Knowing God as He Really Is–The Definition of Immortality

We are well down the road to immortality now.  We have learned that wisdom is being in awe of God.  It is the first step; it is the main thing, for it is the first key that begins to unlock the treasure house of God’s knowledge.  Without this awe of Him we won’t get anywhere.  Then we took step two, knowing His name.  Moses got some wisdom, some awe of God, at the burning bush, and then he had to know His name.  It was a crucial step, to know God’s true name Yahweh.

     And now we have come to our third step: Knowledge of Who He Really Is.  The farther we go down this road that leads to immortality, the more is at stake.  We cannot turn back now; our own hopes of transcending a certain death hangs on our stead-fastness and perseverance at this time.  Immortality, the elixir that our mortal mouths must drink, is the knowledge  of  who  God really is.  This knowledge is the key to unlock the secrets of eternal life.  We have arrived at nothing less than the information that will catapult us over this valley of the shadow of death.  Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Yahshua the Messiah, whom you have sent. John 17:3. NIV.

     Our hopes for arriving at immortality hinge on how well we really know Him—how well we really know His nature, His essence, His Deity, His Godhead.  For us, eternal life depends on whether we really know Him as He really is.  We must straighten out misconceptions of who He is and how He is. 

     Those of us on this road to immortality must realize that only He can grant us true knowledge of Himself.  It will not come through man’s conception of who and how He is.  We must believe upon Him in true knowledge “as the scripture has said,” the way the scriptures really portray Him.

     But that, of course, is the problem.  We all have our own conception of Him.  We think that we have just “come up with it,” but we have received our personal conception of God through what we have been taught by other human beings that we have come in contact with.  It really gets tricky when people have studied out minutely different denominational doctrines, and even though they have “come out” of that organization, they cling tenaciously to its teachings—teachings about who He is. 

     The Savior, 2000 years ago, standing before them in a human flesh body, told them that they were searching the scriptures.  They thought that eternal life was contained in those scriptures of truth.  But, as the  Master  was  pointing  out,  the very writings that they thought would yield immortality for them were the very writings that spoke of Him—the One that they were rejecting!  You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life.  These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life. John 5:39-40, NIV…You study the scriptures diligently, supposing that in having them you have eternal life: yet, although               their testimony points to me, you refuse to come to me for that life. NEB.

     They were studying the scriptures diligently, thinking that immortality would be derived through them.  What writings were they studying that spoke about the Messiah, the Savior?  What scriptures existed then?  They were the books commonly referred to as the Old Testament.  Now  Yahshua, the Savior, said that those old books written by the prophets of ancient Israel, those old books spoke about HIM!

The prophets spoke and wrote  about the Savior by His very Spirit within them

      Let’s go, then, to the prophets where they speak about the Messiah, specifically using the word “Savior.”  He just said in John 5 that the scriptures do testify of Him, so let us go there and see for ourselves what they are saying.  Now Peter tells us that the spirit that was in those prophets was the Spirit of the Savior, Yahshua the Anointed One.  And  they  spoke  and  wrote  down with the Spirit of Yahshua about this immortality, this salvation from a certain death.  This salvation was the theme which the prophets pondered and explored, those who prophesied about the grace of God awaiting you.  They tried to find out what was the time, and what the circumstances, to which the spirit of Christ in them pointed. I Peter 1:10-11, NEB.

     The Spirit of Messiah, which was in Isaiah the prophet said this: But now thus saith Yahweh (the LORD) that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel…For I am Yahweh thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior. Isa. 43:1,3.

     Several important points emerge from this passage that are vital for our understanding of His essence, which in turn is vital for our obtaining immortality.  First, the Spirit of Christ that was in Isaiah said that He was Yahweh! Thus saith Yahweh…I am Yahweh.  When the prophets wrote down the words, “Thus saith Yahweh,”  they were saying that Yahweh is speaking through me the following words.  Yahweh is speaking thusly.  Yahweh, the Father, the Creator, the Supreme Being is using me by speaking through me! Oh, to be used that way, the way He used the prophets!

     Second, the Spirit of Christ is saying that He created and formed Jacob/ Israel.  John confirms this. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3. Paul confirms this as well. For by him were all things created, that are in the heaven, and that are in the earth, visible or invisible…Col. 1:16.

     Third, I am Yahweh thy God, the Holy One of Israel…The  Spirit  of the Messiah speaking through Isaiah now says that He is Yahweh, that He is one God and that He is Israel’s Holy One (the whole House of Israel or the 12 tribes of Jacob/Israel).

      Fourth, the Spirit of the Messiah, God’s Spirit, Yahweh, breathing and speaking through Isaiah says, I am thy Savior…I, even I, am Yahweh; and beside me there is no saviour. Isa.43: 3, 11.  Here Yahweh, which is the Spirit that was in the Messiah, says clearly that He is the Savior and that there is no other savior!  Yahweh, then, was inside the man  Yahshua who was called the Savior, for Yahweh says that there is no other savior except Him. We trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those who believe. I Tim. 4:10.  God was in Christ (the Anointed One) reconciling the world unto Himself. II Cor. 5:19.  It was Yahweh in the man who was the Savior.  Or, in other words, Yahweh-in-human-form is the Savior.            

     Bottom line: the same Spirit that spoke through the prophets, that created Jacob/Israel and everything else, this Great Spirit God dwelt bodily in the man Yahshua the Messiah. His name Yahshua means “Yah-Is-Savior.” It was Yahweh of old, the Yahweh of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, the Yahweh of Moses, David, and all the prophets—  that same Yahweh came down, leaving His spirit-body dimension.  And He came to earth in a flesh and blood human body, walked in our midst doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.  And in due time, He laid down that human body, yielded it up to a sacrificial death, and raised that body in three days to life again, so that we could be restored to His original plan of reproducing Himself.    [This is Chapter 11 from my book, Yah Is Savior: The Road to Immortality.  You can find the whole book at the top of this page.  Just click “Ebook…”] Kenneth Wayne Hancock

Life Out of Death–The Ultimate Paradox

A paradox is “a statement that seems contradictory or absurd but is actually valid or true.”  Life coming out of death is a paradox.    Yet any seed must lose its identity before it will spring back to life in another more glorious fruitful form.  The seed rots and dies in the moist earth and then, through a miraculous Lifeforce, it multiplies itself at the harvest.  One grain of corn yields two or more ears of golden corn.

God is wanting this to play out in our mortal lives here on earth.  The death of self is the only sacrifice that God will accept from us.  He wants us to be a part of Christ’s body, but the only way to get that Life that lasts forever is through a spiritual death.

This death is the baptism that the apostle Paul talked about–being baptized into His death, so that like as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we to can be raised to walk in a newness of life [ 1 ].  It is His resurrection in us that is our only hope  of transcending the grave.  For the only pay that we will receive in our old selfish life is a certain physical death.  “The wages of sin is death” [ 2].   So we need to die now and avoid the rush. 

Let’s get it done.  Many are teaching that you can never get rid of sin in your life.  Where does it say that?  I thought that “all things are possible with God.”  If it is “no longer I that lives, but Christ that lives in me,” then “Is Christ the minister of sin?  God forbid!” [ 3].  Let’s “present our bodies a living sacrifice,” for this is the reasonable thing to do in gratitude for all He has done for us [4 ].

Let’s identify our old self with the sin sacrifice of the Lamb of God.  He took on our sins on Himself on the tree, providing a way for us to be made free from the old sinful cravings and dark selfish actions that we were a slave to all our lifetime [ 5].  We are going to pay for our sinful selfish actions sooner or later.  He said we would.  The upside is that He has provided a way for us to take on His Life after we let our own selfish nature die on the cross.

Most have not heard this true message of what the cross is all about.  They are told that Christ is our substitute.  No, He is our example, and we are to follow His steps [6 ].  This “preaching of the cross” is just a bunch of foolishness to those who are dying in their sins, whether they know they are or not [ 7].  But to us who He is calling and choosing, it is an absolute lifeline, and it is the power of God to change lives.  It is the only way for us to complete what we have been put here on earth for.

What we are doing here

And what is that, you ask?  He is using an elect chosen few of His redeemed ones from all of humanity to reproduce Himself through [8].  He is going to take only those who have submitted themselves to the death of the cross;  He is taking them into His heart to reveal His very essence to them.  They will be in awe of Him and revere His name and will bow to His magnificence as He overshadows their earthly physical plight to do His immortal work on them and then through them.  Those who submit to Him will be changed into His glorious image as His own sons and daughters when He returns to this earth to set it all in order [9 ].  They will rule with Him and be in His inner circle while the rest outside wait for their word on the day’s business of the King’s Government.

Now that is the Life that He’s talking about.  To be His son or daughter, to be a prince or princess by His side as He trains us up to be rulers with Him in His kingdom soon to fill the whole earth.  That is the great destination, the wonderful reaping of our initial humble planting of ourselves into death with Him on the cross.  For “if we have been planted together with Him” into His death, we shall also be raised together with Him in His resurrection [ 10].

Dying with Him does not make sense to the world

Yes, dying with Christ is utter foolishness to the worldly mind.  But to us who He is calling and choosing, it is our ticket to the big show.  And we will be on the stage of this earth, together with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and Noah and Job and Isaiah and Jeremiah and Peter and Paul and all of His sons and daughters who have followed Him in this death of self [11].  If He was good enough to literally and physically die for us, why then should we not spiritually die for Him and, better yet, allow Him to live out His life in us? 

In so doing we are then made free from sin.  And as we take in His Spirit into our new hearts through belief in His resurrection, sin shall not have dominion over us, for we are made free from it and its power over us [ 12].

But how?

It is just too simple and yet, too wonderful to just believe.  Our small, weak, finite minds fail to grasp just how to do this.  How do we get our old self to die and then receive a new life in Christ?  We have to just reckon it so.  We have to count it as a done deal.  He has.  He said that it was already done; the “works were finished” [ 13].  All we need to do is agree with Him and walk in this truth.  He said that our old man “is crucified  with Christ” [ 14].  Notice that is with an –ed, meaning that it is already done and over with in the past.  That’s how God looks at things; that is how his faith and belief works.  Now we need to believe what He believes about us.  It is His faith in His own power in our lives that is the key.  We just need to believe what and how He believes, and we will be changed into His image.  We are now alive unto Him who said that He has raised up all who believe Him [ 15].

Life out of death is the ultimate paradox.  The Savior said that very thing.  “He who seeks to save his life shall lose it.  He who loses his life for my sake shall save it” [ 16].  You will not hear this message in the vast majority of churches; they are trying to increase numbers–not lose membership.  For “few there be to find this way of truth” [17 ].  Yet, those to whom He is granting His grace and favor to at this time will hear this and they will respond and take their old self to the cross, thereby enabling the new man to grow into His likeness.  Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Greatest Hit of the Ages–The Called According to His Purpose*

(Formerly in Israel, if a man went to inquire of God, he would say, “Come, let us go to the seer,” because the prophet of today used to be called a Seer.”  I Samuel 9: 9)

One time I asked the Seer, “What is life all about?  What’s really going on?  Why are we here?”

And then the Seer answered in a sweeping monologue.

First of all, there is a Creator, a Supreme Being with a plan and purpose.  Modern man will just have to get over it and accept that there is Someone higher in the food chain.  Just look around.  Things that are alive come from living things.  If anything ever lived, it owes its existence to something else that was living–of its own kind.  Every living thing reproduces itself.  Since every living thing gets its life from another living being, then an Initial living being, a Supreme Being, had to have given life to all the living.

It is only logical.  Two pieces of granite cannot reproduce.  Only the living things of creation are reproducing, and their pro-creating drive has been ignited by the Creator, the Life Giver. 

But the kicker, though, is that the Creator has put in motion all this reproduction as a type or metaphor of what He is doing with Himself.  The Creator’s plan and purpose is written into the quintessential  action of every living thing–procreation.  His plan and purpose is written into nature, and it is just waiting there to be deciphered.

So what does the secret writing of both nature and the scriptures reveal as to what God is saying?  Answer:  Hey, creation, I’m reproducing Myself, too!  You didn’t think I was going to let you have all the fun of raising a family, did you?  I have a family, too.

And this is how I am going to do it.  My essence is Love.  And I desire to magnify and reproduce Love.  So, in order to reproduce the real Spirit of Love, which is Me, I will create a special being that can contain Me. 

I’ll create this special creature, the human being, male and female.  And I will place within them both a desire to procreate.  I will make them capable of loving with a heart that longs for love.  And their lives will be like a play, lived out on the stage of this earth.

But this play will seem like a tragedy in the first few acts, for the human beings will have tragic flaws.   As my crowning creation, humans will be extremely complex characters.  In their inner being, they will want to do good, but their innate selfishness will thwart their intents to do that good and right thing.

Some humans will eventually come to their wit’s end.  They will do craven acts of unkindness, driven by the first nature I have given them.  Their foolish and selfish heart will drive them to cheat on their spouses, steal from their fellow humans, and tell falsehoods to further their own selfish desires.  And other sins they will do.

But some will feel horrible about their actions.  Their consciences will torture them.  They will long to do good, despite succumbing to the temptations of the old nature.  It is from these who feel the need to repent that I will choose to reproduce Myself in.  They will know that they have done wrong and will search for a place of repentance and redemption as desperately as a lost man in the desert seeks water. 

And they will find forgiveness of all their past evil deeds and thoughts.  Then I will give them of My Spirit, which is their new seed beginning in the garden of their hearts.  And through this new spirit within, they will blossom in love.  And this love will be shed abroad, by them forgiving their fellow human beings–especially those who are still using them for their own selfish desires. 

They will learn to bless those who hurt them and persecute them.  They will love their enemies and do good to all unenlightened human beings.  They will forgive everyone in their old Adamic past, and they will reach out and love any and all.  And they will love Me who gave them a new chance–an opportunity to become one of My children, one of My princes or princesses.

And they will walk on this earth, shining forth this spiritual light of My own reproductive perfectness.  For I will multiply Love, which is my nature, through their realization of the great deliverance I have brought them through.  They will be fountains of forgiveness, shedding forth the refreshing water of life to all so called.

And in due time, I will change these redeemed ones into my immortal offspring.  For they will be those human beings who have believed My word.  In the face of all the gainsayers, they will have persevered despite the doubts of those who persisted in pernicious ways.

And then I said, “So this is what the Bible is all about.”

“Exactly.  It is not about sanctimonious ceremonies in “castles midst the poverty” once or twice a week.  It is about Life, an abundant Life, a life that will last forever.  It is all about God sharing Himself with His creation.  And this Life is the play foreseen and written by God and revealed to a few.  It is a real play produced and directed by God.  He wrote it eons ago, and we as the principal players in this drama should submit to the Director.  The sooner we do, the sooner we will be a part of the Greatest Hit of the Ages.”     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Battle in the Mind–The Weapons of Our Warfare Are Not Carnal [Conversations With the Seer]

I didn’t have to say anything.  I’m sure that my countenance said it all.   The Seer once told me that my face telegraphed quite clearly what was in my heart.  And yet he asked, “What is troubling you?”

I said, “I’m not sure.  I think some doubts are creeping in about God and things.”

“Doubtful thoughts are a formidable weapon that our enemy uses.  They are like mortars hurled at us during those long blackouts that we must endure.”

“It is worse at night.”

“Yes, under the cover of darkness, the doubtful thoughts charge onto the battlefield of our mind.  And the battle insufferably rages on.  Two opposing armies of thought are clashing.  Each is establishing a beachhead in our mind.  Both are digging in for the long haul.  Both are vying for the spoils of our souls.  They do it, first, by controlling our thoughts.  And then our thoughts grow wings and fly past our lips as utterances.  And finally, our words materialize into actions that either justify us or condemn us [1] .  You must know that there is a battle raging.  Make no mistake about it,” the Seer said.

“It’s good to know about the particulars of a war.  When I was in Vietnam, I asked many fellow soldiers and officers, ‘Why are we here?’  And, you know, not one of them could tell me why we were killing and being killed in that hot, muggy hellhole.  Not one.”

“Of course, that is a different kind of battle.  This battle in your mind that I speak of, however, is over our very existence, both present and future.  The outcome of our own personal battle will answer one of two questions.  Will we finally realize that we are created by God, who has a definite will and purpose guiding every human being, which culminates in our surrender to Him?  Or, will we remain adamant, ruled by a secular humanistic delusion, and persist in pretending that we are our own god, serving our own selves, and thereby forgetting the ‘Rock from whence we are hewn’?”

“No wonder I feel torn up inside.  Thoughts and doubts are whirling and churning inside of me.”  I heard a rooster crow and looked out the window at the golden red mist of light in the east.  I hadn’t slept all night and had waited until his lights had come on to come over and get some help.

The Seer continued.  “Yes.  A war is being fought inside of you.  It is the War of the Wills.  God’s will is fighting your own will.  And your own will for your life is being fed and reinforced by the enemy of God.  The “prince and power of the air” [2] supports your determination to hang on to your own purpose for your life.  And our old man’s purpose looks at everything through this prism–what’s in it for me?  You see, God’s thoughts for His creation is opposed to man’s thoughts about himself and his purpose on earth.”

“What are man’s thoughts about himself?”

“In general, the prevailing wind blowing in the politically correct arena is that we are just animals with higher intelligence, that there really is no personal Creator who has a will and purpose for us.  God’s thoughts toward us are that mankind is a special creation, formed and shaped in every way by the Creator for a highly specialized purpose: to be the dwelling place, the temple for God to reside in.  He grants to some eternal life, so that they can house the Eternal One.”

“How does this tie in with the battle?”

“This great destiny of eternal life will be given to those who win the battle staged in the theater of our minds.  For the Creator does not just go, Poof!, and we all are miraculously transposed into gentle, smiling, sweet little humanoid robots who go about saying, ‘Praise the Lord!  Praise the Lord!’  Oh, no.”

“How does He do it then?”

“First, God has given us everything needed for victory–weapons, armor, food.  Yet He has allowed a sly and cunning spiritual enemy to be able to speak to us anonymously by injecting thoughts right into our own brains. It is so deceptive that humans think that these thoughts are coming out of the ether of their own minds.  Because, after all, they reason, I don’t believe in a world of spirits, where a diabolical spirit would do that to me!  And, anyway, if a God of love existed, He would not put those He loved through all this mental anguish and suffering.”

The Seer stopped to emphasize the point.  “That right there.  That thought is an example of the ‘cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive’ [3].  And yet, there is a great paradox at work in this battle.  In the world of man’s wisdom, when you surrender, you lose.  But in this battle, when we surrender to God and His plan, we win!  And through our victory, we realize that when we surrender to Him and His will and purpose for us, then we enlist in His army and begin to march forward helping others in the battle they are fighting for their very souls.”

The truth is that, although of course we lead normal human lives, the battle we are fighting is on the spiritual level.  The very weapons we use are not those of human warfare but powerful in God’s warfare for the destruction of the enemy’s strongholds.  Our battle is to bring down every deceptive fantasy and every imposing defense that men erect against the true knowledge of God.  We even fight to capture every thought until it acknowledges the authority of Christ [4].           Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Cure for Depression

I have found a surefire cure for depression.  It is simple, natural–well, it is really spiritual–and it is free.  No money, clinics, or doctors needed.  The only physician involved in this cure  is the Great Physician.

The cure?  Depression is cured when the sufferer just sits down and thanks God for his blessings.  For a state of depression and a grateful heart cannot co-exist.  There is no such thing as a depressed praiser of God.

As the Savior taught, at the bottom of most maladies we will find a spiritual cause.  Think about it.  When was the last time you saw someone depressed, sitting there on their couch and saying to you, “My friend.  Thank you for coming to visit.  I was just thinking about you.  You know, I thank God for the wonderful friends and family I have.”  That grateful heart cannot utter a depression-filled negative thought.  A depressed grateful person is an oxymoron.  Those two cannot go together.  Impossible.

Depression, sadness, and worry spring from self-centered  thinking.  A depressed person only thinks of themselves.  It all centers on self.  Woe is me! they will say.  Self-pity, fear of what others think, and selfish thoughts cannot exist in a mind and heart that is thankful to God.  It is impossible.

So what can the depressed do?  They simply must stop the negative thinking, just for a moment.  Then think about God and say, “Thank you, God, for _________________.”  Everyone can fill in the blank with one thing.  Sunshine, air, food, a son, a daughter, a wife that has stuck with them through thick and thin, a husband who works and brings home bread and milk.  Hey, fill in the blank with something, and in that very instant of thanksgiving, the depression begins to lift.

The darker the hour, the more need to thank Him.  “In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus (Yahshua) concerning you” [1].  Everything.  The “good” and the “bad.” 

For we must realize that God has diliberately built in hardships and sufferings, so that our belief in Him may be purified [2], and that joy may abound within us.  But most people get down, blame others, or blame themselves, instead of seeing this truth: “Acknowledge Him in all our ways, and He shall direct our paths” [3].

We then, should realize that when negativity attacks our minds through self-centered thoughts bringing on depression,  we should simply thank God.  For depression is caused by a spiritual thought that cannot co-inhabit a grateful mind.      Kenneth Wayne Hancock

This world has one major need right now at the beginning of the 21st Century.  The world doesn’t need another politician telling the people what they want to hear.  The world doesn’t need a steady robust economy to help it through the hard times that have been prophesied upon it.  No.  The world needs the sons of God to arrive on the scene.  They must come forth for these last days.

The whole creation, the apostle Paul wrote, (whether it knows it or not), is anxiously awaiting the sons of God to come upon the world stage.  For the sons of God will have something that all mortals walking the face of the earth must have.  They will have the key that will set the whole creation free from the chains of a certain physical death.  These children of the Most High are God’s elect, His sons made in His image, and they are what this world needs.  They are the ones who will have cut through all of the deception and vice in this world system.  They alone will see the Spirit and walk in the Spirit and be filled with the Spirit of the living Yahweh.  They will build the old waste places and build the spiritual walls to the heavenly city.

Why the World Needs the Sons of God

The creation has purposely been subjected to mortality by its Creator God. The impending gloom of a certain death is no accident or aberration of God’s  original  plan.  It  has  been  His  will  all  along  for  death  to  come to all living.  And then, a few mortals will be brought by Him to an awareness of the abiding power of His spiritual presence and will become His actual spiritual children. He will change them and will engulf them with immortality one day soon.   And it is through them that the whole creation will finally come to know this glorious liberty from a certain physical death. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.  For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21, NIV. 

     Every living thing on this planet will die; the whole creation will decay and go back to dust.  And we, this earthly creation, are “in bondage of corruption,” as it says in the King James Version.

The word “corruption” is translated from the Greek word phthora, #5356 in Strong’s.  It means “decay.”  Its root comes from #5351 phthio, to waste, shrivel, or wither.  We, the creation, are bound to become decaying matter someday.  And all of us, be we religious or not, are groaning under the impending physical doom that awaits us.

All of us have a built in desire to live forever.  Every ancient culture, without exception, was concerned with this impending gloom of an early exit from life.  All the ancient religions were concerned about how to secure immortality  for  the  mortal.   And  so  it  is  with religions today.  Man keeps on waiting, waiting, waiting for something real that will happen in order to deliver them from a certain death.

The creation is like the wife of the Creator, who is in the  deep  pains  of childbirth.  She is struggling to deliver her  children,  the  sons  of God.  For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.  And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8: 22-23, KJV.

The whole creation is anxiously awaiting the arrival of the sons of God because they are the first ones who will be released from mortality’s chains.  They will be the first ones who will not have to taste death.  And then after they are made known, the creation can look forward to its redemption.  That is how important the sons of God are.  When they are adopted or placed as sons, then a new era begins—an era where immortals will stride the earth, showing forth God’s way.

We Who Have Some Truth Also Desperately Need the Sons of God

Just look around us.  What do we see in every corner?  We see lurid trash in political high places, filthy-minded  movies and TV.  There is no shame to the world system.  And it is not getting any better.  So we try to lock in on the word of God.  We endeavor to glimpse a truth here, a truth there.  Some of us are trying to lead a holy life, but we “see through a glass darkly.”  We know, or should know that we are not walking in all truth.  For if we were, we would be bearing the same spiritual fruit as the prophets and apostles of God.  And we can’t seem to get in agreement and one accord with other sincere followers of Christ.

As  a  large  body  of  people,  we  can’t  see  eye  to   eye enough to get together.  Divisions abound.  We, if we are blessed, have a place to meet with a few other people who share some of our own beliefs, but something is dras-tically missing.  The unity of the Spirit is only a dream, for one group does not see eye to eye with another.  We are to be in one mind and one accord, and yet, who is to say just what that one mind is?  Who has the authority to say for sure anything?  Who has a sure word? There are several thousand “Christian” denominations, and they are growing exponentially daily.  There is probably a different concept of God and His plan for every one of His professing followers.

And it appears that the enemy is gaining ground, and we, the body of Christ, because of our disagreements and lack of unity, are seemingly losing ground as far as any “great move of truth” is concerned.

So what is the answer to this dilemma?  It is as if Yahweh Himself is needed to come down and just flat appear to His select few, whoever they are!  That would clear up the dim vision of those He has chosen.  They would definitely “get on the same page” after that shared glorious experience.  In the light of His own countenance and glow filling the room each would be in, He would straighten out off-concepts, purge out old leaven, old hypocrisies, and false concepts of Himself.  There would be no self-delusion if the King Himself came down to a handful!

Then a fire would well up from out of their bones!  Then they would cry to His people in His stead.  They would be His voice with his word welling up and out as springs gush out making rivers where dry land once was.

That is what we all need.  We need a sure word.  We need the Captain of our faith Himself to get a cadre of His brothers to catch on fire and, in turn, ignite the world.  We need a group of people baptized with the Spirit and with fire.   We need them!   We groan within ourselves, longing for someone to stand in the gap between God and the world.

That is the only thing that will ever turn this world upside down—if the people of the world were ready and knew they had a need for God in human form, had a need for the sons of the living God.

This whole creation is crying and groaning looking for someone sincere and true to believe in.  The heroes are gone; the people run to their idols of music and movies.  Those are their gods—gods who cannot see or hear them and their longings and needs, for their gods can see no one but themselves.  The whole creation does not know it, but they are groaning and longing for the manifestation of the sons of God.  And these sons will walk with the Lamb wherever He goes, for they shall be like Him.  These are they who will do the greater works that the Master spoke of.

It All Hinges on the Sons, But Do They Know Who They Are?

Yes, the manifestation of the sons of God is of extreme importance in God’s plan, but do they know who they are?  Do they realize their calling that He has placed on them?   Do  they  know  that  He  knew  them  long  before their earthly sojourn began?  Do they at present realize that  He  has  already  given  them  a  glorious   destiny—a destiny that has them justified from sin, set apart for this special work, and also glorified from heaven?  Does God’s elect, His chosen ones, know these things?

Have they called on His name and restored their heart back to Him?  But if they haven’t believed on Him, then how are they to call on Him?  And how can they believe on this God if they have never heard Him, never heard His Spirit, never heard Him who is the Word?  They are going to have to hear Him being spoken out of the mouth of another son in order to believe on Him.  And how shall these prospective sons hear unless there be a preacher?  And who is really going to be effective as a preacher?  The world is full of preachers.  Anyone who thinks they have heard from God calls himself a preacher.  The future sons will be reached by those who proclaim the truth.  And these proclaimers will be sent.  For whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved.  How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?  And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

In Him Was Life–The Light of Men

God, the creative Life Force, has now made it possible for His very Life essence to be placed into the human beings that He has created.  He is Eternal Life, and “God is a  Spirit.”  And when He places Himself in a human being, that person has eternal life dwelling in him.  The promise is unto us of immortality.  But there is only one way to attain this most precious of gifts.

Only one way, and Christ is the way.  He alone is the Road to Immortality.  He said as much.  “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”  The Father, who is that original Spirit Life Force, dwelt bodily and fully in the man known in the English speaking world as Jesus Christ.  That is why Christ continued and said, “No man comes unto the Father, but by me” (John 14: 6). 

His disciple Philip asked Him to show the Father to them.  And He responded, He that has seen me has seen the Father…the Father that dwells in me, He does the works.  Then Christ commands them to believe Him that the Father is in Him (John 14: 9-11).  Those who can do this will go on to do greater works than what even Christ had done (v. 12). 

Christ is the mediator between the Father and mankind.  He alone was predestined to overcome all things and provide the way into the Most Holy Place of the Father’s Presence, which is the Spirit coming into us and us coming into Him.

So this notion that Christ Jesus, who actually was called by His Hebrew name Yahshua during the 1st and 2nd centuries–this notion that He was just another great teacher or enlightened sage must be discarded once and for all.  Anyway, if He was such a great teacher, then why doesn’t everyone believe His teachings?  If He was so enlightened, then why doesn’t everbody follow Him?

In Him Was Life

The scriptures of truth declare that “in Him was life.”  Christ had and has eternal Life residing in Himself.  And this Life Force, which is the Spirit/Father, is Light.  “In Him was life; and the life was the light of men” (John 1: 4). 

It is here that it gets sticky for the human race.  For they are living their lives in the darkness of hidden sins and lies, and “the Light shines in the darkness,” and the darkness of men’s souls has never quenched, nor overcome, nor ever put the Light out.  For the Light is the very Life Force of the Father, who is immortal.

How does the Light shine into the darkness of the human heart?  It exposes the sin and evil that dwells therein.  The Light shines into the heart of darkness and convicts it of sin and forces it to change, to repent.  And it is here that most of the masses of humanity lose interest in Christ and His message of regeneration; they feel that they are okay and have no need to change.

Yet the Savior and His apostles’ message was, “Repent of your sins.”  His forerunner, the prophet John the Baptist, witnessed to all at Christ’s appearance at the river, “Behold, the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world” (John 1: 8).  He was saying that Christ has the Father in Him and He is the true Light that will search out the dark hidden recesses of your heart and soul.  He will provide the way for you to not have sin plaguing you daily.  He will take away your sin and anyone else’s that hears and obeys Him.  He will literally “save His people from their sins,” which is exactly what His Hebrew name Yahshua means–“Yahweh is the Savior.”  Yahweh, the Father, dwells fully in the Son, and He delivers us from sin and sinning.

His Spirit-Life-Love is Light insomuch as it exposes evil, selfish darkness.  When a person in darkness rejects the Light, then condemnation follows.  Christ and those He dwells in do not condemn anyone.  They merely allow Him to live His righteous life in their daily walk and leave the judging to Him.  A person is condemned when he rejects the Light by loving darkness and evil rather than drawing near to the Light.  In fact, everyone who does evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light because they don’t want their evil deeds to be exposed.  “Everyone that does evil hates the light, because their deeds are evil” (John 3: 17-21). 

One must get past the veil of Christ’s flesh and see the Father in Him, and thereby allow the healing Light of truth cleanse our hearts and set us upon the right path.  This takes humility–a commodity sorely lacking here on earth.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Parable of the Net–The Immortal Kingdom and Its Counterfeit

Parables Are Not Nice Little Stories

First, parables are not nice little stories to help us understand the things of God.   They, on the contrary, conceal hidden mysteries concerning the kingdom (government) of the Creator (Yahweh).  What this parable reveals about His governance has been “kept secret from the foundations of the world” (Matt. 13:35).  To the masses He speaks in parables so that only those who are suppose to receive the secrets will get them, leaving the others blinded (13:13-16).

“The Parable of the Net” is the seventh and last parable that Christ spoke in Matthew 13.  “The kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.  So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth” (13: 47-50).

The Key to the Parable of the Net

The key to understanding this parable and its rich secrets is found in the phrase “end of the world.”  This speaks of the demise of all the current kingdoms and governments of man as seen in the interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream in Daniel 2: 36-45).  All of man’s governments will be crushed by the “stone kingdom” which is the “kingdom of heaven” headed by the Son of man Himself, known to the world as Jesus Christ, but known to a few by His Hebrew name, Yahshua.  He is the “stone that the builders {of governments} rejected.”

His government “is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him” (Dan. 7: 27).  His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom for two reasons: The King is immortal, and His children who rule with Him will be immortal as well.  That’s what the Good Book is about–the taking of His chosen ones to Immortality, the conquering of our final enemy, Death.  That’s it in a nutshell–the doing of His will and purpose.  Any other endeavor enshrouds man in pale, lifeless vanity, soon to be forgotten by the Living.

His kingdom that replaces the world system at the end of this age will be  populated by immortals–those with “eternal life” or “everlasting life” {Oh, we say those words and read and quote those scriptures that contain them, but have we really believed them?}.  He is, after all, the “God of the living and not the dead.”  They have told us about “going to heaven” but this “kingdom of heaven” headed by Christ will be established right here on earth.  There will be a few mortals who will believe this and walk with Him here.

Satan Presents the Counterfeit to the Kingdom of God

God’s designated enemy is Satan, and he knows about Yahweh’s plan to establish His kingdom in the earth.  Satan’s mission is to counterfeit it–to present to mankind alternative ways to “get to heaven,” or achieve immortality.

History is strewn with discarded teachings that promise immortality.  Almost every culture had it as its focus.  The ancient Egyptians had their mummification rituals; the Hindus their nirvana; the Aztecs their bloody human sacrifices buying  a ticket to the afterlife; the Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, and on down to the promise of heaven and paradise of Christendom and Islam.

The Net Catches All Who Shoot for Immortality

So then, in the parable of the net, we see that God’s kingdom operates as a net that catches all “comers”–all who would attain immortality the lawful way and “some other way.”  We see two camps: those few in history seeking eternal life in Yahweh’s kingdom and those endeavoring to live forever by some other means.

This idea of achieving immortality is ancient and has been adrift in the “sea of mankind” since the beginning of humanity.  “Sea”  is the symbol in scripture for the masses of humanity.  The kingdom of heaven’s essence is the promise of immortality and, like a net, it has been cast out there into everyone’s heart and mind–the desire to live on.  Like a net, every one is caught with this idea in mind–the desire to live forever.

There is a time in the near future when God will deem the net to be full.  This will be the “end of the world,” or the end of life as we know it to be.  Christ will return to assume His literal throne right here on earth.  Those things that offend His little ones He will root out and destroy.  This will usher in a thousand year reign of peace and love in the earth.  No more war, no more tears, no more heartache and pain.  The Prince of Peace will send His representatives into every corner of this ravished earth, teaching all about His glorious reign (See my book here     http://yahwehisthesavior.com/epilogue1.htm ).

Funny how this very medium is called “The NET.”  This inter-Net is right on time to be used as a net to catch all kinds who would live forever, for every conceiveable philosophical thought thrives here.  Funny how the ancient parable of the net is being enacted by high tech means in these latter days.    Kenneth Wayne Hancock

Conversations With the Seer–What is the Light of God?

(Formerly in Israel, if a man went to inquire of God, he would say, “Come, let us go to the Seer,” because the prophet of today used to be called a Seer. I Samuel 9: 9)

I came to the Seer with a question about the Light.  I was reading the words, but I just could not wrap my mind around it.  So I asked, “What is the Light?”

“The Light is the life of God,” he said with a smile.  “Whenever a person receives His life, then they are receiving the Light.”

“How does this tie in with Christ being the Light of the world?”

“Eternal Life was and is in Christ.  The fulness of the very life of God dwelt bodily in Christ, and it is this Eternal Life that is the Light.  His Life enlightens natural man.  Man sits in darkness, drifting aimlessly, a victim of kneejerk responses that oftentimes land him into trouble.  When unregenerate man runs into this Eternal Life, a light shines brightly into his dark soul.  His “heart of darkness” is exposed.  He sees that someone is leading a righteous life, revealing his life to be unrighteous and sinful.  He doesn’t understand at this point how all this happens.  This is how the Light shines into darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not (1).

“How does this work?”

“God’s Life in Christ is Light.  The very nature of Light is to shine into darkness.  But to understand this spiritual Light, we must examine natural light that enters our earthly eyes every morning.  Just like the light from the sun searches out and dispels corners and pockets of the darkness of night, even so the Life of God in Christ searches out and reveals the darkness in the hearts of sinful human beings.  The positive creative goodness of His Eternal Life can’t help but go where sin, evil, and darkness resides.”

“I understand this, but why does it do this?”  I ask.

“It hinges on why God created human beings in the first place.  Mankind was created to house the Eternal Life of God.  Nothing less.  And since what God does, He does forever, He still is seeking out a place to reside.  He’s looking for a home.  Our bodies are designed to be His temple.  And He has not stopped searching for a people to live in.”

“Yes.  ‘He seeketh such to worship Him–in spirit and in truth.’  Christ and the woman at the well” (2).

“Exactly.  This incident actually shows us what true worship is.  He told her that God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him will have His Spirit, His very Life, living in them.  God is searching the hearts of men and women everywhere as sunlight searches out darkness.”

“But why doesn’t everyone surrender to the Light when it enters into their thinking?”

“When the human heart is doing evil, it shies away from the Light, which is His Life.  The sinful heart is selfish and does not want to surrender to God’s Life, which demands a change.  Most prefer to continue to live their old lives.  But He wants His temple clean of all the evil because He can’t dwell where evil is.  But some persist in their evil ways.  The scriptures say, For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be discovered.  But he that does truth comes to the light so that his deeds may become known” (3).

“So everyone makes his or her choice.”

“Yes.  This one thing all must realize.  This Eternal Life which trumps death, which is the key to immortality, the thing that everyone wishes for–this Eternal Life is in Christ.  When someone rejects Him and His words, they are not rejecting some nice man who taught good principles in Galilee 2,000 years ago.  No.  They are rejecting Life and their chance at immortality.  He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.  When we believe that God (Yahweh), the supreme Creator, dwelt bodily in Christ, we have LIFE.  And His LIFE is man’s Light that shines into the selfish heart and drives the darkness out (4).     Those that receive the Light, those who receive this Eternal Life into their hearts, these are the ones that He will give power to, to become the sons and daughters of God, which is believing what His name means.  But that’s another day” (5).

And with that, I thanked the Seer for sharing his thoughts on the Light.  I went out, wondering if I would ever be able to contain the Light.  And then the thought came, I will not put on you more than you are able to bear.  And that made me smile.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

“All Is Vanity” Without the Holy Spirit

     Without God’s Spirit dwelling within us, we are only a member of the walking dead who spend a few nightly whispers with loved ones and then bury our dead and wait to be buried in turn.   

     Without the Spirit of God that makes alive whatever it touches and lives in, we are just as good as dead.  Without His Spirit, we walk around breathing borrowed air into the lungs of an incredibly delicate and fragile shell.  And our  shell  will in a few moments, comparatively speaking, go back to dust from where it came, and our brief stint at self-glory here on earth will not be  remembered anymore.  Every thing that man says and does without the Spirit of God is vain and of no profit in the final analysis.

     But, if we ask Him, He will grant us a portion, an earnest, a down payment of His Spirit.  And that Spirit will come into us to replace that old heart and spirit, and it will grow like a tiny seed in a large garden, and we will come alive.  We must water it with our prayers and feed it with our study.  And that little portion of His Spirit will grow up into a full-fledged son or daughter of the King.  And we, the sons and daughters of God, will someday be transformed in a twinkling of an eye, and we “will be changed” when immortality will come down out of heaven to swallow up our shell that can die.

     Without His Spirit, we are the walking dead doomed to dust, unremembered, in the tombs of time.  But with His Spirit dwelling within us, we are destined to be His sons and daughters, sitting with Him on His throne–immortals whose legacy is neverending.              Kenneth Wayne Hancock
