TV Series “KINGS” Based on Bible’s King David and Saul Story

Those  watching the TV series Kings are witnessing a rare event–a series based on a story in the Bible.

Kings chronicles the downfall of an evil king and the rise of a young man of humble origins, destined to ascend to that very throne. Of course, this is the story of Saul and David, found in the book of   I Samuel.

I couldn’t help but wonder just how close the writers of the show were following the story.  They have Rev. Samuels taking the prophet Samuel’s part in the story.  King Saul has become King Silas, who is an ex-general like Saul was.

David, the shepherd king, has become David Shepherd, a young man in the army who takes out an enemy tank named “Goliath” and becomes a national hero.  This earns him, like in the Bible, a spot in the king’s court.  Instead of playing the harp to soothe the king, David is a pianist.  He falls in love with Michelle, the king’s daughter, whose character parallels Michal, Saul’s daughter.

I certainly don’t blame the series’ producers for wanting to adopt this story.  The rise of King David is a wonderful story.  I would hope that it will prompt viewers to go back and read the original story in the Bible.  There is so much revelatory truth to be received.

Setting the Scene in  I Samuel

In I Samuel, we find the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob already in the Promised Land of Canaan, being persecuted by the Philistines around 1060 B.C.  God has allowed this because of their sins.

Instead of loving and reverencing the LORD (Yahweh), they ask His prophet Samuel to anoint for them a king, like the other nations around them.  Here the people want to have one of their own rule them as king and not hearken to the prophet of God, who had been guiding them for decades.

The LORD (Yahweh) speaks to Samuel, Do what the people want.  They have rejected Me–not you.  But warn them from Me as to what their new king will do to them (I Samuel 8: 5-9).

So Samuel told the people: King Saul will “take your sons” and put them in his army to fight foreign wars.  He’ll have you fabricating “instruments of war.”  He will “take your fields” and tax you and “give it to his servants.”  He will, in other words, redistribute your wealth.  He’ll make you his servants (8: 10-18).  Sounds eerily familiar, as in what President Obama is doing and will do.

But the people loved their new king, and rejected the man of God’s warning.  And so, Samuel anoints Saul to be king of the 12 tribes of Israel.  Saul was a “choice young man,” standing taller than most.  But he did evil in the sight of the LORD, fulfilling all that was prophesied of him.

This Speaks to Our Day

The parallels are striking.  By studying divinely inspired writings, we may clearly see our own time.  For the scriptures are applicable for us in the latter days.

Our current President is like King Saul.  He carries himself like a king.  He is popular, trusted, and well-spoken, but he serves the interests of men who are against the principles of our forefathers, as Saul did.

Like Saul, his origins are tainted.  I think of Barack Obama sitting in Jeremiah Wright’s church, soaking in those spewings of hate, prejudice, and resentment for twenty years.  Whatever a man joins himself to, that he becomes.  For “how can two walk together except they be agreed?”  And yet, the sheeple still follow blindly this new “anointed” king Obama.

Oh, how America has fallen from the precepts of our ancestors.  And we, like they of old, will pay the price.

But out of the ashes will arise the spiritual sons and daughters of God, who will help Him usher in His Kingdom that will supplant the current puppet-masters’ world government scheme.

So, yes, study the story in I Samuel.  For it speaks to our day, of a new King coming, of which David, the shepherd king, is a type.  Christ, the Anointed One, shall return.

The Kingdom of Heaven Versus Man’s One World Government

At this time in history, we all need some good news.  So here it is.  The Kingdom of Heaven is coming to this earth–literally.  Not “floating around heaven all day.”  Not apple pie in the sky bye and bye.   No, Christ is literally coming back to this earth to bring in a new government to earth.

The new government coming is a kingdom, which is a form of government whereby one of royal lineage rules completely and with full authority.  A kingdom then whose roots have a celestial origin would be considered a “kingdom of heaven,” or a kingdom from heaven.

Now the sovereign ruler of the Kingdom of Heaven is the King and Creator of this universe.  His name has come down to English speakers as Jesus.  But His  name since before the beginning of time, His name in the original spoken language of heaven, is Yahshua.

The meaning of His name proclaims our very ticket into citizenship in His kingdom.  Yah (Yahweh, the self-existent One) Shua (Is the Savior).  His is a kingdom/government which, according to the scriptures of truth, will break and smash into pieces all the other governments of this world.

The prophet Daniel spoke about this very event.  He was interpreting a forgotten dream that greatly troubled the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar.    Daniel told him his dream and interpreted it, giving glory to God as the One who reveals secrets.

The Dream

Daniel told him, You saw a great image whose “head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, his legs of iron and part of clay.”  Then you saw “a stone…cut out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces…and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth” (Daniel 2: 28-37).

The Interpretation

He went on to interpret his dream.  The different parts of the image were different world empires.  The head of gold was Nebuchadnezzar.   “And after thee, shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass…and a fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron “and shall break in pieces and subdue all things” (2: 38-40).

Here we see that Nebchadnezzar’s image in his dream was a vision of world empires, destined to rule the earth.  Scholars have universally said these four to be Babylonian, Media-Persia, Greece, and Rome.

Daniel continues the interpretation: “And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed.”  It will be an everlasting government.  “It shall not be left to other people.”  All of man’s kingdoms have an end when other people take their lands, riches, and buildings for their own–but not this heavenly kingdom.  This is the one kingdom that will never be vanquished.  “It shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms.”  This is the stone kingdom, the Kingdom of Heaven, that wipes out man’s kingdoms once and for all.  And “it shall stand forever” (2: 44).  The Kingdom of Heaven is an everlasting government that shall be ruled and reigned over by the King Himself, Jesus (Yahshua) of Nazareth.  This is the gospel, the good news for us the inhabitants of the earth!

And what was the Babylonian king’s reaction to this seemingly negative and rash interpretation by this foreigner Daniel in the court of the king?  Instead of killing Daniel, the king “fell upon his face, and worshiped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him,” and praised Daniel’s God.  He then made Daniel a “great man” and “ruler over the whole province of Babylon.”  He made him a viceroy, the chief governor of the kingdom.  So let us not be afraid what the enemy shall do unto us when we stand for the Kingdom of Heaven.

A Glimpse into the Future

Nebuchadnezzar was allowed to look down through 26 centuries to the time of the end, when a terrible world system with the mind of that “head of gold” still would be guiding the beastly image of world governance.

The image is one–one world governmental system.  The old Babylonian religion came to Rome on down to this very day.  Couple that with the political fascist fist of Rome which has now permeated the thoughts of the world’s ruling elite.  The last revival  of the old Roman Empire is the European Union, which is a precursor to a One World Union, presided over by the offspring of the old world kings and princes. (But because Christ’s kingdom “is not of this world,” His servants will not fight with man made weapons.  They will fight with the “sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Eph 6: 17).

And it is in the days of this last revival that the stone kingdom will come crashing down on the present world system, paving the way for the King and his heavenly kingdom to permeate the earth forever.  We are living in the time frame when He will come back.  That is the gospel, the good news.

Overcoming by the Word of Our Testimony

Those who overcome the evil do it by “the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony” (Rev. 12: 11) {See March 30, 2009 post}.

Faith in the cleansing power of Christ’s blood will set us into the position of being a testimony of God’s power in the earth.  First, to overcome we must be cleansed from sin, and then give testimony that God is real in our lives–that He is in control, that He is all powerful.

In other words, we must be a witness as to what He is doing, where He is going and taking us all, what His plan and purpose is, what He expects from His creation, what is His endgame.  We must go on record; we must take the witness stand here on earth and give our testimony as to what God has done in our life, and what He shall do in the lives of His true believers, and to those who will not believe in Him.  That takes surrender, study, and prayer.

It Is All About “Christ in You”

The “word of our testimony” is the same thing as this:  “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.”  It is all about “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”  It is all about the Spirit of the living God walking around in us.  This is the word of our testimony.  It is when we grow to a point when our actions are the Spirit of Christ living out His life in us.  Then we are poised for the final overcoming, or the final victory.

The first victory is the victory over sin and sinning.  By believing this testimony that God gave us of His Son–that those who have faith and believe that God placed mankind’s sins on Christ, and when He died, our old heart and spirit died.  And when Christ was buried, our old lives were buried.  And when Christ was raised from the dead, we also were raised from the dead! A new life, a new walk, a new way, a new purpose–now poised to receive the ultimate blessing reserved for all of His overcomers–nothing less that immortality!

The Seven Levels of Overcoming

The outline of the seven levels of overcoming are found in the church ages in Revelation 2 and 3.  These two chapters detail what we are to overcome in this new life and what the rewards are for the victors.

And those who are victorious to the end have this astounding prophecy given over them by Christ Himself: “To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne” (3: 22).

Those that are unafraid and go on to overcome all things–they will sit as princes and princesses on God’s own very throne!

And if that were not enough, we who get this  ultimate victory, we who allow God to fully manifest Himself in us–we shall inherit all things.  “He that overcometh shall inherit all things” (Rev. 21: 7).

Who Will It Be?

So–somebody will sit with Christ on His throne and will inherit all things–the greatest of which is immortality.  The question, then, is this: Who will it be?  Is it you or I who have just met on this page?  Will we be there as the immortal possessors of the universe, the sons and daughters of the King of the universe?

Or will we be among the “fearful and unbelieving”–those who will soon be eternally forgotten–those who wind up as just another broken common vessel that the Potter has discarded–broken potsherds having never made it to the kiln, never glazed with glory, never used to beautify His house. The Fall of Satan’s Kingdom (The One World Government) As Seen in Psalm 2

Satan’s got a kingdom?  Christ said that he did.  Christ, who even the atheists and agnostics say is a great teacher, confirmed this fact: “And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?” (Matt. 12: 26).  Luke quoted Satan saying that he held the power “of all the kingdoms of the world” during the temptations of Christ (4: 5).

Satan then has a kingdom, which is comprised of all of the world’s governments.  That is from the scripture of truth, which “cannot be broken” (John 10: 35).  I don’t care how much “the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing” (Psalm 2: 1-12).

And it is the governments of this world system, who are in the grips of Satan’s power, that are coming against the LORD (Yahweh) of heaven, their Creator.  “The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed (Christ)” (v. 2).

But God is not worried.  He is even laughing about the keystone-cop rulers of this world, for He “shall have them in derision” very shortly (v. 4).  For God’s wrath is soon to come up on Satan’s divided kingdoms; he will “vex them in His sore displeasure” (v. 5) and will “break them with a rod of iron..into pieces like a potter’s vessel” (v. 9).  For He has set up His Son Christ as His King (v. 6), and God has left all judgment to Him, to sort it all out during the 1,000 year reign of Christ.

And yet, despite the coming vengeance of the LORD on the ungodly at the end of this age, He in His great mercy still extends a hand to those in power who will come to Him: “Be wise now therefore, O ye kings; be instructed, ye judges of the earth.  Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.  Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled…” (v. 10-11).

But “how hard it is for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God” (Mark 10: 24).

Right now as we write this, the rulers of this world who “trust in riches” are in derision.  They are clamoring in their money schemes for a one world government that will be totally devoid of the love of Christ.  Many factions are wrestling against each other, jockeying for the ultimate position of power in Satan’s government.

Just look at the big powers: The Western international banking houses who have Europe and North America and the Israeli state in their hip pocket, China and the Asian block , the Middle East, Russia–all these powers are divided, for they all want to be the top dog in the coming one world government spoken of by God’s true prophets.  They are divided; these egomaniacs will help bring on their own fall.

The fall of Satan’s kingdom is coming  just before the Prince of peace Himself comes back to establish His wonderful rule in the earth–where there will be no more war, greed, nor evil allowed to ravage the innocent who scratch the bloody earth with their withered fingers.  No more empty smiling promises from jaded politicians.  Even so, come quickly, LORD.         Kenneth Wayne Hancock

World Economic Collapse Seen Through God’s Eyes

This economic disaster must be seen through the spiritual lens of the Scriptures. “The love of money is the root of all evil,” said the apostle Paul. It has always been about loving money for the evil one and his breed. To wit, the “thirty pieces of silver,” the “taking of the widows’ houses,” the lust and greed of the filthy “moneychangers” who the Savior drove out of the temple–symbolically the place where all of their ilk are banished to.

Woe Unto You Rich Men

But we can take heart in this: “Woe unto you rich men, who heap treasure together for the last days” (James 5: 1-3). In the end, this present world economic system will collapse, a la the “merchants” {read “international bankers”} lamenting the crash of “Mystery Babylon the Great” (Rev. 18: 11-13).

What God Gets out of the World Economic Collapse

This notwithstanding, my brothers and sisters, it is not just the survival of us and our families that we should think on. Yes, that comes first. “He that does not provide for his family is worse than an infidel.”  That is our duty.  But to answer our “high calling” that God has placed on us, we must widen our spiritual lens so that we see all this from God’s view–What does He say He will get out of the economic depression and the ensuing world government? Out of the ashes, caked with the tears of His chosen ones, He will forge a body of “many sons and daughters” that He will “bring unto glory.”

God is sovereign. He is in total control of the Satanic Illuminist minions in the earth today. He is allowing them to do their thing.  He is stirring the cauldron; make no mistake. The “most High rules in the kingdom of men and gives it {man’s governments} to whomsoever He will, and sets up over it the basest of men” (Daniel 4: 17, 32) {See https://immortalityroad.wordpress.com/2008/05/16/politicians-are-the-basest-of-men-according-to-bible/ ).

God’s Eternal Purpose

I know.  I wouldn’t have wrote it like that either, for His “ways are not our ways; His thoughts are not our thoughts.” Nevertheless, we must get His “eyesalve” and anoint our spiritual eyes so that we may see things the way He sees them–through the prism of His eternal purpose:  HE WANTS TO REPRODUCE HIMSELF IN A SPIRITUAL ARMY of many sons and daughters!  Gideon’s army in the Book of Judges is a type of this.

And those who lack this knowledge will be fighting our adversaries blindly, merely “beating the air,” flailing about, not really knowing what God is doing. Some of you, of course, know of what I speak. To you I say, Keep walking in the light, and feed His lambs and sheep.

I have written two books that you may read on-line at fthe top of this page.  One, “The Unveiling of the Sons of God,” is dedicated to the future sons and daughters of God, His princes and princesses–the heirs and future rulers of the soon-coming Kingdom of God. Clothed in immortality, they will stride forth in the Spirit and power of the Great One, and will pick up the pieces after Tribulation of what is left of this old world, and together as one, they will be His ambassadors and viceroys in the earth–one Spirit, one faith (God’s), one hope, one God, in all and through all of them. A Sword Coming on the Land–The World Economic Collapse

A sword is coming on the land, a sword that is swiftly cutting asunder our financial dreams of a comfortable retirement in peace and tranquility.  But we are asleep and need to heed the warning alarms being sounded by a few.

We are headed to the culmination of a takeover of our earth by dark nefarious forces.  In order for their plans to take full effect, the money must fail before the One World Government prophesied in the Bible comes to pass.  The trillionare families of this world who pull the strings of the puppet presidents, prime ministers, and premiers–they have engineered this collapse.

And we are in the throes of a dying world economy.  The lapdog media, controlled by these rich men, sit idly by and do not bark to sound the alarm to warn the people of the coming disaster.

But don’t take my word on it.  Listen to Bob Chapman of the International Forecaster, one of the few:

“A new stimulus package of $800 billion to $1 trillion isn’t going to solve the problem. It is a package that should have happened two years ago, but our government, Wall Street, banking, economists and analysts refused to recognize the recession that began 23 months ago. It wasn’t politically acceptable and professionals were intimated from calling the economic situation what it was and is. Most still have not publicly declared recession.

“The package will come and go. A quick jolt will be delivered to the economy lasting six months to a year. It avoids addressing the systemic problems. No jobs and a purging of the system. That will come later with currency controls and debt default. Remember, the US bond market is ten times the size of the US stock market and if the flow of funds in and out of the country is curtailed the financial world will be bedlam and the world economy will probably collapse. Even with devaluation and a default, who will buy Treasury paper? That means debt internally will be all monetization and the US will be Weimarized.

“We are not going to say much at this juncture about deflation and what will happen when it arrives. All we will say is that it will be horrible. That is why your gold and silver coins, freeze dry and dehydrated foods, gardens, water filters and ammo and weapons are so important.

“They are your insurance policy to survival. Prices on everything will plunge 80% or 90%, as will income and the value of fiat Federal Reserve notes. The once rich will suddenly become poor and you will survive. This will happen worldwide. When the world bond market collapses it will make the stock market and real estate collapses look trivial. All we can say is that worldwide more than $100 trillion will be lost and the world economic and financial system will come crashing down. The clue will be when foreigners finally stop buying US government debt”

How the New World Order Is Counterfeiting the Kingdom of God

The real leaders of the people, the rich men behind the scenes who are pulling the strings, feeding the people news and information that benefit their plans for world dominance–these leaders have usurped the great God of heaven’s plan for peace on earth and are trying to bring in their own plan for peace.

Their promise of  world peace is a latter day Pax Romana.  As the Romans coerced a “peace” by the sword on the Roman world, even so the puppet masters today are pulling the strings on the heads of state on the world stage.  They are subtly shaping a peace through a one world government.

But who or what is behind these rich puppet masters who control governments, economies, media, and the minds of men?  Satan, “the god of this world,” is behind it all.  Some will laugh at this–those who have been duped by their politically correct secular dogma.

Christ is called a great teacher and a good man, even a prophet by many  secularists and agnostics.  If Christ is such a great teacher, then why don’t they believe Christ’s teachings about Satan?  He taught that Satan is the “prince of this world” (John 12: 31). “Prince” means “ruler” in the Greek and is used to describe the Pharisees (Luke 14: 1).  Christ’s apostle Paul calls Satan “the prince (ruler) of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2).

So, Satan, is “the god of this world” that “has blinded the minds of them which believe not” (2 Cor. 4: 4).  Satan is the evil spirit ruler of this world system, and he is working in and through those who are disobedient to the vision of Christ and His soon coming Kingdom of God.

Satan knows God’s plan of establishing “on earth peace, and good will toward men” (Luke 2: 14).   He knows all about God’s plan to establish His Kingdom of God with the Prince of peace as its head.  But because of pride and rebellion, Satan wants to bring “peace” to his world, to be this world’s  savior, and not serve Christ.  So Satan is counterfeiting Christ’s work in the earth, thus presenting a choice for mankind: Satan’s kingdom of false “peace” or the Kingdom of God ruled by the Prince of peace.

One sees this false hope of peace at the United Nations building in New York through “Beating the Sword into a Plowshare” sculpture there.

I can hear the humanists now:  “This looks so nice, so right.  All of us citizens of the world should want peace on earth.  My goodness, what kind of person are you that won’t back this world peace movement.  It’s from the Bible even.  ‘They shall beat their swords into plowshares…nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore’ (Isaiah 2: 4).  Us we-are-the-world folks want this, and we are going to bring it in; it is up to us.”

This is how Satan is deceiving the whole world, for they have forgotten God and how it is his doing, and not ours.  The world leaders will tell the peoples that a one world government and new world order will usher in a new era of peace and is the only way to peace, thus rejecting the Prince of peace.

When all nations have bought in fully into this one world concept, headed by a strong charismatic leader called the Anti-Christ or man of sin, then the stage will be set for Christ’s return to overthrow the counterfeit government and gather His faithful and set things right.  Then will Christ get rid of the evil ones and set His children as the true princes and princesses in His kingdom.

For Christ is the Stone of the “Stone Kingdom” of Daniel 2.  He will utterly smash the world empire into pieces and begin His reign.  The choice lies before all of us as He cries to us, “Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve.”   Kenneth Wayne Hancock

A Kingdom Divided Against Itself–Satan’s World Crumbling

Satan has a kingdom, and it is coming down, even as we write this.  More banks are failing while more governments are borrowing trillions from central banker thieves, thus putting the people more in bondage.

Satan has a globally connected kingdom–actually many national governments who are enslaving their people through corrupt economic practices.  For the very central bankers who were supposed to “prevent the people’s elected representatives” from making a mess of things, are now the very ones selling us all down the tubes.

But we sons and daughters of God must be “wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”  We must know the “wiles of the devil” as we are admonished by the holy apostles of Christ.

So let us realize and believe what the Holy One Himself said about this present world system.  The “wicked one” and destroyer of men is plotting now through certain rich men how to consolidate his power over all nations (see James 5: 1-6).

Satan has longed for the day when his “one world government” is realized.  It has been many centuries in the making.

Satan’s Kingdom Is the “One World Government” and the “New World Order”

Christ taught us that Satan has his own kingdom.  “If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand?” (Luke 11: 18).   Earlier we see during the temptations of Christ, Satan saying, “All this power will I give you…for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”  We see by this statement that the power of this present world system is Satanic and the power thereof is given to men from the wicked one.

Satan is the “god of this world.”  He is in control, for now, of all the power of the governments of men.

But Satan’s kingdom is a divided kingdom.  For instance, the West is at war with the Middle East; Christendom is at war with Islamic fundamentalism; capitalism is at war with communism/socialism; Hindu India vs. Muslim Pakistan; tribe against tribe; culture against culture, ad infinitum.

The United States is going into the One World Government.  Both Republican and Democratic Parties are taking us there through very similar policies.  Ever notice how neither decries the Federal Reserve System’s stranglehold on our economy.  Remember George Bush I’s  speech gloating about the “New World Order”?  What sheer audacity.  And what do the sheeple do?  Nothing.  Not a whimper, not a word.

The Difference in Our Two Parties

Here’s the difference in the two parties.  The conservatives want the USA to be the leading voice in the One World Government.  The Liberals want to weaken her, redistribute her wealth, and strip her of her power and make the USA just another third rate power, like a middle of the road European state.

And it is all heading that way–the way that biblical prophecy has proclaimed it to be.  The world will fall under the spell of a charismatic ruler, the Anti-Christ.  For seven years he will hold sway.  But the phony peace, held together by grey duct tape of lies, will fracture because of all the evil selfish egos, and Satan’s kingdom will disintegrate about the time of Christ’s return to set up His kingdom.

He’ll set it all aright here on earth, establishing a 1,000 year reign of peace.  And He will be using His sons and daughters as His administrators and ambassadors sent to the far-flung corners of the globe, spreading His love, hope, and righteousness.     Kenneth Wayne Hancock

Not Many Mighty, Not Many Noble Are Called

This world system, Babylon the Great, is sick and evil.  Let’s call a spade a spade.  The vision put forth in the Holy Bible lines out the fall and demise of Satan’s kingdom–our present, corrupt world system.  It then is replaced with the Kingdom of God, headed by the King Himself, Jesus (Yahshua in Hebrew).

Before the world system falls and before Christ comes back to set up His Kingdom and 1,000 year Reign, there will be great move of God.  He has always come down, literally to this earth and visited somone and called them out to deliver His people.

He did not use mega-church pastors that preach “get all that you can get from God” or “Be a better you!”  No.  He chose out, as the apostle Paul said, people who knew they were weak and God was strong–people who were in awe of Him and His righteousness and glory.  “Not many mighty are called, not many noble” (I Cor. 1- 26).  He gives grace to the humble.  He will reveal Himself to those that are in awe of Him.

“That which has been is now…The things that happened to the tribes of Israel are written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the world are come…”  We read the Old Testament stories to see how God will work in our day.  “Past is prologue…”  “God requires the past…”

Take Gideon in the book of Judges.  Here was a young man, the youngest son in his family.  Yahweh appeared unto him and spoke to him and told him that God would deliver His people who were enslaved by the Midianites.  He addressed Gideon, “Thou mighty man of valour.”  While almost all of Israel worshiped Baal in the groves, he remained faithful, and then Yahweh appeared to him.  And the “army” that God allowed for the deliverance were 300 of His own choosing, not the 32,000 initial volunteers.  It was a small group doing it God’s way, which is not how man imagines God to work.  To see it today, just turn on religious programs; they are full of preachers and how they imagine God will work in our day.

Take David as a young boy.  He was zealous for Yahweh when no one else believed that they could defeat the Philistines.  He alone of all the armies of God’s people believed that Yahweh would deliver them.  And did He ever.  Later God would commune with David and called him to be king over His people.

Serious followers in this Way should pray for a move from God and prepare ourselves by worshiping Him in Spirit and in truth.  Just being a sensitive spiritual type person is not enough.  We must have the truth.  We must know Him, “as the scriptures has said”–not the tainted knowledge of some mega-evangelist who imagines God wants a new you.  God wants the sinful heart to die on the cross with Christ bringing repentance from sin and become a totally  new creation in Christ, where it is no longer you that lives, but Christ that lives in you.    For more on these things check out my books found here:
