God’s Chosen People–The Lost Sheep of the House of Israel

In these latter days, God is searching for His people. The unenlightened will respond, saying that the people known as Jews today are His people, so no problem finding them.

But they are wrong. 85% of today’s Jews did not spring from the loins of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel [1]. They are not the “lost sheep of the House of Israel” that Christ was only sent to, but are of a Turko-Mongol tribe known as the Khazars who converted en masse to Judaism at the heighth of their power during the Middle Ages.

These people are not God’s chosen people who He scattered in 721 B.C. and 603 B.C.–the House of Israel (ten tribes) and the House of Judah (two tribes), respectively. Yahweh likens His chosen people to sheep, the sheep of His pasture.

And although they strayed and sinned against Him and He scattered them, He is jealous in His watching care over them, having something wonderful planned for them at the end of this age.

Our job as His elect, is to sift through all the information out there, both true and false, and share the truth with those who are slated to come into His government, His kingdom.

But some teachers are persisting on teaching falsehoods and lies about God’s plan and purpose, about the endtimes, and about just who His people are.

In the scriptures, He refers to the religious leaders of the 12 tribes of Israel down through the centruies as “the shepherds of Israel.” These shepherds–the rabbis, pastors, ministers, priests, evangelists, prophets, teachers, and pastors–have not fed the flock of Yahweh with His truth. In fact, they have hidden the truth about Yahweh’s identity, His name and its significance and meaning, and His plan and purpose in reproducing Himself in this earth in His elect.

Another Gospel

They have substituted “another gospel,” another name, and another false vision that does not agree with the prophets’ and apostles’ vision of Yah in His kingdom glory.

Furthermore, these false shepherds grow rich from His people. They fleece the people of their money, deceiving them into supporting a system that churns out falsehoods, misconceptions, and myths about the Creator.

Because of all this, Yahweh through the prophet Ezekiel prophesied against these shepherds. “Woe be to the shepherds of Israel that do feed themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flocks?” (34: 2). He is saying, You profit from my people, but you don’t do anything good for them. You don’t feed them; you don’t comfort the sick or gather the lost. “But with force and cruelty have you ruled them” (v. 3-4).

And because of you wicked pastors, my sheep were scattered and “wandered through all the mountains, and upon every high hill…upon all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them” (v. 5-6). No one eaten up by the world system cares about the “lost sheep of the House of Israel,” who Jesus/Yahshua said He was only sent to. What great importance He placed upon them! Christ’s Spirit through the apostle James wrote his book to them! “James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.” To the twelve tribes that were already by then, 700 years 0n, scattered “north and west” of Jerusalem. James’ mind was thinking the same thoughts as his Master Jesus/Yahshua. He knew that he was sent to the lost sheep.

Should we think that all the other apostles were any less mindful of these “lost sheep of the House of Israel”? This proves that the above message delivered by the Holy Ghost through His prophet Ezekiel about His sheep and their false shepherds was far-reaching, spanning many centuries, even to the end of our age!

And so the Spirit has a message for the sheep and their false shepherds today. “O ye shepherds, hear the word of the LORD (Yahweh)…Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand…” And the false pastors will stop feeding My people, and they will stop making their living from them. “For I will deliver my flock from their mouth” (v. 7-10). Falling into the hands of the living God is a fearful thing! I would not want the Creator to be angry with me and be against me because I was teaching false doctrines!

God Is Searching for His Lost Sheep

Yahweh goes on to say that “I will search my sheep, and seek them out.” God will find them where they are scattered all over this world. He will feed them with truth, seeking out His lost ones. They are lost, for they know not who they are; they do not know that they are the descendants of the Twelve Tribes of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. They not only do not know who they are, they do not know that God Almighty is seeking them out.

Yes, He is seeking them out by first placing in them a hunger and a need to know their spiritual roots. Meanwhile, God is placing in the hearts of true shepherds the true knowledge of His plan and purpose, and they will with the Great Shepherd at the helm teach the lost sheep about Him and His kingdom and how He is regathering and restoring His people to the original prominence they once had with Him.

God will find them where they are scattered all over the earth. He will heal them and save them, and will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even His servant David (v. 23). Yes, King David in his new spiritual body will be over us in the kingdom. Christ is coming back to establish His government of the entire earth. There will be peace in His kingdom and “showers of blessing” will fall on the land for His people (v. 26).

To be a part of this, we, the sheep of His pasture, must prove all things out that are taught to us. Question everything and pray for God’s guidance in proving a teaching–whether it is true or false. We must dig deep, very deep into the spiritual matters if we want to reign with Him at the end of this age. Kenneth Wayne Hancock

No Rapture–Further Proof

Many Christians feel that, well, God would just not allow His true people to go through the Great Tribulation Period. God would just not let us suffer like that because He loves us.

Many reason that God is too merciful and through Christ’s sacrifice we have been redeemed. So God would not allow His Christians of the modern era be killed during Tribulation and waste, as it were, His redemptive work in us.

God did say, “I change not…I am the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Mal. 3: 6; Heb. 13: 8). So we need to find out what He has done in the past; that will be the key to gain understanding about this mystery.

He also said, “My thoughts are not your thoughts; neither are your ways my ways” (Isa. 55: 8). Man thinks with man’s wisdom. But God’s ways are grounded in precedent that He has laid out throughout history, telling “the end from the beginning.” We all need to get this one thing: God is sovereign and will do things His way, not how we would do it. “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Prov. 14: 12). It seems right that God would not let His followers suffer through the tribulation period. But that is man’s thinking.

I recently had a comment supporting the rapture. It was well reasoned and articulated. In it the reader said, “God couldn’t protect them all [Christians during the Tribulation] AND fulfill what has been prophesied.” I disagree in that “with God all things are possible.” God can do with us whatever He chooses to do

He also said that “God has always removed his own from places that would receive his judgmentl.” I replied, “Where does it say that?” In fact, the scriptures reveal just the opposite.

Before the Great Tribulation Period begins, God induces the 7 year tribulation by first opening the seals of the book that contains the Great Tribulation Period in its pages. These seals include the world wars, calamity of nations, famine, and Death [seals 1-4]. To think that these God ordained catastrophes, which are the seals of the end time book opened by Jesus Himself–did not include true Christians is not thinking this thing through. I know that of the 500,000 American dead in World War II, there were several thousand American Christians who were killed. And that was just one war since Christ started opening the seals–His doing.

Look at the fifth seal in Rev. 6: 9-11: the souls of Christians killed are crying, Revenge us. And they are told to wait until their fellow Christians that should be killed should be fulfilled. Should be killed?

And what about the sixth seal–the mother of all natural disasters–great earthquake, “stars of heaven” falling into the earth [asteroids, meteorites], the “kings of the earth and the great men” say to the mountains, Fall on us and hide us from the face of him that sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb: for the great day of His wrath is come…” (6:15-17).

Christ even alludes to this time of the opening of the sixth seal when He spoke to those women, mourning for Him because of the imminent death by crucifixion. “Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.” Why? Because of the hardships on the little children brought on by the sixth seal. “For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren…” For the barren women won’t have children that will suffer through tribulation. “Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us” (Luke 23: 28-30). These are the exact words used by the “rich men” in Rev. 6 when earth wide disaster hits. And He said that to His followers!

So God’s wrath has already started; it is all His doing and His followers are still on the earth. With all of these seals opening, Christians unfortunately may be killed. But for us, “to die is gain.” And this is just the preview of the trumpets and vials to come during the actual 7 year Tribulation.

Moreover, Christ is speaking directly about the Great Tribulation Period in Matt. 24. At the time of the abomination of desolation, “there shall be great tribulation…and except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake, those days shall be shortened” (Matt. 24: 15, 21-22). We are talking about the real flesh bodies of the elect of God, perishing right along with the rest of humanity except that God would intervene and cut the wrath time short.

Historical Proof

Furthermore, here is biblical historical proof that God’s followers perish along with the unrighteous–done by God’s own hand: God is warning Jerusalem through Ezekiel. “Behold, I am against thee, and will draw out my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked…against all flesh…” (21: 2-4). What was Yahweh’s sword? The Babylonian army. “…That the sword of the king of Babylon may come” (v. 19). At the time of the fall of Jerusalem about 600 B.C., God still had “7,000 that had not bowed the knee to Baal,” and some of them perished by the sword of the LORD–Babylonia.

So we see that Christians have been and may be slain through God’s auspices; He is sovereign and can do His plan exactly the way He wants to. Perhaps this is what it means when it says, “You gave us up to be devoured like sheep and have scattered us among the nations…You have made us a reproach to our neighbors, the scorn and derision of those around us…All this happened to us, though we had not forgotten you or been false to your covenant” (Psm 44: 11, 13, 17, NIV). And, yet, “as it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter” (Rom 8:36).

God is sovereign, and His way of doing things is not our way. He has His reasons why His followers will not be raptured, why no one will be raptured–a concept foreign to the early church apostles and fathers–a concept literally born in a dream by a woman in the 19th Century.

The Elect of God and the Latter Rain

I have come to the point where I have stopped asking God questions like, God, where are your elect in the earth? And, when and how will they get on the same spiritual page so that they grow to a point to be able to do the 100 fold exploits that You said they would do in these latter days?

I am talking, of course, about His elect, His chosen few, His firstfruits, His princes and princesses, His “little flock,” His 100-fold fruitbearers in this final age before Christ comes back to earth to rule and reign for 1,000 years.

The Latter Rain

They go by many names in the scriptures, but few, sadly, in churchianity, speak about them. Few know of these who are spoken of in Revelation 7 and 14, and in many books of the Bible. Few believe that a group could “follow the Lamb whithersoever He goes” and “be strong and do exploits in the land.” But many in churchianity will tell you that you cannot be like Christ. Such negativity! To them we must say, Well, if you won’t let me be like Christ, will you let me be like Peter, James, John, and Paul? They started out just like us, and when infused and filled with the Holy Spirit, they were used mightily to heal the sick, raise the dead, and teach the kingdom of God and His righteousness. To be like the early apostles–that will be close enough.

Yet Christ’s apostles were a type and a foreshadowing of the “glory that shall be revealed in us” (Rom. 18: 8). Remember when Christ sent His twelve disciples out and gave them power to heal and cast out devils? That was a miniature glimpse of His elect going out all over the earth preaching the kingdom of God just before Christ’s return. All the healings and miracles done by them were a miniature snapshot of the magnitude that will transpire in our day. Later, that outpouring of His Spirit at Pentecost was the early rain of His Spirit, which came down moderately. It came down on just a few 2,000 years ago. The latter spiritual rain in our day will fall abundantly in order to cover the now seven billion people on our aging planet. For all will see God’s Spirit moving through His manifested sons and daughters.

So I’ve stopped wondering when and where and how they will come forth.

Awaking Out of the Deep Sleep

The point is that they will come forth, for God will awaken them out of the worldly slumber that has anesthetized them with the drug of forgetfulness. They at present don’t remember what they already were with Him in ages past (Eph. 1: 4). But they are now stirring out of their comas, and they are waking up hungry for spiritual milk. And they will suck the spiritual milk of His doctrine until they “are no longer children, tossed to and fro, and carried by every wind of doctrine” (Eph. 4: 14). And they will desire the “stong meat” of the word of God. And then they will fully realize and believe that God has chosen us “in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.”

God is leading His elect into greener pastures of heavenly truth.
And they will long to know and do the truths that they have been called to do. And in doing so, they will be. They will become His fully manifested sons and daughters, “prepared unto every good work.”

They are out there. I know that these words flowing out the tips of my fingers will be read by some of them, for I do believe that His word will not return unto Him void, but will accomplish what He sent it to do (Isa. 55: 11).

His elect are out there, scattered all over the earth. Some are perhaps reading about themselves right now, their hearts being stirred by the movement of the waters of the Spirit of life, hearing about their destiny and becoming “established in the present truth.”

How do I know that they are growing and developing? His word says that they are. For He “opens a door that no man can shut” (Rev. 3: 8). And no one can enter into that door of sonship except God open it. It is all Him and His doing; it is His choosing and His favor that He showers on the blessed “few.” That’s right–a few. As Christ said, “Narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matt. 7: 14). It is the Father that chooses us. He’s the Great Fisherman, and when He sets the hook in our jaw, we shall be reeled in.

So knowing all this, it gives me peace to know that God is in charge of getting His body together and imbuing them with power to get done what He wants done.

So, I’ve stopped agonizing about it all. Patience is one of the fruits of His Spirit inside us. It’s going to take patience to wait for His harvest to come. My job is to write His plan with clarity the best I can and share it with those who are interested, and to rest, knowing that He will bring it all to pass in His own sweet time. Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Lost Sheep, The 144,000–God Searching for His People

God is searching for His people in these latter days. Granted, He loves the whole world and everyone in it, but there is only one people on the face of this big wide earth that He is actually searching for. It is the people He chose way back in Abraham’s day, who would be called by Abraham’s grandson’s name—Israel, meaning “Prince with God.” Yes, salvation is open to all of His creation, but He has “not cast away His people which He foreknew.” He is searching for them now. To understand His heart and the importance that His people have in His plan for our day, we must rehearse their trail through Bible history.

You know the story about His chosen people—how Yahweh the Creator chose out a people to reveal Himself to and through—a people who came out of the loins of Adam and Eve about 6,000 years ago, a special creation with a special purpose in the mind of God. How Abraham and Sarah were promised a miracle son in the book of Genesis—how he would be called Isaac, and he would have Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. And Jacob/Israel had 12 sons, and they multiplied and remained the chosen people of God.

And then for most people it gets fuzzy. Most remember a few “Bible stories.” Few study the Bible in depth to see where the thread of prophecy leads. The 12 sons married and multiplied into small clans or tribes. Jacob/Israel’s favorite son Joseph was sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. Famine gripped the land and Jacob/Israel and his 11 sons and their families had to go down to Egypt to buy food. In the mean time, Joseph had by the miraculous hand of God become the governor of Egypt, Pharaoh’s right hand man.

Joseph, a type of the Messiah, has mercy on his brothers and their families, forgiving them and setting them up. The Hebrews then stay in Egypt and have it good there and grow over the next 400 years to 3 million, a country within a country. In the course of time, these 12 tribes of people, all the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel, are enslaved by the Egyptians. Moses, a Hebrew child reared as an Egyptian prince by Pharaoh’s sister, is called by Yahweh to deliver the children of Israel (all 12 tribes). Through many miracles like the parting of the Red Sea, Moses leads God’s people into the Promised Land, into the land of Canaan.

After much adventure and misadventure, Joshua, Moses’ protégé, leads them on in, and they conquer the land. Each of the 12 tribes gets an inheritance of actual real estate and they take up residence.

Their form of government is a theocracy—God ruling them through His representatives, the prophets and the judges. They are, however, extremely unruly, and seek after other gods and provoke Yahweh to anger and jealousy. When things go bad for them, they cry out to Yahweh and He comes to their rescue. When things are good, food and prosperity plentiful, then they forget Him and, what He calls, “whore after other gods.” He likens them to His wife.

This goes on for about 500 years, from about 1500 B.C. to 1,000 B.C. At this time they want to be like the other nations around them; they want a king like they have. And so, against Samuel the prophet’s warning, God gives them King Saul, who is later deposed for His sins, and then has Samuel anoint “a man after God’s own heart,” the illustrious David, the son of Jesse, the ancestor of Jesus/Yahshua.

Later, David’s son Solomon is crowned King of Israel, meaning he is the king of all twelve tribes of Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. Solomon was a great man, but his kingdom would be torn in two because of His idolatry. For he “loved many strange women…of the nations concerning which Yahweh said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go into them…” (I Kings 11: 1-2). So God told Solomon that because you have done this, “I will surely rend the kingdom from thee” (v. 11). For David’s sake, Yahweh waited until after Solomon’s death to divide the 12 tribed kingdom.

In about 975 B. C., a civil war broke out and it split into two kingdoms, the Kingdom of Israel with ten of the twelve tribes, and the Kingdom of Judah with the other two tribes. The Kingdom of Israel (10 tribes) lay to the north with its capital Samaria. The Kingdom of Judah lay to the south with its capital Jerusalem. They both had their own kings, with their own religious and political systems. In fact, one can read about them at war with each other in many parts of the Bible.

Yahweh warned them that He would punish them for their evil ways going back hundreds of years. And really nothing changed after the split. Both Houses, both the House of Israel (10 tribes) and the House of Judah (2 tribes), kept doing evil in God’s sight over the next 300+ years. They kept breaking His 10 commandment law. Yet He was faithful, sending prophets to both kingdoms, admonishing them to turn from their evil ways.

Until, finally, Yahweh had had enough. For His chosen people’s own good, He would do the unthinkable. He would scatter them to the four winds. He would raise up terrible nations to sweep down upon their little kingdoms, and to gobble them up and slay some of them and to lead them into captivity. He had warned them through His prophets of this very detestable thing, yet they would not hearken. Prophets like Elijah, Isaiah, and Jeremiah, among many others cried unto them, reminding them of the great heritage, and warning them to repent and turn their hearts back to God, but they would not hear of it. They were smug in their assurance that their new way of worship was proper. But they had other gods before the true Creator God, and had forgotten the Rock “from which they were hewn.”

And so, in 721 B. C., the fierce Assyrian Empire swooped down upon the northern Kingdom of Israel (ten tribes) and led them back east to their capital city of Nineveh. And these enslaved offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob/Israel became lost. They lost their identity as part of God’s chosen people. They disappeared into the mists of time, and modern scholars are hard pressed to shed light on just where they went or what happened to them. But “God has not cast away His people which He foreknew” (Rom. 11: 2).

They are mentioned in the “New Testament,” however. Christ said, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the House of Israel” (Matt. 15: 24, NIV, ESV, RSV). He spoke no idle words. The lost tribes of Israel are extremely important to Christ, and consequently, to the Father. And the apostle James addresses his book “to the twelve tribes scattered abroad, greeting” (1:1). That has to be the descendants of the Kingdom of Israel (ten tribes) or to the whole House of Israel (12 tribes). James, who had the same mind of Christ, cleared that up by writing to the 12 tribes that were already scattered all over the world. Also, the apostle Paul said that as of A.D. 62, the twelve tribes were not only in the earth, but were “instantly serving God day and night” in hope of the promise of the resurrection of Christ (Acts 26: 6-7).

Kingdom of Judah Carried Away

That same fate that happened unto the northern Kingdom of Israel (10 Tribes) happened to the southern Kingdom of Judah around 603 B. C. by the Babylonians. Citizens of this two-tribed kingdom, by now called “Jews,” were carried away captive, but they did not lose their identity. The original Hebrew religion instituted by Moses had by now changed into the beginning of the modern religion of Judaism, which, according to the Savior Yahshua, was hypocritical, evil, and was not pleasing to God (John 8:44). By 29 A.D. many Edomites (Idumaens) had converted to the Mosaic religion and had changed it into something altogether repulsive to Christ. In fact, He told them, “You are of your father the devil.” Judaism had become now the religion of the “serpents” and “vipers,” the Pharisees and Sadducees, who are the progenitors of the modern Jewish religion today. This is the “synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie,” spoken of by Jesus/Yahshua Himself (Rev. 3: 9). 85% of modern Jewry are not from the loins of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Arthur Koestler, The Thirteenth Tribe).

Because the Israelites (10 tribes) were lost to history, people now think that the only Israelites left are Jews. But the true Jews made up only two tribes out of the original twelve. That leaves the vast majority of the “lost sheep of the House of Israel” out here in the world, their identity lost, waiting for God to reveal it to them. For these of the lost ten tribes do figure prominently in prophecy for these latter days. 144,000 of them are detailed specifically in Revelation 7 and 14. 12, 000 from each tribe are mentioned by name. “Of the tribe of Judah were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad…” and on through Benjamin “were sealed twelve thousand,” to a total of 144,000. So a remnant of the lost tribes will be revealed in these latter days in order to fulfill these scriptures.

The 144,000 from the Lost Tribes of Israel

These have a very precious and wonderful calling, for they will be sealed by God as His servants before His throne (7: 3, 15). They will have “their Father’s name [Yahweh] written in their foreheads” (14: 1). They were “redeemed from among men,” meaning that they are not super heavenly entities, but came from the loins of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. They were washed in the Lamb’s blood like every other Christian, but they have grown to full spiritual maturity and are the “firstfruits unto God” (v. 4). They are “without fault before the throne of God” (v. 5). Without fault! Perfectly mature manifested sons of the living God!

And they come out of the twelve tribes of Israel. That may not be politically correct to say, but that is what Revelation 7 says. This is the reason that it is extremely important for us to study the prophecies concerning the “lost sheep of the House of Israel” out. Christ said that He was sent to them! It was important to Him. Is it important to us?

Some doubters will say that the 12 tribes are lost, and “What difference does it really make anyway?” Well, it would not make any difference if the future of His chosen people did not matter to Him. God says that His manifested sons will come out of these twelve tribes, and it does matter to Him. He said, “My ways are not your ways; my thoughts are not your thoughts.”

We are told to seek the mind of God. Know His thoughts. What is He thinking about? Is He still thinking about His people, the lost sheep of the House of Israel? Yes. “Has God cast away His people? God forbid…The gifts and calling of God are without repentance” (Romans 11:1, 29). Yahweh called them and a remnant of them will come back to Him in these latter days. The question for us is this: Are we one of them? Will we be one of the “firstfruits of God” who are very close to the Lamb and do the greater works that He promised some would do?

“What’s It All About–Algae?”–Energy and the “Power of Darkness”

I’ve been seriously thinking about the energy problem, but the President’s got me singing that song (with apologies to Bacharach/David). He really does.

We’ve got crippling gasoline prices, but algae? Really? Is that what it’s really all about. Hey, Mr. President. We need relief now–not ten to twenty years from now.

The President’s reluctance to open up federal lands and offshore waters for oil drilling confounds me. Many experts say that it would quiet the speculators and show the world we mean business in getting hold of our energy crisis. It would bring down crude prices much faster than all the alternative energy sources combined.

“Is it just for the moment we live?” Not drilling–is it just to appease your base, Mr. President, for this moment of re-election? Or should it be a government “of the people, by the people, and FOR THE PEOPLE” and their well-being? Because people are hurting.

I mean–don’t make me go out and buy a Suzuki 250 to ride to work on. Or worse yet, a Chinese 150cc scooter–although 83 miles per gallon is very enticing.

“What’s it all about when you sort it out, Mr. President? Wait a minute. That really is the question that needs answering. What is it all about, anyway–concerning this big picture stuggle I find myself in? For I am wrestling in my mind with members of both political parties over the future of our world.

And then a “wrestling” scripture comes to mind, and I am grateful for a word of truthful sanity because what both sides are saying just does not make any sense whatsoever. For we are not wrestling “against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Eph. 6: 12 NLT).

Wow. You want to whip out a can of political incorrectness? Here is a taste. Our political and economic leaders are being led by “rulers of the darkness of this world,” as it says in the KJV. The apostle Paul called those entities that motivated political leaders “the rulers of the darkness of this world.”

But Paul is not talking about the physical men in political power. He is talking about the spirit in them that works through them. He calls these spiritual powers “the wiles of the devil,” reflected in the earthly face of our world leaders (v. 11).

Some would say that Paul the apostle was too harsh. But he was just following his example, Jesus Christ (Yahshua the Messiah). For He said the same thing.

An example of this spiritual power of Satan working through the leaders of this world system is in the gospel of Luke. The “chief priests and captains of the temple, and the elders” came out to arrest Jesus/Yahshua, and then they took Him to “the high priest’s house.” And these same quasi-political leaders “mocked Him, and blindfolded Him,” struck Him, and then demanded of Him, “Prophesy, who is it that smote you?”

Remember. These are the leaders of the people. Christ said that what they were doing to Him is “the power of darkness” (22: 52-53). Paul in the KJV said that our struggle is not against human beings but against spiritual “powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.” Their statements are almost identical–truth established in the mouth of two witnesses.

So, what’s it all about? Certainly not algae, although algae, like an evil spirit, does fly under the radar most of the time. It is about the spirit of the Wicked One working through world rulers to hinder the people and harm their immediate pocketbooks, and that same spirit working to thwart the Kingdom of God by establishing their one world government. That is what it is all about. KWH

Don’t Depend on the Rapture–All Christians Going through Great Tribulation

We saw last time that The Great Tribulation Period is the “Day of the LORD,” spoken of by many of the prophets in scripture. We referenced a few of them who wrote about this disastrous time on the earth–Daniel, Zephaniah, the apostle John, to name just a few.

Many who read about all this destruction will say, What difference does it make? It doesn’t pertain to us. We Christians will be raptured out before the Tribulation starts anyway.

Many will not take this time of wrath to heart because they do not believe that it applies to them. They believe in a rapture/reward for being good little children of God. They do not believe that God could be that “cruel” to them and their families–to treat them just like the ungodly in that He would make them go through the end time calamities. God speaks about these foolish “followers” of Christ.

The Parable of the Five Wise and the Five Foolish Virgins

Christ was asked by His disciples what the sign would be for three things: the total destruction of Jerusalem where one stone would not be found on another, the sign of His return to earth, and the end of the world (Matt. 24: 1). He answers these three questions in the next two chapters. Everything in Matthew 24 and 25 is in answer to these three questions concerning “the end of the world.” And this also reveals that some lukewarm Christians will be around during the tribulation.

Christ uses two parables to convey the secret answers to the mysteries of when the end will come. In the parable of the ten virgins (Matt. 25: 1-13), five were wise and took oil in their lamps and had eyes to see, but five were foolish and had no oil for their lamps. They were virgins; they were little children of God, but they were lacking in the Spirit of God, the oil, within themselves. They had not studied and prayed and were told by the wise virgins to go buy their own oil from the same place where one may “buy the gold tried in the fire…and the white raiment…and the eye salve” (Rev. 3: 18). It was too late to pray and study for those little children, the five foolish virgins. For the bridegroom came while they were out and they missed the wrap up, the great marriage supper. And they cried to Him to open the door, but He told them, “I don’t know you” for this honor.

The Parable of the Five Talents

Another example of spiritual unproductivity is this parable in the very next verse (Matt. 25: 14-30). Three servants were given talents by their master, “according to his own ability”–five to one servant, two to another, and one to another. They all three were servants of the same master. Those with five and two gained the same and were praised upon the master’s return as “good and faithful servants.” The other servant was “afraid and …hid it in the earth.” “You wicked and slothful servant,” said his master. “Cast the unprofitable servant into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then the master took the talent from him and gave it to the one with ten talents.

What went wrong with the unprofitable servant? He had no faith; he was disobedient and did not gain anything for his master with His goods. Of course, this parable reveals a mystery “kept secret from the foundations of the world.” The spiritual application shows us three levels of fruit production as in the Parable of Sower in Matt. 13–30, 60, and 100 fold. Christ has told all of His followers to study, pray, prove all things, and carry the good news of His kingdom into all the world. He has told us all to dig deep and build our house upon the rock, and call out others to this great kingdom soon to fill the whole earth.

Laodecean Church Age–The Condition of the Church at Christ’s Return

But do most children of God do this, really? I don’t think so. In this last church age of Laodecea (laity deceived) painted for us in Rev. 3: 16-17, we see that today’s average church goer is lukewarm in the spiritual works of God and is about to be “spued out of His mouth.” Why? Because they say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing.’ And they do not know that they are “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” Pride in one’s denomination [‘our church is a Bible church, rich in the word of God], a particular church father, one’s pastor, priest, saint, pride period–all these lead one to say, ‘I am rich [in faith] and have need of nothing.’ Many denominations actually say that they are the only ones who have the truth.

In their heart they will say, Hey, we’ve got the rapture. God will take care of us. He wants us to prosper, to be materially well off while we are waiting for His return. He’ll take us out of the hellishness of the tribulation period. We don’t need these doctrines (teachings). Mom and dad didn’t believe this new stuff. Besides, all we need is Jesus. And they go one as sheep to the slaughter never realizing that “whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God” (2 John 1: 9).

And they will go on their shallow ways, having never proven the “rapture theory” from the scriptures–having never seen that they base it on 1/2 of one verse, never even quoting the other half of the verse: “and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” They never realize that Christ is coming back HERE–not ‘up in heaven somewhere”! In our new spiritual bodies, we will rise up into the “air” [look it up in the Greek and see that it is where the birds fly] but we won’t get too far, for He’s descending to earth, touching His feet on the Mt. Olivet, cleaving it, and we will be with Him in that wonderful moment! “And so shall we ever be with the Lord!” [I Thess. 4: 16-17].

And so I have to ask the rapture believers: Since Christ is coming back bodily to earth at the time of the “catching away,” who will you be with when your imagination carries you away? Most have never considered what the scriptures really say in this one verse that they use to base the rapture on.

The Bridegroom comes here! If this rapture illusion is not straightened out in a person’s heart and mind, if they are counting on something erroneous that is not happening, do you think He may cast them “into outer darkness where “there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth”?

And why will all of this misery land on so many people? It is because of their unbelief. Christ said it with a broken heart as He looked on the people of His pasture. “O ye of little faith.”

Unbelief–Just Like with Moses and the Children of Israel

But there’s nothing new here. The children of Israel just would not believe the word of Yahweh. “So we see that they could not enter in [to the Promised Land] because of unbelief.”

So, whose voice were the children of Israel listening to? They listened to Aaron, a voice from a false god, who led in the worship of the golden calf while Moses was up on Mt. Sinai. They murmured and complained and said, God would not put all this deprivation and sacrifice on us. We are God’s people. Out of 2-3 million people, only two, Joshua and Caleb, made it into the Promised Land. And what happened to all of those millions of unbelievers? Their “carcases fell” in the desert outside of Canaan land. They had a false conception about how that era would end. And they paid the price. They died never glimpsing God’s glory. And the things that happened to the children of Israel “are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come” [3].

The consequences of their unbelief admonishes those living at the “end of the world”! That’s us. And we should take the warning to heart. To be one of the few to get into the promised land of His presence when He returns, we must throw away “every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God” [4].

The little children of God are mostly alive for what they can get from the Father. That’s why they are children and not spiritual adults in the Lord. They have consequently believed that the Father will miraculously deliver them in a supernatural “rapture” before tribulation breaks out.

The rapture is based on wishful thinking. It is an imagination and a lie that will not only disillusion millions of professing Christians, it will also alienate them from God. When they are not “raptured out” before the tribulation, many will turn against God and will be part of those who “gnawed their tongues for pain, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores” (Rev. 16: 10-11). They will blame God for the wrath that He is wreaking, and not the liars that told them they would escape all of the bad things.

But even as just two people, Joshua and Caleb, entered the Promised Land, even so very few will denounce the rapture theory, one of the most addictive sugar stick false doctrines out there. Most will not believe. Consequently, they will not prepare, both physically and spiritually, for the tribulation period. And the sad part is, they are the ones who will be most disillusioned and upset at God. Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Great Tribulation Period Is “The Day of the LORD”

Many Christians are longing for the Day of the LORD to come, but few, it seems, know exactly what that day entails.

Many long for it to come thinking that the “rapture” will take them out of the end time troubles to come, seeing the day of the LORD as an escape hatch for God’s children. But the rapture theory is just that–a theory, an erroneous imagination that is disproved upon closer inspection and study of the word of God [for more on this, see https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/?s=parachute ].

Others see “the day of the LORD” as a metaphor for “going to heaven, or going to be with Christ.

But few realize what they are wishing on themselves and this world. Why? Because of the utter destruction that the Day of the LORD will bring on this earth. It is a time of God’s wrath, not mercy. It is not an apple pie in the sky event. It is a time of utter calamity and devastation.

Many prophets spoke of this day of the LORD. It is a day of vengeance taken by God on the evil Satanic system and those who have given their hearts to it. It is when He takes revenge, not us. Remember when we were taught from the Bible not to hold grudges and be vengeful? “Vengeance is mine, saith the LORD, I will repay.”

And so shall it be during the wrap up of this present age. God will be dealing directly with wickedness, as only He can. His body, His church will not be taking vengeance on anyone. Christ in His first advent was the Lamb; He’ll be a devouring Lion in His second. The “day of the LORD” is not a gloriously bright sunshiny day. It is a time of gloom and despair and darkness, much like the day the death angel passed through Egypt. It will be a day of mourning as that day during the original Passover–a day of wailing and crying aloud in the streets, a day of heart-rending loss of loved ones and cherished belongings.

So, no. This day is not something to wish for. Although it has to come on the earth before Christ establishes His kingdom, we would not wish this misery on anyone.

Spoken about by many prophets

We are talking about one of the most important events in the history of the world. It is the end of an age; it is a cosmic event of universal proportions. Most of the prophets spoke of this event–this day of the LORD. Think about it. What greater prophecy could they have uttered and written down for us than the end of the evil empire of Satan and his human cohorts?

The prophet Daniel and the “Stone Kingdom”

It is what the prophet Daniel was shown in so many passages. “In the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed…” (Dan. 2: 44). Christ’s Kingdom is coming to earth, but before it makes its full arrival, the smashing of Nebuchadnezzar’s image with the stone kingdom not cut out by man’s hands must first take place. “The Day of the LORD” is that time in history when man’s world system is coming down! I’m not going to bring it down; my Christian brethren are not going to smash it; God is, I believe, with a literal “stone” [read “heavenly body”] from heaven. Call it a large meteorite, a comet, an asteroid, a hailstone, a star–the name is immaterial what man calls it. The point is that there are innumerable examples in the Bible citing heavenly bodies falling into earth [that is another topic which space does not permit here].

So many prophets speak of this dark day for the inhabitants of the earth and the lovers of this world.

The prophet Zephaniah’s vision of the ‘day of the LORD’

For example, the entire book of Zephaniah is about this very “day of the LORD.” The LORD [Yahweh in the Hebrew] is railing and warning through Zephaniah about how He “will utterly consume all things from off the land” (1: 2). Those “things” include fowls, fishes, stumbling blocks (idols) with the wicked, and finally, man (v. 3). Then He tells which men: those worshipping other gods. He says, “The day of Yahweh is at hand” (v. 7).

Who exactly are these people who are about to be destroyed by God? They are people who actually “swear by the LORD.” They invoke His name, and yet, they “have not sought…nor inquired for Him” (1: 5-6). Ironically, these are professing Christians.

Consequently, Yahweh at this time “has prepared a sacrifice.” 2,000 years ago, it was the Lamb of God sacrificed through God’s great grace and mercy. This time the tables are turned. The evil doers this time will be sacrificed. This will be through “acts of God,” not his elect. For He “will punish the princes [those in power] and the king’s children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel” [not dressed in white, the symbolic clothing of the righteous] (1: 7-8).

Zephanaiah’s description of the day the world system collapses

“The great day of the LORD is near…The mighty man shall cry there bitterly. That day is day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day clouds and thick darkness..and I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung” (1: 14-17).

This is the time that God will execute wrath upon the world. Compare this passage with Joel 2 and Revelation 16 when the “vials of wrath” are poured out on the earth. Same time in history. Same day of the LORD. Kenneth Wayne Hancock [To be continued]

Speak the WORD

The world system has conditioned us Christians to not talk about God. I remember when I taught public school, the teachers rarely spoke of God, and that was in a conservative small school in the middle of the Biblebelt! Maybe once or twice in fifteen years did I hear a fellow teacher openly talk of Christ. The secular setting had done its browbeating.

But I was fortunate, for I taught English and American Literature all those years. The writers in our culture spoke and wrote about God and the Bible until the 20th Century began . Scriptural allusions and metaphors ran constantly through Shakespeare, Milton, Chaucer, our Puritan writers. Even our Founding Fathers spoke and wrote openly of the Supreme Being, mixing freely religious and political ideas.

So I was able to talk about God in the secular classroom all the time using the literature books that they provided me. But Satan has done a thorough job in squelching God’s voice coming through His children. We have almost quenched the Spirit in our reluctance to speak.

But Christ and His early apostles did not play that game.

They had a very important job to do, and they were not about to let another spirit dominate them and what they had to do–which was to lay the foundation for the building of the LORD’s temple (us). It was also, to use another of His metaphors, to let the early rain of His Spirit fall freely on the thirsty gr0und, the hearts of men. And this was the former rain; now is the time for the latter rain, His Spirit now falling in our era.

So, Jesus (Yahshua) and His apostles labored mightily. They spoke the Word, the Logos, which is the eternal purpose and plan of God. And they wrote His vision for this earth down for us to be able to study and prepare ourselves for the end times.

Now we, the sons and daughters of the latter rain must follow our example–Christ. “For herein He has left us an example that we should follow His steps, who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth” (I Pet 2: 21-22). We are to follow our Example.

We are to be like Him. “For we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him…” (I John 3: 2). Don’t let any gainsayer try to tell you differently–not your mom or dad, brother or sister, wife or husband, best friend or feared enemy. We should be like Christ, and with His Spirit within us, we can and will be like Him. In fact we are to live “godly in this present world”! (Titus 2: 12).

This is our hope–and His hope. This is our vision–and His vision. This is our destiny–and His destiny for us (1).

There–I’ve said it. Now that the cat’s out of the bag, we are free to speak this vision of manifested sonship throughout the entire planet earth–wherever you are.

Speak the word. Speak the truth. For when you speak this truth, you are speaking the WORD. You are speaking Him, for He is the WORD, and the WORD is thereby becoming flesh one more time–in you and in me and now through us! Speak the Word. KWH

Why Christ CANNOT Come Back Tonight–And Who Is the Anti-Christ?

“You better get ready! Christ could come back tonight!” shouts thousands of preachers every Sunday. “Be ready for the rapture, that wonderful day when we all float serenely up through the clouds to heaven,” they say. But they are parrots in pulpits who mimic words that they have heard someone else say, never having proved it out according to the word of God. Christ is not coming back tonight, no matter how much they preach about it.

That’s right. The Savior, known to the English speaking world as Jesus Christ, cannot come back tonight. Why not? Because He will not go back on His word. He said that several things must take place before He returns, and He will not break His own word.

Which Word?

The key is found in II Thessalonians. Paul is commending the Thessalonians for their “patience and faith” in the face of the “persecutions and tribulations” that they are enduring at present. This patient endurance in the face of persecution makes them worthy of the kingdom of God, which is a “righteous judgement of God,” just like it is a righteous judgement of God “to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you” (1: 4-6).

The government of God is coming when Christ returns, and it is the stone kingdom that will smash and pulverize all of man’s governments, like the very Roman government at that time in A.D. 54 that is persecuting the Thessalonians (1). This kingdom, coming down out of heaven, will bring with it “tribulation to them that trouble” these Thessalonians. “Tribulation” here is the same Greek word used in Revelation concerning the tribulation period to engulf the world system.

Paul goes on to say in verse 7 that God will grant His followers whose earthly bodies expire a rest. This rest will continue until the Master “shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ/Yahshua the Messiah” (1: 7-8).

A permanent destruction will come upon them, and this destruction will come from the very presence of the Savior and the glory that surrounds Him–right here on earth at His return (1: 9).

So we are talking about Christ’s return to this earth–a physical return, a smashing return, a vengeful return, a return to “recompense tribulation to them that trouble” us. Then Paul gives us the key to when Christ will come to do all of this.

Don’t be “soon shaken in mind, or be troubled…as that the day of Christ is at hand” (2: 2). They had heard from some men teaching that Christ was coming soon. But Paul tells them, “Let no man deceive you by any means” (2: 3). You mean, Paul, that there will be men preaching that Christ could come right now? And that they will deceive you?

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day [Christ’s return to earth] shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sits in the temple of God showing himself that he is God” (2: 3-4).

There is the key. Before Christ comes back for His elect children and returns to deal vengeance to the unbelievers, the anti-christ, the man of sin, will be revealed.

Christ can’t come back tonight because we don’t know who this man is.

So just who is this man of sin? That is the question we should be asking ourselves as followers of Christ and people who long for His return. How will we know him? What signs will give him away as to his identity? Since he will have to be revealed before Christ can return, we should be asking these questions and not listening to the siren song of rapture theorists.

First, he will oppose “all that is called God.” He will “exalt himself” above God. He will not just do this in word, but he will literally “sit in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God” (2: 4).

Wait a minute. Temple? The anti-christ will sit in the temple of God before Christ comes back? Yes. There will be a man who will sit in the rebuilt temple of God palming himself off as God himself!

Christ speaks of this very scene in Matt. 24: 15. “When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, “great tribulation shall break out (v. 21)–far worse than any trouble has ever happened on this earth.

What is this “abomination of desolation”? When a man stands in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem and claims to be God.

So we first need the temple to be rebuilt in Jerusalem before the man of sin can stand in it. The temple rebuilt and the man of sin revealed.

These are the signs of Christ’s coming back to earth. But Satan will have his way with the “multitudes in the valley of decision.” The masses will “wonder after the beast.” The “coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders…” And the people will perish “because they refused to love the truth” (II Thes 2: 9-11). “And for this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie.”

And there you have it. Let us all beware of false teachings that will lead us astray from the truth. The end of the age is upon us, but most will be deceived and miss the most important sea change in the history of this world! Let us “prove all things,” both things we believe to be the truth and things we’ve been led to believe is a lie. Let us study. Let us dig deep and build our house on the Rock and on the stedfastness of His word. Kenneth Wayne Hancock

The Manifestation of the Sons of God–Christ Outlines the Way in John 14-17 in “Conversations with the Seer”

“What have you been studying?” the Seer asked me when I came into the meeting room.

“I’ve been reading in John 14 and 15.”

“Are you understanding what you’re reading?” he asked.

“Some parts I do. But there is so much to it.”

“Yes. Chapters fourteen through seventeen are the Master’s last instruction to His disciples, and they, of course, are extremely important. You noticed that He withheld this teaching until Satan in Judas Iscariot left them after the Last Supper in chapter thirteen.”

“Yes, that is right.”

“What Christ had to say was to those faithful ones; He would not cast His pearls before swine. Although there are things in His words for all of His followers, this last discourse is not for babes in Christ. It is actually a putting together of all the puzzle pieces that, once completed, shows us a picture of how the sons of God will be manifested.”

“I’ve heard you speak many times of the manifested sons of God coming on the scene,” I said.

“Christians must begin to realize that God’s plan and purpose entails a much grander vision of what will take place on this earth than what is being taught in most every church in the world.”

“What is the grander vision?”

“The whole creation doesn’t realize it, but it is “groaning and travailing,” waiting for the “manifestation of the sons of God.” [Rom. 8: 22]. This is when upon Christ’s return He changes us. It is when we receive our new bodies. These old decaying earthly shells will be swallowed up by our new spiritual bodies, bodies that will live on eternally. This is what mankind has dreamed about, what every culture’s philosophers have written about. This is the fountain of youth that will quench every person’s inate thirst to live forever. This is it! Christ is expounding the key points on the way to this grand event.”

“You are talking about immortality.”

“Yes. It is the deep longing of mankind. And there is a way, and that way has been mapped out in Christ. He not only has the answers, but He is the answer, for He in His glorified form now contains the Eternal Spirit that we call God–the Creator.”

“So what prevents everyone from seeing this vision of how to obtain eternal life or immortality?” I asked.

“This vision of immortality for mankind is like a jigsaw puzzle. Many pieces to this true picture of God’s plan lay scattered about the table of man’s knowledge. But there are many other pieces to other puzzles scattered in among God’s pieces. Other visions of what is the truth, false visions, false puzzle pieces, litter the landscape. They sometimes have the same color and appear to be like the true pieces to God’s puzzle, and they deceive the people. “For many false prophets and teachers” have run to and fro on the earth deceiving themselves and others with their half baked false conceptions of Christ’s plan and purpose.”

“I know. They sound so convincing.”

“Yes, because they take a snippet of scripture and build whole doctrines out of passages taken out of context. But the fact is that the truth is out here to be found, but we must seek diligently for it. He said, Seek and ye shall find. Find what? Find the truth. We must winnow the wheat from the chaff of false teachings.”

“How does this fit in with the manifested sons?” I asked.

“The concept of the manifested sons of God can’t be clearly seen until one’s eyes are open to the Parable of the Sower. This parable shows us God’s great secret in how His Spirit grows in us His children. Especially how His Spirit will yield in us a certain amount of spiritual fruit.”

“What do you mean? We are all Christians, children of God–those of us who have been born again,” I said.

“Of course. But there are spiritual differences in the body of Christ. It’s just like in a literal field of corn there will be some of the seeds yield more ears and grains on those ears than another for whatever reason–more water or fertilizer or just richer soil. Or maybe the weeds choke some plants and not others. The fact remains that like corn in the natural world, we, too, in the spiritual world bear the fruit of the Spirit at different levels. As He said in the parable, some will bring forth ‘some thirty fold, some sixty fold, and some one hundred fold.”

“What does that mean in a practical everyday sense?” I asked.

“It means that there will be some Christians who will be more Christ-like than others after their growth here on earth is completed. There were many Christians in the New Testament days, but after the resurrection, there were not many like Peter, James, John, and Paul. These one hundred fold followers of Christ did great works, just like Christ! And so can we, if we are to be one of those one hundred folders.”

“I can hear them saying now, ‘Nobody can be like Christ!”

The Seer smiled knowingly. “Yes, they will say that–their doubt-filled minds gushing forth their negative thoughts. But to them I will say, If you won’t let me be like Christ, is it all right if I be like Peter and Paul? They raised the dead and healed the sick–just like Christ! That’s close enough.”

“Hold it. I can see that what prevents some from being hundred folders is doubt and unbelief.”

“Precisely. And why do you think that they have such doubt and unbelief?”

I thought a moment. “Because it disagrees with what they have been taught?”

“Exactly. Those who will not and cannot grow up into the fullness of Christ as a hundred fold fruit bearing Christian are those who have been fed lies and misconceptions, which have stunted their growth. So much so that they cannot come to a place where agape love helps them to ‘believe all things.’ In other words, it takes truth nurturing them to a point to where they can believe the vision God has for us–to be just like His Son.”

“What can be done to help them believe more?”

“All we can do is walk on in this truth, sow the seed, the word of God, and let God be God. He is the great Architect. He is building His spiritual house, which is us. Those whose destiny is to become a manifested son of God, He will bring into His fold. He is faithful and true and quite capable of bringing His sons unto glory.”

“Some people will say that God is not fair–to have some followers remain children and some be like Peter and Paul.”

“What can I say to the gainsayers? They did not create the world according to a specific plan and purpose. ‘Let God be true and every man a liar’ who does not agree with Him. No. God is right. It is a grave responsibility to be a manifestd son during these end times. A lot will be required of them, and not everyone has the physical and spiritual strength to make ‘this calling and election sure.’”

“I want to be one of them. That is why I moved out here.”

“It is a worthwhile goal in this life–to aspire to the ‘high calling of God in Christ.’ But it is a paradox, for although we must study and pray to make ‘our calling and election sure,’ God chooses whomsoever He will for this honor. No man takes this honor unto himself. It is only by His grace that we can run this race.”

“I see what you mean,” I said.

“So, knowing about the manifested sons is the first of the puzzle pieces that we need in order to become one of them. We have to have knowledge about something first before we can ever hope to obtain it. Christ in John 14-17 elucidates several more puzzle pieces that we need. He lines them out as a kind of stepping stone path to glorification.”

“What’s the next piece to the puzzle?” I asked eagerly.

“I’ll share more with you a bit later,” the Seer said turning to greet the others coming in the door.

The next morning I came early to the morning men’s meeting. We would all meet every morning at the small hall we had built with the salvaged lumber we had taken from old buildings and houses. The Seer was sitting next to the old box wood heater. I could not wait. I sat down and asked, “What is the next piece to the puzzle?”

“Once a person learns and then believes that there is growth in God that matures into the same level of spirituality as Peter, James, John, and Paul–and yes, like the Savior Himself–then they are ready to actually begin to walk on unto perfection, or complete spiritual maturity. As Paul exhorts us all, ‘Let us go on unto perfection’” (Heb. 6: 1).

“But what does spiritual maturity mean?”

“A few are destined to reach this maturity, this perfection in Christ. Actually it has to do with Christ being “formed in you” (Gal. 4: 19). His Spirit comes down into us by faith in His resurrection in us. We receive a new heart from Him. Then by receiving pure seed and watering it with His word, we grow from children into the fully matured sons and daughters of God.”

“But, perfection?”

“Yes. Have you not read where Christ commands his followers, Be ye perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect? Anyway, if someone has enough faith to get this far, then they may begin to receive the next big teaching found in John 14-17.”

“What is it?” I asked.

“It is to believe in the oneness of God.”

“Everybody believes that there is one God.”

“They may say they do, but when pressed to the wall they believe there are two or three of them sitting up there in heaven on different thrones. Even staunch trinitarians, although they say “three in one,” when pinned down, they ‘see’ a Father figure and a ‘Son’ figure up there in heaven sitting on their respective thrones.”

“In order to be one of His elect manifested sons of God, to be just like Christ in these latter days, one must get the correct concept of the Godhead. It is here in John 14, that Christ sets the record straight. He flat out commands all manifested sons-to-be, saying this: “Believe Me. Believe Me that the Father is in Me (John 14: 10).”

“Is that it? Just believe Him?” I asked.

“Yes, it is really very simple, and yet, man’s inate unbelief hardens his heart where His word, like a tiny seed, cannot get down into it and grow. We all start out in early childhood with soft and tender hearts, eager to believe what we are told. We are vulnerable and trusting and are able to believe the truths about God readily. This is why Christ told us to ‘become as little children’ or we will not be able to “enter the kingdom of heaven’ (Matt. 18: 3). Unfortunately, this world system is cruel and the little children become disappointed and disillusioned with life and soon their hearts grow cynical, for they become convinced that no one is sincere.”

“But God gives us another chance, doesn’t He?”

“Yes, He does. Through His mercy, we can become His spiritual children, and we can soften our hearts and receive his truth and grow in Him. And so we are told by Christ, ‘Believe Me that the Father is in Me.'”

“We just need to trust Him, don’t we?” I asked.

“We need to trust His word when He says that the Father is in Him. How can that be? It is because the Father is an invisible Spirit (I Tim. 1: 17). And Christ is the ‘image of the invisible God.’ In other words, the invisible Spirit, who is the Father, dwelt in the Son, who is visible, who always said that the works that He did were really done by the Father inside of Him (John 14: 10). Christ said that the miracles He performed were proof that the Father dwelt inside of Him.”

“But I haven’t seen any of those kind of miracles,” I said.

“When was the last time you looked into the mirror? You are one of the miracles the Father has performed through His Son. You came here hopelessly addicted to drugs, and now the mouth that cursed every other breath speaks sweet words. He has made a most miraculous change in your life. You are your own greatest witness that the Father raised up Christ from the dead, and in so doing through faith, you, too, are raised up to walk in a newness of life'” (Romans 6: 4).

“I cannot deny it. I have a new life! That is a miracle!”

“Yes. Your new life in Him is proof that the Father lives in Christ and did perform the miracle on you. Indeed. The oneness of God is extremely important. Without our belief in this concept, we cannot grow into full maturity, which is His desire for us. Christ commands us, ‘Believe Me that the Father is in Me.’ When we do this then we realize that the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily in Christ (Col. 2: 9).,

“Why is believing that the invisible Father was inside the Son of God so important?” I asked.

“This is a very good question that leads us to the very next statement Christ made in John 14. In verse 11, He said, ‘Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the very works’ sake.’ In other words, These miracles that I am performing prove that the Father God is in Me, for only He can raise the dead and heal the sick. Then after we believe Him that the Father is in Him, He says in v. 12: ‘He that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do also.'”

“You mean the miracles He did we can do, too?”

“Yes. Those who really believe that the Father is in Christ–the ones who really get it–they are the ones who can go on unto perfection, or full spiritual maturity, which entails raising the dead and healing the sick–the very things He did. Christ goes on to say that they will do ‘greater works’ than what He did. These will be the 100 fold fruit bearing manifested sons of God.”

“Wait a minute,” I said. “How can they do anything greater than raising the dead?”

“Because they will number in the thousands, doing miracles all over the earth in His name” [Revelation 14].

“How can this be?” I asked.

“You see, Christ was the Seed-Son, who fell into the ground and died, and during the time of the end, He will reap the harvest from that one Seed. A harvest of many thousands of manifested sons of God will grow up to be just like Him” [John 12: 24].

“Wow. That is some calling. I doesn’t seem possible.”

“With men it is impossible, but with God’s direction and grace, it is possible” [Mark 10: 27]. That is what He said. We again just need to believe it. That is what the walk of faith is all about. Believing having not yet seen. We believe His word first, then the works, the miracles, will come. Starting first with the miracle of our own new life in Him.”

That evening after work, I went to the Seer’s cabin. He invited me in and made some hot tea for us. We sat down around the fire, and with little small talk, I asked, “Could you go over some of the things we were talking about yesterday concerning the manifested sons?”

“Sure,” the Seer said, the question obviously energizing him. “The Savior lines out the path to sonship in His last major teaching in John 14-17. First, a future manifested son must know and believe that there is such a thing in God’s plan as sonship. And to fully comprehend this, one has to know and believe the secret of the growth of the Spirit in us as lined out in the Parable of the Sower, the parable that actually opens up our understanding of all the parables. They will then realize that there must be a harvest of the firstfruits before the big harvest can take place. Many preachers will speak of a ‘harvest of souls,’ but they rarely mention the manifested sons of God being the first into perfection in our day. The ‘last shall be first,’ Christ said. The last of G0d’s sons will be the first harvested in this end time generation.” The Seer stopped a moment, and then looked at me and asked, “Are you seeing all this?”

“Yes, I am getting it.”

“You see, the parables, after all, are the ‘dark sayings’ that God has hidden His secrets in for millenia and that they are spoken deliberately to prevent some from knowing His secrets. This Parable of the Sower shows us that there are different levels of spiritual growth–the ultimate, of course, being the manifested sons of God.

“Second, because the Son of God is the Seed, we cannot have His likeness harvested in us without believing in Him and His words to us. He reassures us that He is preparing a place for us and that He through His Spirit will come to us and help us to get through the long, lonely days of our spiritual sojourn here on earth [John 14: 1-3]. He tells us that He, Christ, is the way, the truth, and the life. And He is the only way to come to the Father’ [v. 6].

I asked, “Why do so many people say that there are many ways to get to God? You’ll hear them say that Allah and Vishnu and others are all just different names of the same Supreme Being and that there are many ways to get there.”

“No. Don’t believe them. They do not know God at all. Christ is the way to the Father for one very simple reason. The Father is in Him. The Father was in Him then some 2,000 years ago, and the Father is still in Him, for He lives forever and is alive now making intercession for us to God, who dwells within Christ.”

“The Father is in Him,” I repeated, for my mind was straining to grasp these concepts.

The Seer looked at me and smiled. “Pretty intense, huh?

“Yes,” I said.

“And that brings us to the third major point of Christ’s teaching in John 14-17. He told them that they had already known and seen the Father. And they questioned that and said, Show us the Father. And Christ said to them, He that has seen Me has seen the Father. It is the Father in Me that does all these miracles. And then He commands them: Believe Me that the Father is in Me” [v. 9-11].

“This is where the oneness doctrine takes shape,” I said.

“Yes. He gives us a new commandment here to believe that the invisible Father Spirit is inside Him. And then, in His very next breath, He gives us the fourth major point that builds upon the previous three that I have just outlined. ‘He that believes on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works that these shall he do.’ In other words, those that believe that the Father was in the Son doing the miracles will someday do those same miracles and even greater miracles than Christ did!” [v. 12].

“That’s exciting, but how do we get from here to there?”

The Seer rephrased my question. “How do we begin to get the power to work miracles and thus do the ‘greater works’? Excellent question. And I will give you a profoundly simple answer. We have to ask Him for the power.”

“Just like that? Just ask Him for it?”

“Of course there is a bit more to it than that. In the very next breath after He promises that we will do the greater works, He says, ‘Whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son'” [v. 12-13].

“I’ve heard that verse quoted in Sunday School and sermons many times.”

“Yes, people run with it, taking it out of context. But let’s look at it closely. In verse twelve He promises that we will do greater miracles than what He had done. And in the very next verse, He says that He will do whatever we ask in His name. ‘Do’ is the very same word. The point is that He will do the greater works in and through us. It won’t be us doing the miracles; He will be doing them. His Spirit in us will be doing them. Our part is to surrender our hearts, souls and minds to God so that He may come down into us and perform the miracles by His Spirit in us. Us asking in His name, first, humbles us, for we acknowledge thereby that we of our own power cannot do the miracles. We will realize when we are in this growth that we are a part of the body of Christ, part of the Son, which fulfills the last part of John 14: 13: ‘That the Father may be glorified in the Son.’ But the point is, we have to ask Him to do the greater works through us. And this won’t happen if we just ask Him any old way. Father, can I do a miracle today? No. We must ask in His name.”

People do that all the time. ‘And we ask all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.’ Millions of prayers go up like this every day. People are doing this already,” I said.

“Wait a minute. Not so fast. People are saying these words as a formula without the deeper knowledge.”

“What deeper knowledge are you talking about?” I asked.

“Consider these two points. What is being asked for and what name is being asked in. And this brings us to the fifth piece to the puzzle–asking in the Savior’s name for the greater works to be done through us,” said the Seer.

Asking in the Savior’s Name–His Hebrew Name: The Fifth Piece to the Puzzle of Being a Manifested Son of God

I have this impetuous habit of blurting out what pops into my brain, and so I asked,”The Savior’s name. Why is it so important? I know that sounds terrible, but ‘a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.'” How did Shakespeare ooze out of me at this moment? I could not escape my past; I was an English literature major through and through.

But instead of biting off my head, the Seer discerned that I was maintaining some semblance of sincerity, and so he replied, “In man’s way of thinking, names hold little revelance to one’s destiny. This is because the word ‘rose’ does not hold any profound meaning in and of itself. But this is not the case with the Savior’s name. His very name means something very important.”

“What does it mean?”

“Christ’s Hebrew name Yahshua means ‘Yah is the Savior,’ or ‘Yah is Salvation.’ It’s meaning actually explains to us just who He is and what His nature is. His name declares His purpose and speaks volumes as to the nature of the Godhead.”

“I still don’t get it.”

“It is a fact that the Hebrew names of biblical characters have meaning. ‘Daniel’ means ‘judge of God.’ ‘Sarah’ means ‘princess,’ and so on. So now it is time for the future manifested sons of God to know the Hebrew name of the Savior, and that name is Yahshua. Very much like the English name ‘Joshua.’ In fact, the Savior’s name and the patriarch’s name who carried on for Moses is the same name in Hebrew–Yahshua. It is not just a tag. His name is something to be believed. It states the truth that we are commanded to believe what it means.”

“What does it mean?”

“The first part of His name is ‘Yah.’ It is the shortened form of the very name of the Creator Himself–Yahweh. It means ‘the self-existent One.’ ‘Shua’ is Hebrew for ‘Savior’ or ‘Salvation.’ Together, both parts of the Savior’s name means ‘The Self-Existent One is the Savior.” The apostle Paul says that ‘the fullness of the Godhead dwelt bodily in Christ.’ And ‘God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself.'”

“Can you simplify that for me?” I asked.

“In other words, the message in His name to be believed is that the very Creator Himself resided in the man Christ and was the One doing the saving. Through Isaiah Yahweh says, ‘Beside Me there is no savior.’ Yahweh saves through His Son. That is what the Son’s name means. That is the message we are to believe. And when we do this, then great things begin to happen.

The Great Things that God Makes Happen When We Believe the Message in His Name

“What are these great things?” I asked the Seer.

“If we believe on the name, then God will answer our prayers, and even more shall He do for us. The biggest thing is that God Himself through His Spirit will come and take up residence in us. After all, we are the temple of God, are we not?

“That is what the Bible says,” I said.

“This is what He means when He promises that if we ask anything in His name that He will do it. And the first thing is that He will come down into us and abide and stay in us. He calls the Spirit our Comforter Advocate. The Spirit of truth will come down and reside in us to help us through the ‘dark night of the soul’–to help us on down the treacherous path of earthly existence. This is a cruel and deceiving world system that we have been brought up in. This earthly walk is hard on the future sons and daughters of God. So God in His infinite wisdom knew that we needed a Helper.”

“What all does the Comforter do” I asked.

“The most important thing that the Holy Spirit does for us is encourages us that we are not alone in this universe. The Spirit also leads and guides us into all truth. Be aware that the Comforter is the exact same Spirit that was in Christ.” The Seer turned back over to John 14: 16. “Christ will interceed to the Father for us that God would send us another Comforter.”

“What does He mean ‘another?’

“The Spirit, the Comforter, dwelt bodily in the Son of God. He was their helper and comforter as long as He was with them in the flesh. That’s the reason He said that He had to go away so that He could send the Spirit down to us to abide in us. He promises to send the Spirit to live inside us if we keep His commandment about believing that the Father, Yahweh Himself, was inside Him” [v. 16].

“It keeps coming back to believing God,” I said.

“Yes, without faith and belief in what God says, there is no way to please the Creator. The concept of believing God is easy; it is our hearts that are hard. Anyway, some will achieve His abiding presence through faith or belief in His word about these things and about keeping Christ’s commands about believing that the Father dwells in Him. He said, ‘If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him’ [v. 23]. He does this by the Holy Spirit of Love coming down and staying within us in our hearts. This Spirit of God will be sent to us in Christ’s name” [v. 26].

“What does that mean?” I asked.

“We must go back to the meaning of Christ’s Hebrew name, Yahshua. Knowing the meaning of it and believing it–that is the key to understanding how the Spirit is sent to us in Christ’s name, which is ‘Yahweh is the Savior.'”

“It goes back to believing that the Father lived inside the Son.”

“That’s it,” the Seer said. “You are getting it. He will send His Spirit–and this is a promise from God Himself and He cannot lie–He will send His Spirit down to take up residence when we know and believe what His name means. That is when the Father sends the Holy Spirit in Christ’s name. And Christ promises that the Spirit will ‘teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. This is the abiding of the Spirit of God within us. Those that continue on in this full abiding presence will grow to full maturity into the manifested sons of God.'”
