of earth’s good air.  We careened through youthful roads with a reckless abandon, never contemplating the delicate balance between life and death.

And then one day, we wake up and realize that we cannot do the physical feats we did in our youth.  And if we are blessed, we will then turn to the inward spiritual country, a land prepared by the Master Surveyor, laid out for those of us who will seek that rare realm.  This great land of the heart is called “the Kingdom of God” and it “is within you.”

Feeling the Need for the Spiritual

And as we turn to go there, we begin to feel the need for the spiritual food to sustain on our journey.  We see the futility of clamoring after things for just our earthly bodies, and we begin to respect and reverence the Spirit that fathered us anc created and placed us down here on earth.

Becoming older brings wisdom, for the dreams and schemes of youth have run their race cars into a wall of disillusionment.  Survivors of the crash walk more circumspectly, more grateful for more time to now think about the eternal things of God. It takes time’s erosion of our earthly strength to help us realize that God has an eternal purpose in all our trials, temptations, and tears.

The Fisher of Men

God allows us spools of line as a fisherman does a giant, fighting fish.  And with that extra line and time, the fish flips and flashes and flaps and flails until all his dreams and schemes of his own vainglory are surrendered to the will of the Great Fisherman.

And so it is with us.  He gives us great latitude to pursue our own way of non-surrender.  As the years pass, some will work so hard to wrestle free from God, that He allows them to throw off the hook.

But a chosen few will realize that they are destined for greater things, spiritual things, “things kept secret from the foundation of the world,” and they will surrender to His will.  They will see that “though the outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”  And because of this, these few will not look at the outward appearance, which shows the mere temporary things, but they will look on the invisible, into that dimension which is eternal (II Corinthians 4: 16-18).

And thus God brings them into His ship, into His heart, giving them a new spirit and a new in life–His life.

So becoming older can mean becoming wiser.  For with age comes spiritual clarity and more reverence for the Great Fisherman.  Youth are more likely to trust in the “arm of flesh,” which never has the strength to carry us down the road to immortality.   Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Virus, the Beast, and the Time of the End (First published 3-30-2020)

The Virus, the Beast, and the Time of the End

We are living during the beginning of the time of the end. I believe the “beast” of Revelation just may be Big Technology, what with 5G, AI, the internet of things, facial recognition, the herding of the sheeple using fear and hysteria…”And the whole world wondered after the beast…”

What is the one thing that the masses are clamoring for and wondering after? It is the latest technology breakthrough. They are addicted. Technology is an electric drug that is leading them into accepting a tiny chip that will hook their brain up to the Internet’s cloud whereby they will be the smartest little android in the office. This chip will insure that they can “buy or sell.” [If you still don’t believe this is happening, you are living in the past. Please do your own research on these things.]

Those who refuse to take the chip will be counted as rebels against the beast one world system.  They will have read the book of Revelation and will refuse to take the “mark of the beast.” For this they will be persecuted. We see this persecution unfold when we read Revelation 6: 9-11. It just may be the 5th seal coming off the scroll of what is to happen in these last days.

God allows these sufferings in His plan to awaken His followers. In so doing, they will awake from their long sleep unto righteousness. “Awake thou that sleepest…and Christ shall give thee light (Rom. 13:11; Eph. 5: 14).

Many are realizing that something is wrong with all of this ginned up media driven hysteria. Do not fear. Yes, the virus is real, but there are other things going on. It is like a magician. Yes, the playing cards are real in his left hand. And while he directs our eyes on the machinations of his fingers and thumbs, with the other he is preparing to release a black swan from under his coat. That big black bird that “comes out of nowhere” is a worldwide economic collapse that will destroy the dollar as the world’s reserve currency and sling us into another great depression.

The Obama administration said to “never let a crisis go to waste.” They are not. While this virus does its thing, every mom and pop business in the nation is shut down. Most will not recover. Millions upon millions of workers are being laid off.

The world is in trouble and is suffering. But be of good cheer. Everything—I mean everything is going according to His Plan. The following months will bring hardship and panic. But through it all, hearts will turn back to the One who loves them.

I leave you today, the day that my dear mother brought forth her first born son some 73 years ago, with these encouraging words from our Creator: “Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generation of old….I, even I am he that comforts you: who are you, that you should be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass…I have put My words in your mouth, and I have covered you in the shadow of My hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say…You are my people (Isa. 51: 9-16). This is His vision for the earth. We need to make our thoughts His thoughts.

God’s Catch-22

God has a Catch-22 going on in His human creation. It seems to be an integral part of His Master Plan to bring mankind to Him. It has to happen so that the next phase of His plan to reproduce Himself can begin.

Remember how Christ, who was all about doing His Father’s work, promised His disciples to make them “fishers of men” (Matt. 4:19)? God is angling to catch human beings. That’s what you do when you fish. You catch.”

What does God want to do with us after He catches us? He wants to reproduce Himself in us by placing His Spirit in our minds and hearts. Like a seed, He then as the Great Gardner helps us to grow—or, rather, He grows within us.

How This Works

The scriptures say that God has given mankind the spirit of slumber. Man is asleep spiritually. And that sleep is a blindness. “For the LORD has poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and has closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers has He covered” (Isa. 29:10; Rom. 11:8).

And when you are spiritually blind, you cannot see the vision of what your Creator is doing. This leads to disastrous results, for “where there is no vision the people perish” (Prov. 29:18).

He has placed the world and all of its vanity and vexation in the human heart so that we would give up and surrender to Him and His plan. Ironically, He uses evil and sin to get us to a place where we will cry out for help and seek the Savior.

Man is never satisfied with sufficiency. The sons of old man Adam have to have a fancier car, finer clothes, and a younger and more beautiful woman in order to stave off temporarily the pangs of the prison of his old selfish nature.

As long as we humans drown in the oceans of our fleshly selfish desires, we will remain blind and asleep as to what God wants to do with us. He wants to take us from the slave dens of sinful shame to His throne room, eventually to sit with Him there, prepared by His Grace to rule the nations.

The Catch

The catch is this: It won’t be us doing the ruling. It will be the Spirit of Christ in us. It will be the King Himself multiplied and reproduced in all His glory—in the new spiritual bodies He has promised to those who love Him and His plan.

When you say, I can’t be like the apostles, much less Christ, you are saying that the Spirit of Christ could never live in me. Of course, you cannot because “you are dead and your life is hid with Christ in God.” This negative thought is a declaration of unbelief in the power of God to transform us! But as the prophet said, “Who has believed our report?” (Isa. 53:1).

The spiritually blind will only begin to see after they are born from above. Christ said, “Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” He also cannot “enter’ it. The Greek says, “born from above,” and in order to be born from above one has to spiritually die with Christ, be buried with Him, and by believing that He was raised from the dead, one experiences his own spiritual resurrection from the dead (Rom. 6:1-12).

That experience comes first before any kind of spiritual growth happens. A dry seed sitting on the shelf cannot grow. It must be buried in the earth, lose its own personal identity and then it sprouts; it resurrects. Then it starts growing. It’s the same with us. Our faith in Christ’s resurrection regenerates us. We don’t work to bring on the above. It is a gift. The honest hard work comes after. To grow up spiritually, to be like the early apostles and prophets and even Christ Himself, we must do certain things. We must study and pray, of course. But study what exactly? You can find some answers in my free books (with free shipping in the USA) that I offer. Here’s the info:  (https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/donate/ ).

Open Letter to the Body of Christ

To my brothers and sisters in the body of our great Messiah and King and Creator. May His peace cover you with the warmth of His love.

I write to you His faithful ones who look out over this evil world, and who long for Him to come back to this bloodstained earth and heal its wounds. I write to you who walk on alone. But you are not alone. I write to you who realize that there is more we should know and more we should do. It is a lonely journey. But you are not alone, for this brother in Spirit walks with you and yearns for our fellowship in a better world.

I miss your eager desire to know our Savior as we walk on, believing that the Father dwells bodily in the Son, of whom we are a member. That means the Father is in us, too. I encourage you to walk on in this truth, knowing that it is His will. Pray according to His will, which is His eternal purpose—to bring us into His throne room in our new spiritual body.

I only ask one thing from you, just five minutes of your time to read these lines of love in Christ to you, and that you write a few lines to me to let me know how you are doing during this stressful time of pestilence and plague. I only ask for a few words from your heart to mine. [You can comment here or email me wayneman5@hotmail.com ]

May His peace and love abound in and through your heart and on out into the world,

Wayne
